  • Therapist analzyes Dicke Titten by Rammstein to discuss the ways in which people often prioritize superficial qualities over actual compatibility and they often do that to try to validate something within themselves.

"Zeit" (Time) is in my opinion one of the most impressive songs by Rammstein, also because of its message. However, the birth scene is not suitable for everyone.
Rammstein is one of the most controversial and intelligent bands of our time. Very often there are hidden messages in their lyrics and what at first sounds very banal or superficial is, at second glance, profound social criticism or addresses other serious topics such as mental health.
A good example is the song "Ich tu dir weh", where it sounds for a long time as if another person is being tortured, until the lyric line "ich seh im Spiegel dein Gesicht" (i see your face in the mirror) makes it clear that it's about self-mutilation.

Thank you for this great explanation. Not many ppl think of the extra layer of meaning in Rammstein songs. And there are songs based on real live events, like Donaukinder and Rammstein, Wiener Blut, Mein Teil and many other.

I will never understand why is birth such a taboo. Practically all the warm bloodied creatures were conceived and born through the birth canal. In the last 100 years at least 8 BN people were born the same way. Maybe that is when we see the vagina not as an object of lust and pleasure but as it evolved to be : an organ for the reproduction of the species.
I could go on... but I wont.

The fun thing about the video is that he's basically drowning in what he's wishing for but he can't see it. They actually have a lot of deep songs but they can have fun too sometimes ;) If you want one that's about mental health, try "Puppe" or "Angst".

    • @CMSnyder80
      @CMSnyder80 12 วันที่ผ่านมา +2

I was going to suggest Puppe...not just the story but Til's vocals. Almost approached Korn's Daddy vibes. The live video looks great but the raw emotion you hear in the choruses is much stronger in their official lyric video as it has the studio version and there is just more rawness to it for me.

In German there is an old saying/phrase translated into English it´s kinda "He can´t see the forest because there are too many trees interfering his view"
And that song is exactly about that notion..
The metaphorical "blind" protagonist wants a girl with big boobs so much that it became his obsessive solely criteria for his wished female partner who he can´t find nowhere although every single female in his enviroment has that overwhelming bust.

At 6:10 you get a view of the Edelweiss flower IIRC. That's a protected species of flower. Due to its delicate fragrance and structure it was given as a sign of love and devotion to your crush.
That he steps on it, unseeing, crushing it underfoot, is another symbol of his blindness to the beauty that surrounds him. He even misses the symbol that he could have picked and given it as his opening to the heart of one of the many women surrounding him.
As he crushed it he steps to a cliff's edge, trying to stare blindly into the distance, hoping to find his desire far off, ignoring everything close by.

I was born into music in 92. Appalachian folk music to be precise. I learned mandolin, banjo, and guitar from a young age. I picked up anything that any artist would call an "instrument" along the way. I'm 32 now. I've fought my whole life against trauma, addiction, abuse, lawlessness, and the morbid terrors outside of my world. Music is my passion and my life. I'm very familiar with many artists assorted over many genres. Currently exploring metal. Anywho, what I wanted to get at was it's hard for me to find something that makes me chuckle, and this channel and the music has been very beneficial to that. Thank you and have a beautiful day! ✌️

As a therapist, you really need to respond to Puppe or Wiener Blut by Rammstein, you would definitely have a lot to analyze there. I can hardly wait.

So to add, the old sleazy geezer looking for a hot girl is kind of a recurring theme in European folklore. Finnish Kalevala has the wise old sage/chief Väinämöinen beating his opponent Joukahainen in a spell casting fight and blackmails him to give hjs sister Aino to him as a wife so he won't kill the Joukahainen. Aino does not want to be the bride of this old man so she drowns herself in a lake. A painting of this is maybe the most iconic Finnish classical painting.

Years ago I wanted to make a life with someone, she was busy. Recently she was bragging about making more money than me. A week later she was fired. Still wants to run me by remote control. It's so cute everytime she is reminded that even my wife wouldn't own me, and you had better things to do than be my wife. Keep on doing them better things, as unsatisfying as they turned out to be. I got a dog. Yup.

  • @donkfail1

Sure, that he's blind to what's all around him is one thing. But I also hear a great message. Instead of searching for someone who is perfect in every detail, he only want one thing. That is modesty in his requirements. The search for perfection, both in yourself and others, can ruin so much.
Of course, his "needs" are very superficial. I'd rather have someone with emotional or intellectual traits matching mine. But at least he knows his priorities. It's worse to not even knowing or admitting what you really want.

For what it's worth most of Rammstein's videos have German subtitles, but under the cogwheel in TH-cam the English translator is pretty darn good.
Need to do Zeit, Zick Zack, Angst , Puppe or Mein Herz Brennt

Ramstein are great but 'Electric Callboy' are the most entertaining band from Germany right now, not put out a bad song in last 3 years and live shows just a massive rave of metal & EDM riffs that fill audiences with a euphoria 😄🤘 Check out "We Got The Moves" or "Hypa Hypa".
