As someone who passed up on taking an old shop 240zx home to restore many years ago. I massively appreciate the cost of proceeding with the Landcruiser build means to you. And I really look forward to the day you finish this, and get another chance at an old datsun later on, with more experience to do the restoration justice. Good luck, and thank you for keeping this build going, I'm really enjoying following it.
You mentioned a rear diff.... being it's rolling on the 80 chassis, I assume you're just after a diff center. What happened to your 60 diffs, either front or rear 60 center will bolt straight into the 80 axle. Sure they're 4.11 versus 4.10, but you and the transfer case will never notice, with a part time transfer case. Myself and mates have a decade or more running 60 rears, and 80 fronts. With your 80 case, first check it's not in 4WD, as in the front and rear outputs are not locked together. If that's the case, if you can rotate the front output, without the input or rear output rotating, it's a part time case. If you still have them, your 60 series front free wheeling hubs, will bolt on the 80 hubs, in place of the drive flange. If you end up needing it, Marks sell the transfer case part(their name for it escapes me right now) separate, cheaper than the full kit, that comes with chinesium free wheeling hubs. You need finish this, so we can have the Barra versus LS, 60 on 80 challenge.
Keep on the work, your doing great by now. Iam myself working on a hj61. Me and my girlfriend is also about to become parents. But i work on it when i have time. Your videos are great! :)
Awesome job mate, but please don't feel 'pressured' by the socials even if you feel like you owe it to us! Build what makes you happy and if that's a coiled barra 60, then sick! If it's a 260, sick! We're still gonna watch. Onya legend can't wait to see what the future holds for the channel!
@@favouritejay Also harro here, as harro said the big family bus will stick around. think about your kid man, imagine being picked up in a cool vehicle youd be the coolest dad with the biggest truck haha
Glad to hear you’re sticking with it Jay, following along on your updates has been a huge inspiration for my own build. Keen to see what comes next.
Thank you brother. I appreciate the kind words 🙏

Thanks dude. I’ll have a Z one day. Just not today
Glad you're sticking with the Cruiser build Jay, I'm sure another Z will pop up sometime in the future.
Good on you mate!!
Reality is very few guys actually finish projects, underestimating the time effort and money required
Very true, I believe I have received a large dosage of reality with this build. Nevertheless, we stay the course.
We totally get how hard this is, when was our last upload!!! Pumped you’re sticking with it.

Man, Thank you for the advice! Unfortunately the 60 chassis is gone, diffs and all. Dude let’s 100% tee that up one day!
Awesome. Was gutted when I scrolled past this on FB.
Yeah, it just felt wrong posting it
Keep it up bro. Loving the build. Dream of mine to have a 60 series on springs. Living vicariously.
