    That was the best and easiest tutorial so far thanks.👌

    If this is needed, why doesn't it come on the esc's from the manufacturer?

    • @S9RUT
      @S9RUT 2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      ESC's usually do come with capacitors inbuilt, like thr Max5 comes with 6 of them. But an added external cap pack will add more protection against ripple, and will be the first line of defence. So if it pops, it's not the entire ESC that needs replacing, only the soldered cap pack.

      They should come pre-installed. I think they don't so people who are not used to doing it F up there ESC so they will have to buy a new one.

      Bc they want you to keep buying their replacements. I'm telling you I got into this hobby about 8 months ago and within 2 days I simply realized that this is exactly like computers if you build your own it is way cheaper. So when you compare the things that come with the RC trucks especially the ESC I got a video on my page about it and I'm making another one right now. Because my 35 amp 2 s that's what it says on the ESC but the capacitor is a 25 volt and I've been running a 4S on it with no problems. But I want it to last so now I'm adding to 35 volt which will be completely fine. 😊

    This is the exact way i did mine but i saw videos of people soldering their cap pack to the battery and esc? So i dont think thays effectovr rightM

    Could you put it right at the end of the red and black where it actually connects because you can pull back that little sleeve and just put it on there or is that too far away

      THe power capacitor is "most effective" on the ESC, or as close to the ESC as possible. They almost "don't work" when installed farther away.

    My iron nets my solder just fine but it won’t melt the solder on the esc to install my new capacitor. I don’t understand why every item for an rc car immediately needs upgrades. Stock is always junk and I’m tired of it. Just charge more for a good product in the first place

      Electronics sold internationally are required to use "lead free" solder now and it tends to be higher temp than standard solder. A little hotter and some flux will take care of it most times.
      Always a battle of 'price point' and features. Not everyone needs the added power caps and are focused on price.
      Thank you for watching!

    How do you figure capacitors smooth out current when u are talking about tiny capacitors! Connected with tiny wires and hundreds of amps. I get that there is a lot of high current switching in the vfd but if u want to smooth out current, why not use an inductor and if it helps the speed controller (vfd) to have better current filtering, why didn't hobbywing include this in the circuit. Also if proximity of the capacitor bank is relavent, that would suggest its acting as a voltage device since current stays the same at any point in the circuit yet voltage could be diff depending on where you measure due to voltage drop.

      Exactly what I was wondering, that high currents need thicker wires and high voltage won't need.

    Hey man, I just got the max 10 sct , do I have to install the included cap pack? I'm asking because it's one of the inline modules on the little electric board with curved connectors where the leads sit in and it's hard for me to solder that properly. Ive noticed in a lot of the max 10 review and install videos on TH-cam they aren't installing them.

    You actually only need caps if your ripple is over 5-10% if you arent getting over 5% you don't need a cap, so adding a cap would be wasting money. Don't just throw a cap pack in if you don't actually need it, spend the money on something else you actually need.

    Hey Charlie do you have any videos of replacing on/ off switch on xr8 pro? Mine is a gen 2 but I assume they’re probably the same since they have the same switch

    What size pack should i use for a Max10sct. I didn’t buy it from HW so I didn’t get all the brand new stuff in the box. Thanks for any help. Great instructions.

    Sticking a wire into a glob of solder isn’t a very good connection. This is definitely not the video I needed. I have a stock spec esc that needs an upgraded capacitor

    Hey, Charlie, should you add a capacitor to a crawler esc ? Are there any benefits in doing so?

    • @S9RUT
      @S9RUT 2 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      Not needed. Crawlers don't provide enough amperage to have any voltage ripple.

    @HOBBYWING Official:
    Would the Axe 3300kv R2 benefit from something like this?
    Edit: I have this installed in the RC4WD Tf2 lwb.
