    Just something to note, sometimes replacing a 05-09 fuel tank to a 11-14 fuel tank is the easier solution when running the return style fuel system and installing a bulk head. It allows for way more options for sending unit assemblies as well because 05-09 has limited (and expensive) options aftermarket.

      If this car gets more wild and serious in drifting, I'd probably just get a surge tank.

    • @charlesmeaux3954

      Easiest solution is the Vette filter as it plugs into place of the stock mustang. Then all you do is run a return line and drop into the hat. It took me all of an hour and about $100 to do that.

    I have done the swap on my 05, but when I used a harness by a speed shop that will not be named, it ran, but could not use my a/c and it grounded out a lot of my BCM and the radio would not work, etc. I just went ahead and swapped in a 2013 premium body harness, dash, seats, etc. Just a note, there will probably be a few other wiring issues if you have a 05-06 as the harnesses are different. GREAT INFORMATION!!

    • @MattSoppa
      @MattSoppa  2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Great! Try and a big reason why I’m apprehensive on offering a sort of swap harness because of the differences. I think the most I’d offer is the PCM body plug labeled to assist.
      The AC portion is a little more tricky than just swapping wires. I’ll cover that when the time comes.

      @@MattSoppa Yeah, the A/C is a huge issue on the 05 06 as the 07 09 are set up totally different. I ended up doing the A/C condenser and all the piping from the 2013 GT, as the 05 06 have 2 A/C sensors in the line and it also got rid of the big A/C dryer that is located next to the brake fluid reservior. Also used the EPAS and track pack ABS, not sure if necessary, but I wanted all the modules to be able to use the track pack settings in my 05.

    Do you have to change engine mounts? Also will the 5 speed transmission bolt right up to the engine

      This video is now a bit dated but I do have solutions for the 2010 in process including our plug and play swap harness.

    Hey Matt is this info still good if I bought a cheaper 5.0 from a truck? I heard the differences were compression ratio and maybe the oil pan but not much else.

    • @MattSoppa
      @MattSoppa  2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Yes a gen 1 truck will work in this application. Oil pan I think is the same. Just get the mustang gasket for the wi date tray and oil pump gears are different too along with compression ratio

      Do you think sourcing the harness from the tail lights to the headlights and swapping the dash would involve less thinking, I mean besides the seat air bags that my 05 doesn't have? I subscribed btw. Good content

      @@dustindow2959 if you’re thinking that way. Best to get a whole donor car and swap EVERYTHING

    What if I’m doing this swap on a 2006 V6 S197 using a wrecked 2014 5.0 what would you suggest?

    • @MattSoppa
      @MattSoppa  2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      To use this method you’d technically have all the parts you’d need! Or just swap everything from the donor to your V6. I mean. EVERYTHING
