Just a FYI when i mention that I wish this game had an open world like Forza Horizon I meant an open world filled with loads to do such as barn finds, stuff like in TDU2 where you had shops, houses, showrooms, club houses, casinos. This game has an open world but thats about it.

Captain Baddboy its when the AI cars magically speed past you like your standing still, then at the end of the race they start slowing down so you don’t lose and can feel like you beat them when you really didn’t, they let you win.
Thats difficult because of the mp server comes and goes and is broken when it works like some stuff isn't there day time is stuck, driving with other people is difficult - impossible etc.. believe me i keep trying to play that game.. also that game is a complete bellend in a way the DLC the way its done is fucking awful. You buy it on steam but dlc requires like atari coins.. oh and if you dont back up your save file you have to buy another copy of the game if you forgot your account details because you can't recover your account.. Yeah the games a twat thanks to atari, good game but has major flaws.
TDU 2 is a complete shit compared to the first one. I don't understand, why he's glorifying it so much. It has horrible physics, stupid story and characters are at least as equally annoying as in todays games. And what the fuck is a point of having a casino in a driving game? The first TDU is a pure driving game, you can go for a drive without anything interupting the player, no pop-up messages, no points or phonecalls, just you and the car. There's a hardcore mode, making the physics much more realistic and you can also play your own music, which for some silly reason they didn't include in the second game.

That test drive is also my favorite racing game ever. I got so addicted to that and jut played nonstop. I loved heading to the casino with a few friends and just hanging out and racing cars. It was amazing. Damn I wish they’d make a game like that
That last 20 seconds or so of the in-game characters voice nearly killed me - I was not prepared to hear about "cool stuff like bridges". And to think, there was someone I passed by today who was gushing over being able to get the game when it came out... i had no idea what it was until Mac's vid today.

I hate it in driving/racing games where the shrubbery/grass/etc. goes through the car. It feels really cheap. If they don't want to go through the hassle of making the grass bend under the car; then they should just turn the grass invisible under the car or have it flatten; it would look much better.

FINALLY SOMEONE SAID IT!!! Speaking of Test Drive anyone remember the 1st one?? The burnouts were awesome, it left stainer marks on the road & u could smoke the whole screen out to the points u couldnt see the car i miss doin donuts in a cloud of smoke. Another cool thing some cars were better for burnouts than others not just all the same like games now. Memories......i spent hours just doin burnouts, then in the casino in TDU2 lol!!!
TDU2 is one of the greatest racing games I've ever played. So many great immersive details like going to an actual dealership and walking around on foot to look at all the cars inside and out. Or how about going to a car wash where hot girls in bikinis wash your car? Casinos, apartments with lots of customization options. The game had it all. TDU2 remastered would be amazing.
Okay, I didn't want to watch this video after a certain point. I thought I'd agree with you because honestly I think the game is shit and going to flounder. All you're talking about is a bunch of shit IMO. How the characters looks, how they have duck lips and they're "unattractive" when they look like normal humans. If you want to hear my "preview" of this game, it's The Crew with more vehicles and less features. It's like they took The Crew, removed everything you liked about it and then added one big thing you'd like. They removed exploring, skill trees, and the physical GPS. They made the map bigger, but driving across it is boring, and mostly pointless. Not to mention the "beta test" was just a cash grab to get more people to buy the game. There was no real beta testing. It was just a small portion of the game, 4 missions, to tempt you into buying the "gold edition" to continue. also the comments here are "millennials" this and "millennials" that. Why is Ubisoft unwilling or unable to render proper mirror reflections in vehicles? I've noticed that in almost every Ubisoft game that has them -- The Crew series, Far Cry series, Watch Dogs series. They'll put a very blurry reflection or almost static image or sometimes nothing at all. Are they too dumb to do it?
Ubisoft loves its menus. In Farcry, AC, and this, you'll be thrown a giant menu that looks like Windows 8 home screen instead of an actual action to do in the game.
I streamed this the other day and had to delete it because of the rant i was on about the UI with keyboard and mouse is so bad and the wheel keybinds where so annoying and the overall experience switching between keyboard/controller/wheel felt so clunky for everything compared to the first title. We did get a good laugh in though ;) The handbrake being on the thumb buttons on the wheel seems really common and i agree makes no sense when trying to steer, i use the paddle shifter on the left side of the wheel for the handbrake and its a bit better but a physical one by the shift knob would be great. I could have sworn there was keybinds for the wheel in the menus but i might be mistaken, going to try to get things a bit more intuitive and do a more in depth test of it. The world is definitely bland and barren and the visuals are nothing impressive but the physics are alot better in my opinion. Glad to see we were not the only ones like WTF!? Good video man, let Ubisoft know they need to get their shit together!
Yeah they have a lot of work to do before the release date.. They have a whole lot of Famous Buildings & Landmarks missing out of Chicago such as the Sears Tower, Airport, & United Center etc etc.. The Stadium is not in St Louis yet. Yankee Stadium & the Chrysler Building is not in New York yet. The Mexican/US Border Wall is not going along the Border yet. The Bridge from Detroit to Canada is not even there yet.. Lots of work to be done by the 29th. 🤔

As much as I love The Crew, this beta feels alright but heading into the social media phase, I am not 100% convinced was a good move. I mean they are trying new approaches to the game but maybe going in the wrong direction.
I may or may not agree with you, but if I can offer an alternate opinion... I hope you understand Mack that the whole followers system is just replacing a point system. It's making it more immersive than having "points" which don't exist in the real world and frankly, don't make sense. It's trying to tie down the everyday point system to the real world by making them into something of value, which for the majority of people playing this game, would be social media followers. I know you're a lot older than the average gamer, but there will be a lot of Millennials playing this game. And I think they will appreciate the point system being tied down to something real like followers instead of just "points". I don't think it's Millennial bullcrap, it's just Ubisoft trying to make it more immersive for you. As for the wheel, I can see your frustration there and I believe you are justified. As for the emersion, I know you felt like the world was kind of lifeless, but what you don't understand is that this game will be an MMO, so every race will have players, and the HUGE world will be thriving with thousands and thousands of players along with the NPC drivers. Believe me, if you could get some friends and head out into the American West and you'll have boatloads of fun. I'd love to hear your opinion on my point, but if not, at least review the full game. I don't think you'll be disappointed.

Couple graphics tweaks and some lip-syncing and its great. I thoroughly enjoyed my time playing it and would have played it more, but the progression is locked. This is a pure arcade game. Tried it with a CSL Elite once and never used it in the game again. This game is meant for a controller. That’s ok. There are plenty of other games to use a wheel on. Thoroughly brilliant game and I will pre-order the Gold Edition. If you have any kids (especially boys), please buy them this game. This is a game I wish I had when I was 8 or 9.
Stormer248 To be completely honest, I LOVE the underlying story and themes here. They aren’t making fun of social media or saying anything negative about it at all. The more famous you are, the better events you can participate in. I also LOVED the atmosphere of NFS 2015. It is a game mechanic and story that I can just have fun with. When a game does this concept earnestly, it does really well and feels great. This game makes me want to play it.
I tried both and it felt far better with the wheel, it's too twitchy with the controller. The wheel felt more natural (even with the floaty physics) and I never felt the need to use the handbrake, drifting included. The planes and wheel don't play well together but I just switched out to the controller for those.
Well, I thought of it as a pretty decent racer, using a controller, at least... it's not bad, it just not ground breaking, and has some issues that can still be fixed. Personally, what bothered me the most, was the default nitro boost on everything and everyone.
except tdu2 was pretty much a terrible game that we all loved lol. the upsides of tdu2 was the immersion and community. lets face it, tdu2 pretty much sucked. the ai in races might as well be driving the speedlimit cause it sure does seem that way. The physics are straight up taken from tdu1 but they broke the change between grip and not grip so it feels more awkward than it did in tdu1. although a real tdu2 sequel would be much loved. (and would mean i don't have to put up with this millennial shit too) but until then this is one of the two open world racing games that are passable (forza horizon being the other one. nfspayback can go die)
The best thing is, you can only fine-tune your car, when you got a certain amount of followers, so: mechanical skill = amount of followers... damn this jacob sartorius has to be the smartest kid alive!
I was done with The Crew before it was even a week old. I preordered for $49 and played the beta, but when the game released the game disappeared from my library and I was asked to buy it again. Never got a response on the forums except for a few users telling me that I was fucked.
I just hate the new multiplayer player targets/dots, I liked The Crew 1's iconic player card that would move around the map and was easily visible when zoomed fully out on the world map. I also liked how you could set up a crew much more easily, faster, and in a more immersive way in TC1. Next thing I didn't like was the lack of actual police that chase you, that's a biggggggg no-no for me when it comes to a game like this with open world street racing, after I race and race and race, I want some AI to give me a good chase and try to take me down, especially with these upgraded TC2 graphics! Oh boy, the real time reflections are marvelous and so is the upgraded amounts of world detail and weather/environment system. I hate this a lot too cause in one of the trailers, right at the end, u see like 3+ cop cars and a police helicopter chasing down a racer across the golden gate bridge!!! Last thing I think was the way you install upgrades to your car... Eugh! It's slow and makes me want to not install til I find out I have like 20 parts sitting at "HQ" or whatever. Stupid as fuck lol.

FINALLY SOMEONE SAID IT!!! Speaking of Test Drive anyone remember the 1st one?? The burnouts were awesome, it left stainer marks on the road & u could smoke the whole screen out to the points u couldnt see the car i miss doin donuts in a cloud of smoke. Another cool thing some cars were better for burnouts than others not just all the same like games now. Memories......i spent hours just doin burnouts, then in the casino in TDU2 lol!!!

TDU2 is one of the greatest racing games I've ever played. So many great immersive details like going to an actual dealership and walking around on foot to look at all the cars inside and out.
Or how about going to a car wash where hot girls in bikinis wash your car? Casinos, apartments with lots of customization options. The game had it all. TDU2 remastered would be amazing.

Okay, I didn't want to watch this video after a certain point. I thought I'd agree with you because honestly I think the game is shit and going to flounder. All you're talking about is a bunch of shit IMO. How the characters looks, how they have duck lips and they're "unattractive" when they look like normal humans. Then about how kids in a store opted to play with a controller. Then started on about how this is a "car game". So, sorry if I say the same thing as you here.
If you want to hear my "preview" of this game, it's The Crew with more vehicles and less features. It's like they took The Crew, removed everything you liked about it and then added one big thing you'd like. They removed exploring, skill trees, and the physical GPS. They made the map bigger, but driving across it is boring, and mostly pointless.
Not to mention the "beta test" was just a cash grab to get more people to buy the game. There was no real beta testing. It was just a small portion of the game, 4 missions, to tempt you into buying the "gold edition" to continue.

Why is Ubisoft unwilling or unable to render proper mirror reflections in vehicles? I've noticed that in almost every Ubisoft game that has them -- The Crew series, Far Cry series, Watch Dogs series. They'll put a very blurry reflection or almost static image or sometimes nothing at all. Are they too dumb to do it?
What about adding more crappy stereotypes like midlife crisis divorced man with his mail order Thai Bride?

Ubisoft loves its menus. In Farcry, AC, and this, you'll be thrown a giant menu that looks like Windows 8 home screen instead of an actual action to do in the game.

I streamed this the other day and had to delete it because of the rant i was on about the UI with keyboard and mouse is so bad and the wheel keybinds where so annoying and the overall experience switching between keyboard/controller/wheel felt so clunky for everything compared to the first title. We did get a good laugh in though ;) The handbrake being on the thumb buttons on the wheel seems really common and i agree makes no sense when trying to steer, i use the paddle shifter on the left side of the wheel for the handbrake and its a bit better but a physical one by the shift knob would be great. I could have sworn there was keybinds for the wheel in the menus but i might be mistaken, going to try to get things a bit more intuitive and do a more in depth test of it. The world is definitely bland and barren and the visuals are nothing impressive but the physics are alot better in my opinion. Glad to see we were not the only ones like WTF!? Good video man, let Ubisoft know they need to get their shit together!
Yeah they have a lot of work to do before the release date.. They have a whole lot of Famous Buildings & Landmarks missing out of Chicago such as the Sears Tower, Airport, & United Center etc etc.. The Stadium is not in St Louis yet. Yankee Stadium & the Chrysler Building is not in New York yet. The Mexican/US Border Wall is not going along the Border yet. The Bridge from Detroit to Canada is not even there yet.. Lots of work to be done by the 29th. 🤔

As much as I love The Crew, this beta feels alright but heading into the social media phase, I am not 100% convinced was a good move. I mean they are trying new approaches to the game but maybe going in the wrong direction.

I may or may not agree with you, but if I can offer an alternate opinion... I hope you understand Mack that the whole followers system is just replacing a point system. It's making it more immersive than having "points" which don't exist in the real world and frankly, don't make sense. It's trying to tie down the everyday point system to the real world by making them into something of value, which for the majority of people playing this game, would be social media followers. I know you're a lot older than the average gamer, but there will be a lot of Millennials playing this game. And I think they will appreciate the point system being tied down to something real like followers instead of just "points".
I don't think it's Millennial bullcrap, it's just Ubisoft trying to make it more immersive for you. As for the wheel, I can see your frustration there and I believe you are justified.
As for the emersion, I know you felt like the world was kind of lifeless, but what you don't understand is that this game will be an MMO, so every race will have players, and the HUGE world will be thriving with thousands and thousands of players along with the NPC drivers. Believe me, if you could get some friends and head out into the American West and you'll have boatloads of fun.
I'd love to hear your opinion on my point, but if not, at least review the full game. I don't think you'll be disappointed.

It's a nice break form ultra uptight sim racers etc...free roam with decent ffb, absolutely massive map, nice enough graphics, well optimized ish, fun to drive with friends, lol the story line is absolute sodomy agreed !! and the no controller mapping is worth a bitch slap Ubisoft :/. Still worth a buy compared to most over hyped shit... I like it.

Is this supposed to be sarcastic? Is this supposed to be funny? Cause it isn’t. Maybe I’m too stupid to understand the humor. I’ve been playing the Beta and the game is really good. Couple graphics tweaks and some lip-syncing and its great. I thoroughly enjoyed my time playing it and would have played it more, but the progression is locked. This is a pure arcade game. Tried it with a CSL Elite once and never used it in the game again. This game is meant for a controller. That’s ok. There are plenty of other games to use a wheel on. Thoroughly brilliant game and I will pre-order the Gold Edition. If you have any kids (especially boys), please buy them this game. This is a game I wish I had when I was 8 or 9.

Stormer248 To be completely honest, I LOVE the underlying story and themes here. They aren’t making fun of social media or saying anything negative about it at all. The more famous you are, the better events you can participate in. I also LOVED the atmosphere of NFS 2015. It is a game mechanic and story that I can just have fun with. When a game does this concept earnestly, it does really well and feels great. This game makes me want to play it.

In defence of The Crew 2 it's not a wheel game it is made for pad, and it's fantastic on pad.
I tried both and it felt far better with the wheel, it's too twitchy with the controller. The wheel felt more natural (even with the floaty physics) and I never felt the need to use the handbrake, drifting included.
The planes and wheel don't play well together but I just switched out to the controller for those.
Well, I thought of it as a pretty decent racer, using a controller, at least... it's not bad, it just not ground breaking, and has some issues that can still be fixed. Personally, what bothered me the most, was the default nitro boost on everything and everyone.
The game is fun. You’re complaining about things an arcade racer isn’t suppose to have.
Try playing a good arcade racer like TDU 2 then you will see why this game is terrible.
except tdu2 was pretty much a terrible game that we all loved lol. the upsides of tdu2 was the immersion and community.
lets face it, tdu2 pretty much sucked. the ai in races might as well be driving the speedlimit cause it sure does seem that way. The physics are straight up taken from tdu1 but they broke the change between grip and not grip so it feels more awkward than it did in tdu1.
although a real tdu2 sequel would be much loved. (and would mean i don't have to put up with this millennial shit too) but until then this is one of the two open world racing games that are passable (forza horizon being the other one. nfspayback can go die)

I was done with The Crew before it was even a week old. I preordered for $49 and played the beta, but when the game released the game disappeared from my library and I was asked to buy it again. Never got a response on the forums except for a few users telling me that I was fucked.
I just hate the new multiplayer player targets/dots, I liked The Crew 1's iconic player card that would move around the map and was easily visible when zoomed fully out on the world map. I also liked how you could set up a crew much more easily, faster, and in a more immersive way in TC1. Next thing I didn't like was the lack of actual police that chase you, that's a biggggggg no-no for me when it comes to a game like this with open world street racing, after I race and race and race, I want some AI to give me a good chase and try to take me down, especially with these upgraded TC2 graphics! Oh boy, the real time reflections are marvelous and so is the upgraded amounts of world detail and weather/environment system. I hate this a lot too cause in one of the trailers, right at the end, u see like 3+ cop cars and a police helicopter chasing down a racer across the golden gate bridge!!!
Last thing I think was the way you install upgrades to your car... Eugh! It's slow and makes me want to not install til I find out I have like 20 parts sitting at "HQ" or whatever. Stupid as fuck lol.
