Nice looking fruit!! I like this variety ,I had a late start last year and ripened some very late(end of October) and maybe because of the cold weather it was dark red inside ,this year I don't have a lot of fruits on the tree but the few I have are good size now and will ripen under better weather conditions!
I hope that yours has same flavor in ground. Figs can vary in taste in different locations. This was the the only one tasting like this (had 3 or 4 this season), but knowing what I did gives me confidence that I can repeat same results next season. For me, this fig is worth keeping if I can taste only one fruit like this per season.
Interesting! Coffee/nutty berry honey. I have a this verity but have not had fruit yet. Hopefully this year. I’ll have to check the leaves on mine. Can’t wait for fig season here. 😋🪴🪴🪴
Ponte Tresa is pretty good for humid climates. The skin is tough and leathery, doesn't taste great for me (maybe that's where you're getting coffee from), but that's why it handles the rain well.
Thank you for sharing your experience. Just shows how a different climates and growing conditions can affect flavor in figs. I will try to further describe coffee taste. It wasn't bitter, but pleasant and aromatic, like a hazelnut latte. I only had one fig, had to eat the other half the next morning, and again I had that similar experience, perhaps I could add an agave notes.
@@backyardfigs Did you try it without any of the skin? For the most part that's how I eat my PT, and it's delicious. It has a void in the middle that gets filled with syrup when fully ripe, and it melts in your mouth.
You definitely know the right time to pick a fig. Awesome PT. Thanks for sharing.
Thanks for this awesome review. It's justo what i wanted to hear and see 👍
Thank you. This variety is in my top 10 this season for its unique flavor.

I saw your video on pollination, were you able to pollinate PT?
@@backyardfigs Yes ,I don't have that many on my tree but the one on Carlos house is loaded with figs and was also hand pollinated !
That's awesome! Looking forward to those videos.
great review, thank you
Thanks for watching!
I rooted one cutting this year, it is in ground. I cannot wait to get some fruit from it.
Are you in the wasp region?
Looks wonderful, can’t wait to get fruit from mine

I bought figs the other day from the store, just too ease my mind. They don’t taste the same. Still waiting for the video for spraying for insects.❤

PT improves with age and needs more time to be productive, but it's worth waiting for, in my opinion (and Dan Foster's ).

@@onortosu No, I did like the skin.

Yes, in indoor grow room. Please check my earlier videos. Thanks.
