  • Watch as I delve into the world of abstract painting using a simple art prompt as my inspiration. In this quick demo video, I share my unique process of transforming a sketch of cracks in the pavement into a mesmerizing mixed-media abstract painting.
    I first start by taping off an 8x10 inch section of my sketchbook page with yellow FrogTape - amzn.to/3IrmW7m
    ➡️50 Abstract Warm-Up Painting Prompts etsy.me/49utFsk
    To bring this artwork to life, I first selected a palette of acrylic paint colors. The paints I chose were a harmonious blend of Yellow Ochre, Burnt Sienna, Payne's Gray, Titanium White, Permanent Magenta, and Light Blue Permanent.
    The art prompt acts as my guiding light throughout this creative exploration. After putting down a basic background layer of yellow ochre and burnt sienna, I loosely sketch out the cracks in the pavement with a charcoal pencil. That serves as the foundation for my artistic expression, igniting a spark of inspiration that fuels my imagination.
    Immersed in the realm of mixed media art, I blend different artistic elements to enrich the painting's texture and depth. The amalgamation of acrylic paint, alongside cardboard and newsprint, adds a captivating dimension to the artwork.
    Throughout this video, I share my painting ideas and thought processes, unveiling the steps involved in the creation of an abstract painting. The abstract form allows me to break free from the constraints of reality, allowing the emotions and energy to take center stage in the piece. With each brushstroke and every artistic decision, I strive to capture the essence of the art prompt while infusing it with my unique artistic perspective.
    Join me for this demo, where abstract painting takes on a new life with a simple painting prompt. Witness the captivating interplay of acrylic paint, mixed media art, and the power of an art prompt as it guides me through the intricate process of creating a mesmerizing abstract artwork. I hope this visual adventure will leave you inspired and captivated.

    Looks great. I love that you put classified over the bullet. It just reminded me that it could be like top-secret or something. If it were me making that Painting I probably would’ve put a bull’s-eye over the word bullet, but you’re so nuanced in your painting style you know exactly what to do, that isn’t cliché.

    Really like this piece. Love the shapes and feel.
    It reminded me of a pile of books, that was sparked by the cardboard looking like the end of pages.
    I like the way you used the words over one another. I'll have to have a play around with that and see what comes up.

    Layering another word over over "BULLET" was genius....it definitely helped with tying the piece together with the paint on the lettering. If anyone has any suggestions as to how to make separating cardboard I'd love to hear it. Especially for finer corrugations.

    • @chrisloudart
      @chrisloudart  ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Thanks, Laurie! My method for separating cardboard is to brush water over the area you want to separate, wait a few minutes and then peel it back. The water loosens the glue in the cardboard.
