Ariana Greenblatt has been on a roll lately. She's been in a lot of big stuff over the past few years. She played young Gamora back in Infinity War, she recently played young Ahsoka in the Ahsoka series, she was in the Barbie movie, and now this. She's really moving up in Hollywood. I just hope it doesn't affect her negatively too much.
I like all the actors, don't know if they would have necessarily been my choice for the roles they have though. But the visuals look cool and there's enough good actors that it could end up being at least decent
When he said I'm gonna be Dante I didn't even need to look at mdogg's face to start laughing lol but hey maybe in an alternate universe Dante is black and his pops Idris elba plays him
As a Borderlands purist, they got a lot wrong here. That's not to say the movie doesn't look like it will be entertaining, it's just quite clear they made it for casual fans and not Borderlands fans. The characters are way off from what they are in the games. Still looks like a good time and I'll definitely watch it with an open mind.
I think I can understand that tho. It’s good enough for borderlands fans to appreciate it and also allows people who know nothing about it to appreciate it too. People have been saying it gives GOTG vibes and I think that’s respectable because they some good movies
Imagine watching a trailer for Metal Gear Solid and you get the character Davonte the focus of the trailer. That’s how we hardcore Borderlands feel about this trailer 😂
You gonna be Devonte 🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣 Buh!! Awesome trailer and reaction per usual from Struggle Nation. Day 1 for me also! I've heard this was a movie coming out with Kevin Hart and finally a trailer.
I've got a LOT of hours of play time devoted to this series. All 4 big games, the first TellTale season... The only part I'm missing is the second TTG-esque storybook game, but we're still talking well over a thousand hours of play time between them. I won't say that I'm hyped about the movie, but I am encouraged by the trailer. Cautiously optimistic is a good description. The cast is solid, and could be great if Kevin Hart can pull off playing a comedic straightman. It looks like Roth hit the vibe with the setting and background, so my biggest concern is the writing. The dialogue needs to snap, the jokes need to land, and they have to be willing to push the boundary. I would feel better if they'd gotten Anthony Burch to help write it, but alas. This is one of those things where not only is it hard to get it really right, it's also incredibly easy to get it really, horribly, humiliatingly wrong. Several of my favorite moments in my personal gaming history were in Borderlands with my buddies, so I want this to be very good and do very well. I can deal with changes to the characters and the team and the like because I'm not a pedantic adolescent. To hell with gatekeeping purists. Make it wild and chaotic and funny, like Mad Max meets Deadpool, and it'll be fine.
Kevin Hart as Roland is cool but apparently he isn't cracking jokes in this movie he is the straight man. This movie looks like Guardians of the Galaxy or trying to emulate that James Gunn tone. But that makes sense for a Borderlands movie, those games are crazy and usually hilarious. I think it would be better if the language was filthy and they went for the R rating. It is Eli Roth, but if they neutered the movie to make it PG13 that would be a bummer. Jamie Lee Curtis kind of makes sense as Tannis with her manic energy, and Cate Blanchett could be great Lilith. It would be cool to see her use her powers, but maybe that is part of the story and they don't want to spoil it for the trailers. Tiny Tina needs to be fucking insane and borderline annoying, but Claptrap also needs to be turned up to 11. I just wish this were rated R , but I'll still probably watch it even though it will use every Gunn cliche in the book.
Yeah, I’m a pretty die-hard fan and this feels more like guardians than borderlands. Even the music sounds more like the vol. 1 soundtrack than the heavy dub step it should be. The humor isn’t as dry or dark as it is in the game. Yeah, borderlands could be silly, but it was also really sly and adult and gritty. So if it isn’t rated R, I’m not going to see it. Normally I don’t care, but if there’s a video game that needs an R rating, it’s the one with the casual dismemberment and testicle jokes. Honestly it feels like the studio is trying to capitalize on as much existing popularity as possible instead of doing a borderlands movie. It’s part jumanji, part guardians, part Kevin hart playing Kevin hart, etc. They just kept the brand name to get another tie-in. Who knows, maybe it’s great, but the trailer for borderlands 2 did way more for me than this did.
I mean… where he hell is Brick and Morty? Also why is Tannis so old? That’s ridiculous. And I like Kevin Hart, but Roland is a huge dude. Kevin is like negative 4 feet tall. The actress who’s playing Tina looks good, but she doesn’t sound at all like Tina, and she has a very specific way of being. Jack will probably be fine, but they realistically should have gotten the original voice actor for Claptrap.
The original voice actor for Claptrap (David Eddings) would have been a better choice, but there's no way they would have hired him after the very public falling out he had with the head of Gearbox after they dropped David from the role for BL3.
I don’t play the games but, I have watched my younger brother play the games. I can’t wait to watch this movie. In my opinion, I don’t picture Kevin Hart in this movie because my younger brother said the character that Kevin Hart is playing as supposed to be act serious.
What I am annoyed by is Borderlands comes out in August and they already have their trailer out, but we still don't have a trailer to Alien: Romulus and Trap and both of those movies comes out in the same month as Borderlands. Although we are only a few days away from March maybe their waiting until March to release those 2 trailers?????
As someone who knows a lot this is going to be really bad but I'm still interested to see how bad 😂 These are my opinions Kevin is Roland (miscast too short, not serious enough Kate Blanchett is Lilith (miscast her look jus seems forced) Jaime Lee Curtis is Tannis she does not fit the look but the few seconds they showed her seems like she embodies the character The little girl Tiny Tina idk her actress but she seems like she'll be good The guy in the mask Krieg looks good And last but not least Jack as clapp trap idk ima need to hear more rn I'm not sold on it overall I hope this does turn out good and surprise us
Honestly as someone who is a die-hard Borderlands fan… there is a lot wrong with this trailer. I tried typing it all out with explanations on why I felt that way and it was way too long. Ain’t nobody reading all of that lmfao. But I’ll still watch it. Just not expecting much.
The cast members in this film are amazing. I hope it does well. Looks like a good time. I heard hardcore borderlands fans talk about this trailer and they didn't like it. But im planning to see it
Folks going to complain about Kevin hart and his height but nobody want to complain about Hugh Jackman playing as wolverine being 6,2 and Wolverine is actually 5,3
Casting is off from first impressions. Hope it works. Ill go see it. Perhaps a better approach would be having Fortiche studios that did Arcane do a streaming series.
I kinda want to see it but I'm afraid it's gonna suck ass, recasting would be a way to go for starters, no offence to Cate and the other except Tiny Tina's actress, never heard of her, adding other vault hunters would be great as well. I just really hope that it doesn't suck I'll be on a lookout for more trailers and whatnot, to actually see if I can't to see it or not.
I'm sorry to be that guy but they did not do the characters right. Roland (Kevin hart) would never say no to Tiny Tina when it comes to explosives Lilith Just looks old with they could do better with the casting. not that Cate Blanchett would not do a good Lilith but she is a bit old to play said character Tiny Tina Actor is fine but her lines is not what Tiny Tina would say he should be more gremlin like. like for example when she gets the "piss" on her she should say something on the lines off "well at least I won't have to take a shower now since I just hade a golden one *laugher* she should be more gremlin like she should be crazy. (not the actors fault but the writers fault instead)
As a Borderlands fan this looks TERRIBLE! I like a lot of these actors, but they don't fit these characters at all. Whoever was in charge of casting should be fired.
when tiny tina and roland are about the same size u know theres something wrong lol but for me the worst is cate blanchett playing lilith smh worst casting ever ngl
“You want to be Dante…more like Devonte!” 😂😂😂
Racism
Yeah, has major guardians of the galaxy vibes but it’s written and directed by Eli Roth, so I hope it’s rated R for it to truly work.
It does have a Guardians feel
Eli roth hinted it was r rated during script and screenplay phase saying pg-13 isn't badass enough
Wow, the girl playing Tiny Tina has played young Ahsoka and young Gammora (and probably other stuff)...pretty good career so far!
Omg I recognize young gaMora with ONE 'M'.
Also the girl from 65

Came here to say this.
Guardians of Jumanji vibes. I'm looking forward to you guys seeing and reviewing it. I'll decide if I should check it out then.
When he said I'm gonna be Dante I didn't even need to look at mdogg's face to start laughing lol
but hey maybe in an alternate universe Dante is black and his pops Idris elba plays him
They could have got Batista as Brick and John Leguizamo as Mordecai
"The Devil Cry, a Tubi exclusive"😂😂😂
As someone who knows nothing about this IP, I get the new Dungeons and Dragons and Guardians vibes.
This franchise literally defined me as an avid gamer (they better do this movie justice.)
As a Borderlands purist, they got a lot wrong here. That's not to say the movie doesn't look like it will be entertaining, it's just quite clear they made it for casual fans and not Borderlands fans. Only Tiny Tina and Krieg feel similar abit.. And i hope he got meat bicycle
Exactly
Looks expensive, they had to make it for mass market, that's just business
Show him all the trailers from BL1 and 2 and 3? As usual the banter always exceeds even the trailer reaction :D
It has all the elements of Borderlands. The weapons, the look, and the comedy.
This is giving me the first guardians of the galaxy movie vibes
Except there is no senior citizens 😂
Except there is no senior citizens as the main cast when they are supposed to be in their 20s and 30s in guardians of the galaxy 😂
Absolutely not, it’s giving Cash Grabbers of the Hollywood Plants
You gonna be Devonte 🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣 Buh!! Awesome trailer and reaction per usual from Struggle Nation. Day 1 for me also! I've heard this was a movie coming out with Kevin Hart and finally a trailer.

IMDB still has Oscar Issac set to star as Snake in a MGS movie
Holy crap tiny tina literally looks and sounds like tiny tina they literally picked good actress to play her
Tiny Tina is spot on yeah
Perfect chance for you both to do a coop run of the first game.
“DEVONTE!”😂😂😂😂😂😂😂
People are saying the casting is off. Personally, I think it can work.
The big question though is this:
Rated R or no?
Claptrap is an R rared r2d2 and I'm here for it
why is tiny tina so much taller than Roland? 🤣
Claptrap should've just been the original game voice actor
This movie is mix of Suicide Squad, GOTG, and Mad Max
Kevin Hart as Roland is cool but apparently he isn't cracking jokes in this movie he is the straight man. This movie looks like Guardians of the Galaxy or trying to emulate that James Gunn tone. There's apparently a small snippet in the trailer of Lilith phase shifting, but it's a blink and you miss it part... I just can't ever see it
Cate Blanchett is WAY too old for Lilith, Lilith is in her early twenties in the first game and early thirties in the most recent one.

The kid is little Gamora mcu
I used to watch my lil cousin play the Games so I know his ahh is excited for the movie 😂🤙🏽
Looks fun 🔥🤘🏻I need to replay the games
I mean… where he hell is Brick and Morty? Also why is Tannis so old? That’s ridiculous. And I like Kevin Hart, but Roland is a huge dude. Kevin is like negative 4 feet tall. 5:13 you forgot guardians of the galaxy 😂😁
lmao mans said his eyes get blue in the sunlight
Instead of hiring the og voice actor of claptrap, they spend a shit ton of money and hired Jack black to impersonate the og voice actor for claptrap.
The original voice actor for Claptrap (David Eddings) would have been a better choice, but there's no way they would have hired him after the very public falling out he had with the head of Gearbox after they dropped David from the role for BL3.

I just started playing Tiny Tina’s so this was good timing lol
As someone who knows a lot this is going to be really bad but I'm still interested to see how bad 😂
These are my opinions
Kevin is Roland (miscast too short, not serious enough
Kate Blanchett is Lilith (miscast her look jus seems forced)
Jaime Lee Curtis is Tannis she does not fit the look but the few seconds they showed her seems like she embodies the character
The little girl Tiny Tina idk her actress but she seems like she'll be good
The guy in the mask Krieg looks good
And last but not least Jack as clapp trap idk ima need to hear more rn I'm not sold on it overall I hope this does turn out good and surprise us

Are you guys still doing clone wars? You’re so close to one of my all time favorite arcs 🤣
Gina Gershon plays Moxxi
Also, why is Handsom Jack not the bad guy? That’s the line up they should have done.
Man The fact that they chose Jack black and not the original voice actor... or at the very least John Mulaney shows a lack of creativity
Folks going to complain about Kevin hart and his height but nobody want to complain about Hugh Jackman playing as wolverine being 6,2 and Wolverine is actually 5,3
James Gunn is probably wondering when he made this and what happened to his paycheck.
I wouldn’t be surprised if this movie features product placement for Depends.
The internet has an opinion 🤣 BL geek, 100% going opening night!
Give me guardians of the galaxy vibes
fun summer movie, im in
Borderlands 2 was the best in the series. After that, it kinda went downhill.
I binged Borderlands 2 cause I had no internet back then and my uncle didn’t play it anymore. It’s so good and addicting 😂
Borderlands 2 was definitely the best of the series. I enjoyed 3 for what it was but the second was the best
I put an ungodly amount of hours into borderlands 2 definitely the best in the series!!!
@@mattquinn2215 pre sequel was fire too
Casting is off from first impressions.
Hope it works. Ill go see it.
Perhaps a better approach would be having Fortiche studios that did Arcane do a streaming series.
I think this movie with be at least fun, even though some of the characters are very mis-cast but I can overlook that if they give a good performance.
I actually think struggle can pull off long white hair
wow this looks so good!
BOBBY LEE
Once again asking y'all to react to the Boy Kills World trailer.
Tiny Tina casting is so perfect 😂
I’m a be honest this movie gone be a 6/10 and probably gone be Kevin’s worst role his character look outta place fr
Heyooo!!
As a Borderlands fans, this has the right vibes, can't wait for it
I'm getting street fighter vibes.
Nah claptraps original voice is iconic i dont need a celebrity to voice him just so they can name drop him so the movie get publicity
Kevin hart as Tiny Tina would be better than Roland 😂😂 Idris Elba should have been Roland 😢
if you aint play the games you have no input on what the world and characters should be like 👍🏼
Looks pretty good
Can you survive?
Boy Kills World > Borderlands
Thinking outside the box. This is going to be a silly movie let's be honest. But also probably very entertaining! 👍
I'm sorry to be that guy but they did not do the characters right.
Roland (Kevin hart) would never say no to Tiny Tina when it comes to explosives
Lilith Just looks old with they could do better with the casting. not that Cate Blanchett would not do a good Lilith but she is a bit old to play said character
Tiny Tina Actor is fine but her lines is not what Tiny Tina would say he should be more gremlin like. like for example when she gets the "piss" on her she should say something on the lines off "well at least I won't have to take a shower now since I just hade a golden one *laugher* she should be more gremlin like she should be crazy. (not the actors fault but the writers fault instead)
Hopefully, this is a stupid fun movie
As a Borderlands fan this looks TERRIBLE! I like a lot of these actors, but they don't fit these characters at all. Whoever was in charge of casting should be fired.
I'm take my side chick day 1😝
Nah… this ain’t it y’all!? 😂
when tiny tina and roland are about the same size u know theres something wrong lol but for me the worst is cate blanchett playing lilith smh worst casting ever ngl
Nahhhh lol
They basically halo'fied borderlands soo....
Re cast
First!
This looks like trash. It’s just a Guardians retread.
