For the water bags you get with the Sawyer Squeeze….i use them as a lightweight way to carry extra filtered water. Agreed the CNOC vecto is the best thing to fill with dirty water but use the supplied Sawyer bags as extra filtered capacity. Super light and compact when not in use. Plus, with my colour coding system, blue means clean water, orange (on my CNOC) means dirty water.
To me walking the trail would be a vacation I use to work with a jack Hammer above my head and I worked on the pct near Palm Springs I loved it it was like summer camp but paid
If you don't like the Sawyer bags, what you could do is keep one and leave one in the hiker box. That way you'll have a backup, and so will someone else
Greetings from Scotland 🏴. Really enjoying the videos thanks for sharing. Btw cnoc is pronounced like the word knock , its Gaelic for small hill. 🙂
How do you stand wearing the hat all the time? Maybe I have a sensitive head but I don't think I could wear a hat every single day. I'm hoping to do my through hike next year, thanks for sharing your journey!
So great to see you continuing on the trail. Really fascinating to watch the landscape you hike through now. I have only hiked in Point Reyes and Joshua Tree in California so seeing Norcal and the Sierra is always really cool to me. Very fun midpoint dance!
Was so looking forward to watching your video this week. Brave walk through the “bog”, but how did your wet shoes feel for the rest of the hike after that? I hope your shoes were dry by the next morning🤞. And, although you said you were a bit frightened with the bear, your face looked calm throughout👍. I also loved your “half way” dance, what a great accomplishment 🎉🥾. Thanks for “bringing us along” on your adventure👏👏
Another great video, Krista, well done! I continued to be impressed by how organized you are and have been in your journey. Must have taken gobs of time for all of this!!!
I really enjoyed this video, Krysta!! It has a little bit of everything from the bear encounter 😬 to your super cute halfway dance 🕺 … that made me laugh and I’m so happy for you!! Thank you so much for taking us along and I look forward to your next video!!🤍
Minute 3:31 was super exciting because that's my birthday you filmed on so glad to see you were having a good time as well! I'm planning my first section hike of the AT in May and have heavily considered vlogging it and your style is one of my favorites, thanks for being a great content creator!
Only bummer in your Northern cal portion of your hike was that we didn't see much in the way of views of Mount Shasta or mount Lassen, even though you had some clear days and with the rains that you had at times there must have been some fresh snow on both of those.
I listen to so many! I'm really into podcasts! Something Was Wrong, We Can do Hard Things, Normal Gossip, Financial Feminist, Canadian True Crime, Norah Jones Playing Along, Someone Knows Something, The Truth, This is Actually Happening.
Is it wrong that I was more scared of the bog than the bears lol? Also do you remember about how long you had to hike on the side trails to reach water?
The “made it half way” dance made me smile!! I look forward to your videos every Sunday!! ❤
Loved the way you put that video together, short, direct & to the point. Well done, & looking forward to the next segment. Thank you...

Love seeing the restock!
I’m not even an outdoorsy person and I LOVE watching your videos. I don’t even like picnics but love watching your adventures.
Great content. I noticed your trowel bungied to you water bottle. Great idea? Perfect for a bidet user. I'm going to do this.

Soooo it’s just a big excuse to binge on Candy all day everyday 😂. Thank you for taking us along with you , Cheers
Try a solar panel, they work, light, inexpensive

Greetings from Perth,Australia! All the best for the second half Krysta.🇦🇺

Yay, episode 11! Celebrating your achievements 🎉🎉🎉
What podcasts do you listen to on the trail?
I listen to so many! I'm really into podcasts! Something Was Wrong, We Can do Hard Things, Normal Gossip, Financial Feminist, Canadian True Crime, Norah Jones Playing Along, Someone Knows Something, The Truth, This is Actually Happening.
Yay half way.
Do you have a link to the map you showed?
Yay!! No sorry, I don't have a link. I just show the region on the map and screen record it!
@@KrystaNorwick Ah cool, I just wondered where you brought the map from.
What a luck to see a bear.
Is it wrong that I was more scared of the bog than the bears lol? Also do you remember about how long you had to hike on the side trails to reach water?
Not at all, that's exactly how I felt! The side trails varied a lot in length. Some were a few miles, while some were less than a mile!
Great video, thank you for sharing 🎉
great video....ty
❤❤❤
Did you ship your lighter bag home?
I shipped it to my friend's house and then gave it to my parents when they met me there right before I started the Sierra!
First
With all the beans you eat, the bear was probably afraid of your farts.
