- The Phoenix State is an English Documentary based on the floods that hit the southern state of Kerala in the year of 2018. This journey unravels a story of how the excess downpour brought a state to it's knees, submerged it and how it's people out of their sheer will power and undying spirit resurrected themselves. By standing their ground in the face of unprecedented danger, the state rose up from the ashes like a Phoenix.
Phoenix State was officially selected for IDSFFK 2019 and various other documentary festivals.

This documentary is 100 times better than a commercial version. This is what we people must encourage more.
I wasn't there when floods hit, but my prayers did always. This documentary tears me apart, seeing the hardship, struggle, and agony that went through. Although, I am so happy that we resurrected together holding each other's hand regardless of caste, sex, color, and religion.

Introduction part was okay, but I really felt in my heart towards the end.
The intro part where the uncle asks for help, it literally made me cry when I watched it during the time of floods.
Always ❤️ Kerala for the resurgence it has always shown!! God bless Kerala and for that matter the entire world. Nothing is bigger than you God and hope we learned our mistakes and never ever repeat them again!!

Every news and documentry did not mention the efforts the off-road community did for Kerala in the flood they were the one's who supplied all the food and ,travelled hilly areas for the rescue.

Poor damage management by both
Kerala and tn government and unplanned urbanization is result in this kind of flood but we blame nature and tell climate has changed
Nothing had changed this rain happened 1924,1934,2013 but government not taken precautions before monsoon
Every year there is monsoon brother, this because of 42% of more rainfall than normal in August just think.
What does TN have to do anything with this? Keralites have become like Pakistanis who puts the blame on neighbouring countries for every despair they face.
Major reason for the loss of property and lives was illegal land encroachment by the locals beneath the dam area. And let me not start with the resort mafia in the area. Though it's true that Kerala received 100% excess rainfall that year, this could have been easily averted if you had good water management system that drains excess water into the sea. You don't have any flood control reservoir neither a good drainage system.. Most of the inhabited land is close to to the coastal and down hill areas so water shouldn't have stagnated. Stop destructing your fragile ecosystem and stop putting blame on neighbouring states for your incompetence. Your governments ridiculed Kasturiragan report and soon reaped the benefits in 2018v
