  • Is there big trouble in paradise? Or is it just people with money arguing over more money?
Shady Dealings, mismanaged money, luxury cars.

Using other LLCs is standard practice for businesses for liability/tax reasons. Additionally, the lawsuit just reads like complaints vs anything actually serious or shady. Seems like the guy just keeps refusing to be bought out.

Not sure why he’s being so stubborn. The guys already has a huge roi. Maybe just wanting easy money.

Since we don't know what the facts are, here's the counterpoint:
If two guys started a brewery out of a barn and grew it into a company that brings $143m in economic impact to their state/towns, then they have the right to spend their money on whatever they want. The plaintiff feels that they are spending "company" money on themselves but as founders, they _are_ the company. Are they paying for cars, houses etc. with company funds or with the millions of dollars that they earned in salary? If the only effort the plaintiff has put into helping the company succeed is his initial investment, his bet paid 85-1 odds. Maybe that's not good enough and the lawsuit is just his next shot at a jackpot.

Sounds like a totally nuisance suit. Tree House is in growth mode (what they have achieved over the last 12+ years is just short of miraculous) - companies in growth mode generally don’t pay dividends. You need to go to Tree House, talk to the employees, drink the beer. I think your perspective on this will change dramatically.

Yeah. I'm not trying to dump on them completely. It sounds like they did a lot for themselves but they're also responsible for the growth. The sole investor who is left just feels like he deserves more for doing almost nothing beside an initial investment. I fully plan on making the trip. Thanks for stopping by and commenting. Cheers!

If you haven't had beer from Treehouse you are greatly missing out. This comes from a guy who has 216 different treehouse beers on his Untappd profile. Soiunds like sour grapes to me!

Oh. This isn’t keeping from them. It’s a bucket list for the summer. I will have the amazing IPA’s they brew.

I live in RI and have been to TreeHouse multiple times. If you come in this area, definitely go to the Charlton, Mass. location. That's their flagship spot. I recommend going early in the day when they open as they can get rather busy in the late afternoon & night time. Better during the week as you can get up to 3 pours where the weekends, you might get limited to only 2 pours.

The Sandwich, Mass. location in Cape Cod is also a great location to visit especially during the summer time

When I make it out I I’ll probably try to hit a few locations. That’s for the recommendation.

It’s wise to have two different LLCs for your company one for the building, the other LLC would be for equipment and other needs. This way, there’s a problem they can’t take the building out from under you they can only take the equipment. And unless this shareholder can prove that he isn’t getting his fair share or what he put into it then he really doesn’t have a case. unless you run a sizable business I want to call another business shady. I don’t see anything shady about what they’re doing. I see somebody who didn’t put a lot of money in a bigger return that he invested
