Your interpretation is interesting. I always thought the girl opened her eyes and left him, because she saw all the destruction he caused. But thinking of this event is the cause of his rage is awesome and even deeper. When both of them are blind, he could have make a wish to see with his own eyes, but he made this wish for the girl he loves, and she left him, because she didn't like what she saw. He wasn't able to make her his own. And now he destroys everything that doesn't belong to him.
The ending (which is the part thats not in the live version) is a tough one. My theory is that he met a girl who is blind, and knows what he feels and goes through, and as such share the same pain (as the lyrics go). Because she is blind, she cant see who she is talking to. But as soon as she opens her eyes she sees the monster she was talking too, so she ran away as far as possible, most likely out of fear and terror.
