My trees are treated with sulfur prior to being moved into grow room. Occasionally, spider mites and scales will be detected on some trees and treated. Fungus gnats are controlled with Mosquito bits or dunks, and in smaller numbers they are not harming larger trees.
Are vasilika variety a common fig? As in they are self pollinating? Do they require the wasp for pollination? And what zones are they Cold hardy up to?
Yes , it is a common variety, no need to be pollinated. I am in zone 6b and my trees are not in ground, not sure about hardiness of VS. But, like most of varieties, if lower than 8a, some form of protection could be needed for zones 7b, probably for 7a, and definitely for lower zones.
