  • I don’t know that I told this story very clearly in the video, but my mental and physical health has been a long term journey (as it is for most of us) and it’s another huge piece of my life, that affects my very life.
Having POTS syndrome for almost a year has really woken me up to listening to my body and understanding what it needs and what I need as a person to not just survive but to actually function and thrive.
POTS is a form of dysautonomia which is a dysfunction the autonomic nervous system which regulates all of the involuntary processes of the body such as heart rate, blood pressure, rate of breathing, etc.
My experience and understanding knowing many others with this syndrome is that there can be a lot of factors that stress your body out to the point where it basically affects your nervous system and causes it to dysfunction and work backwards.
There are different opinions and thoughts, but I know that anxiety, trauma, doing too much, blood sugar, and stress, possibly hormones and more have triggered POTS for me. (I don’t know if covid or long covid is a factor for me, but it’s possible and is what triggers POTS for a lot of people).
I’ve gotten medical testing done and will continue getting things checked as needed but ultimately am doing things holistically and am seeing improvements.
It’s both a mental and physical practice of retraining your mind and your body to trust that you’re safe.
I’m working with a homeopath and doing a lot of emotional and self-worth work with coaches and mentors, and managing my energy, stress and time and also very importantly working on my music and getting it out there which is very fulfilling and healing💜
P.S. If you or someone you know has POTS and would like to reach out, I’m happy to help and give you my resources including a POTS group which focuses on the mindset of healing and getting to a state of being fully recovered.
