I'm trying a "new" video format...I hope you'll enjoy it. Also, any feedback is deeply appreciated, 10x! P.S. Not all props in Duke Nukem 3D are 2D...correction for 04:40
I played it on release, I had a pentium 133, before I had internet, no mobile phones & I didn't bother with a mouse, it was amazing, i also had a Ford XR3 I at the time, looking back I think I'd peaked
Early Quake players typed "+mlook" and "crosshair 1" in the console to enable mouselook/crosshair everytime they start the game. Also it can be automatically enabled by editing the "autoexec.cfg".
Great to see you upload. This is a game that i should definitely play. Around my teen years I've seen my uncle play Unreal Tournament, these days I'm playing Unreal Gold.
Oh holy hell, awesome retro PC and video! GL Quake is as classic as it can get o such a PC I'm in the process of building a Pentium II retro PC as well but missing a few critical components to get it started - still looking for a small "beige" case and a power supply
I didn't play any Quake games until 2001 because I wasn't yet into first-person shooters until I played Counter-Strike. 😅 The first Quake game I played was Quake III Arena and then Quake II. I also had both of the expansion packs for Quake II, The Reckoning and Ground Zero.
Yes you can, in software mode you can use Winquake or if you have a 3D card you can use GLquake or any old source port like TomazQuake, Telejano or Darkplaces (old versions)
@4:50 no that box is not 2d, 3d have you ever played duke nukem ? level 1 very first secret is there that everyone knew. even me who had no PC at those times to play duke.

I also still have my CRT from 2001... 😍
I just finished the Nightdive version last month while QuakeCon was happening.

GL-Quake was awesome because it was so silky-smooth (my PC wasn't able to software-render the game in high-res/high fps) You bring back the memories😊
I love your story about your old CRT saved by your Dad! Thank you for sharing this video with us!
6:23 the lava thing does have an effect on the wall in software mode if I'm not mistaken.

I enjoyed the video. Thanks for posting. Did you enable fastvid to get better performance in Quake?

Quake cost $50 at release? Thats pretty incredible, must be like $130 in todays money.
"The next episode, me and snoop" 😂😭
Can I run this game with window xp sp3?

"I can't paint the emotions, the excitement, that were all around me" then.
You just summed up how probably 97% of viewers of this video feel.
Very retro keyboard
