This song is such a fun mix of concepts. The story of the song is that the narrative voice wants to destroy everything but they want to be good but they can't control the urge to destroy. They got inspiration from the bombings George Bush was doing during the iraq war and how he was no different than teenage boys rampaging through a town. Paul had a very interesting interview about this song among other things. And the album that this song came from had 5 music videos which is half of the album so I imagine they had to cut from somewhere. Thank you for the video!

The 1st person I thought of looking at Till's outfit was Aunt Lydia from The Handmaid's Tale! If u haven't seen it on Hulu, it's a great series about a misogynistic, religious dystopia. The women on side stage are probably lucky wives & daughters! If memory serves, the daughter that Till raised as a single father turned out to be Richard's 1st daughter. I'm 95% sure my daughter got me the 25th anniversary rerelease CD of Herzelied instead of an Asian foot massage/reflexology appointment in town. Maybe she'll get me both!! 🤞🤞

Till's ex wife then married Richard andthey had a daughter together but because the wife never changed her name. Richard's daughter has the second name Lindemann. So Till has 2 children. And one of Richards children has the second name Lindemann but she doesn't share blood with Till. Just the same mother as Till's biological daughter. Hope that makes sense. Richards daughter also songs in the Rammstein song Spieluhr

For those who always wanted to know which song suicide bombers hear just before they blow themselves up. Little Joke: What does a suicide bomber's wife say after her husband blows himself up? Just now he was lying next to me, now he lying everywhere.
In 2016 the group was not comfortable playing this song in Paris because of the 2015 terrorist attacks. A few days before the concert, the management asked what french fans thought about it and if they should play it during the show or not. Fans requested that the song be played anyway. After the final explosion, the Eiffel Tower - Peace logo was displayed on the stage video screens (the one that was trending at the time in support to the victims).

For a slightly different take on the band members, here's an interesting older interview with Richard about his struggles with drugs, depression and less than stellar childhood.
