    I have a watertank - do you recommend installing before the water tank or from water tank to house?

      Hello jonathansimbulan. The Moen Flo Smart Water Monitor and Shutoff should be installed after the water storage tank. The device should be placed after (downstream) of all treatment and filtration components to avoid debris interference. If it is necessary to install the device prior to a water filtration system, a wye strainer with a 100 mesh or finer screen and blow-down port is required to catch any sediment or particles from the ground source or casing. The mesh screen in the strainer may require periodic maintenance. If you have any additional questions, please contact our Smart Water team.     How much clearance does the pipe/device need from the wall?

      Hello RookFett. The Moen Flo Smart Water Monitor and Shutoff requires a minimum clearance of 3" from the wall for the 900-001and 900-006. A minimum clearance of 3 13/16" will be needed for the 900-002. If you have any additional questions, please contact our Smart Water team.     Can I install it on my hot water heater pipe I want to get 2 of them one for cold water and one for hot water. I live in a condo and have electric boiler.

      Hello ELRO-. The Flo Smart Water Monitor and Shutoff needs to be installed on the house’s main water line after your manual shutoff valve and/or pressure reducing valve. The device can be installed in either a horizontal or a vertical position with the arrow on the device pointing in the direction of the flow of water into the home.

      @ELRO- This device is designed to be installed on the main water supply, not the hot water supply. Moen does not recommend you install this product on your hot water supply line. I hope this answers your question.

    Is there a battery backup incase of a power outage?

      Hello nausetlight5192. Moen does not currently have an alternative battery backup option for sale. Moen is working to develop a new battery backup to support the Flo Smart Water Monitor & Shutoff in the future.

    if I set this up for a start up on my phone can my customer then set up on their phone after?

      Hello. You can only set up one account and password. You can then share that information with the customer to use for future.

    On the app how do I see if I am connected to my home network? How do I see if my app is pared with the flo device?

      I called the help desk on Saturday and spoke with Ashley, who was very helpful! We figured out when I was taking a picture of the bar code I must have used my photo app. Before speaking with her when I was.on hold, I did used the bar code scanner app and that took me directly to the wifi set up to connect my app to the Flo. She also gave me tips for using the app about how to see live usage and how to put the app to sleep during times where there could be abnormal usage, like when you have out of town guests. She said you can find that information on their website. Customer service was outstanding. Maybe a question on water usage could address having a boiler where it may need to draw some water so if you were to put the app on away mode, the boiler could still call for water so the house could stay warm when you are away for an extended period of time.

    I have 2 of these devices. After investing $1,000 plus labor one of the units failed just as it went out of warranty. (Both of the original units failed and had to be repaired while under warranty.) I may be foolish but I’m now buying another unit because I believe in the necessity of monitoring water. Sorry but I’m disappointed in Moen.

    I paid $800 for my Moen Smartwater shut off valve and it doesn’t even connect to my Wi-Fi. I have excellent Wi-Fi and excellent connection. This product is a lie.

      @@flacdaddy1313 yeah the Meon router kept searching for the neighbors router it took two days to connect for a mandatory attachment to the house this project sucks

      Hello and thank you for contacting Moen! I apologize for the inconvenience, if you're currently having issues with the Flo device being offline you can follow the steps below.
      Step 1:
      1. leave plugged in.
      2. hold reset for about 30 seconds until the status light flashes rapidly. then let go.
      3. wait until the valve light goes green and the status light goes solid blue/white.
      4. Unplug the unit for 2-3 minutes
      5. Plug the unit and wait for 2 minutes for the device to go back online.
      If that does not work you can proceed with the steps below.
      Step 2:
      1. Have the Wi-Fi router Password near you
      2. Go to the Flo Device app and log into the account (If you are logged out)
      3. Click on the Home Screen and under My devices click on your name Flo device
      4. Click Device Settings on the top right corner, then Network Setting Change
      5. Then proceed with the following steps in the Flo App.

      @@moenfaucets I eventually got it connected and working with the home system but it’s not boomer friendly
      It should come with a more simple connection option etc
