      This is good info. Bruce tends to dig a lot deeper for info than the average Facebook forum member 🤣 Thanks for linking to the video Frankie. It’s great to get some more positive info into the debate.

    I’m furious about the cancellation of bus services in Bali. I loved those buses! Instead of finding ways to increase ridership, they simply shut down the entire system. Hoping for the central government to take care of things for them is a cop-out, the Ministry of Transportation subsidized these services for years and they have other provinces to worry about.
    The responsibility of public transport in Bali lies with the provincial government, it’s how it works everywhere in Indonesia. Not like they lack the fund for it if it’s not for the rampant corruption. Bali’s traffic is a nightmare, and these incompetent officials don’t seem to care as long as they’re not stuck in it themselves.

      @SanurDiaries  13 วันที่ผ่านมา

      Yes, I know that in other provinces the provincial governments used the central governments foundation to continue on the bus service. Bandung is a classic example of this.
      I’m assuming they received all the actual buses for free and that would be one of the biggest expenses

      @ Ugh, I have a personal vendetta against Bandung and West Java because they really have the worst public bus systems-like, seriously 😂 . But yeah, surprisingly, Central Java and even South Kalimantan (which are way less flashy than Bali) have pretty decent ones.
      If I’m not mistaken, Bali got its buses for free through the Ministry of National Development Planning. The central government, via the Ministry of Transportation, handles the infrastructure, but everything else-like operations-is up to the provincial government to manage.

      If you see me it will likely be midway through a run. By the time I’m swinging past Inna Sindhu I already look wrecked, so just call out and I’ll give a thumbs up. 😎

    Great video Adam
    As to the buses
    On one hand the traffic is absolutely crazy now in many directions down south, and this proposal to a so called train to help to remove some of the congestion (not for a longtime if at all and only in 1 linear direction)
    The Forcing of these people to get there own transportation now
    😂😂😂😂
    Oh 😮boy

      @SanurDiaries  12 วันที่ผ่านมา

      Yeah the cancelling of the buses is definitely unfortunate. Hopefully they come up with a solution soon.

    I agree Adam....heaps of great accommodation down south and a MULTITUDE of fabulous non beachfron restos.....think Patio, Little India, Hanoi, Wg Baby Monkeys, Bella Italia Saigon, Gardenia Guesthouse, Jungle Tree, Jepun, HEY ni hao and looking forward to trying new Kamboja homestay warung.

      We are staying at Kamboja Homestay, I didn't know that we had a Warung attached, that's great. I can't wait to explore the south area. I had no idea it was so good.

    Great info for my upcoming Sanur visit, thanks mate. I haven't stayed in the Sanur part of Bali since the late 80's, so I'm looking forward to it. I love my tahu isi and nasi Padang too having lived in Sumatera for many years.

    Will be interesting to explore areas nearby as alternatives to sanur ..it seems like sanur is becoming very popular and expensive..it will be interesting to try and determine where the next big area will be ?

      Yeah it’s a tough one. The beach actually heads right up the coast and there are some nice undeveloped locations up there. I wouldn’t mind heading right up there on the way to Candi Dasa.

    We are meant to be staying at the Parigata Villas in May and are very concerned regarding the construction do you think this will be very disruptive to our stay as it borders on the hotels land?

    • @SanurDiaries
      @SanurDiaries  12 วันที่ผ่านมา +1

      As of today, there is no construction happening and not much demolition. The fence has already been built and things seem quiet for the time being. We I were staying in the area today, I would be absolutely unconcerned. No one knows what it will be like in May.

    Hi Adam. My wife and I are staying in Sanur at the beginning of September. We have four adult children with their kids. So basically, eight adults and four kids. Just wondering what your recommendations are for accommodation. We have a villa called Tamarind Villa which can accommodate all of us. Have you heard of it, and do you think that there are better alternatives? This trip is a once of ge together for my family, their partners and children. Love your videos buddy. Cheers
    Eddie.

    • @SanurDiaries
      @SanurDiaries  13 วันที่ผ่านมา

      I don’t know anything about Tamarind Villa, but finding accommodation to house all of you is going to be difficult unless you just book a bunch of rooms in a normal hotel.
      Just looked up Villa Tamarind and the location looks good. I think it should be ok.

    Hey mate have you had a look at Kesiman? Local friends of ours live in the area east of the bypass and are building homestay accommodation. One of which we will rent. There are a few plots of land for sale around there and I feel it will be the next boom area as the beach front is almost totally bare, 3 minutes north of the harbour 👍

    • @SanurDiaries
      @SanurDiaries  13 วันที่ผ่านมา +1

      Yeah I’ve seen a lot of land in that area and it is slightly cheaper. The only problem is that my number 1 priority is to avoid traffic. I moved to Bali from Java because of traffic amongst other things and it’s just so important for me to avoid during my daily routine.
      So yeah. That means anything north of the harbour is out of the question unless it’s something so far away that I won’t be doing my daily activities in Sanur.
      Thanks for the tip on Kesiman though. It’s definitely worth consideration.

    • @thechallans
      @thechallans 13 วันที่ผ่านมา +1

      @ yeah the bypass gets quite brutal along that stretch and you’ve got to make that u turn but we’re coming from Brisbane which is somehow worse 😂 good luck with your search mate you’ll find yourself at the right place at the right time 👍

    Shame about the buses, they were a fantastic option, which are offered in most destinations. Plenty of eating options, even if you walk or taxi to another.
