Mississippi River backwater in northern illinois my buddy caught a 3lb large mouth and a decent bowfin. I backlashed and was sitting in the same spot and while picking my line a northern slammed my bait. That was all within a 5 foot circle.

@@JonBrollin I feel you on that. I used a little duo realis jerkbait at bridgeport Sunday and stuck 6 fish on the same stretch. It’s the only spot I didn’t get blown away. One was around 5. Not the best lake to have a 12 foot boat on 🥴😂
If you want to have better luck with the Peas head down to Broward county around the Coconut Creek, Coral Springs, Margate, Tamarac area in all of the connecting canals. Snakeheads are more abundant down here as well because the water is much wamer than Palm Beach. Best bait to use for Peas is either live shiners or some sort of bright orange and yellow or white jerk bait. Best bait for snakes is a top water frog along any bank and the best bites are on overcast days and just as it starts to rain. Miami probably has the best south florida peas. They are more abundant, much larger, prettier, and more aggresive. Good luck bud!!

Fun stuff, we left Canada last year and spent a month near okachobee, I caught so many cool fish in little canals some I used to keep as pets in Canada, few years back filmed a TV show around Miami for peacock, I loved the video you did where you caught clowns, I used to keep them and snakeheads in an aquarium, now you're catching them, Florida is an snglers paradice..cheers...

A 2.5” paddle tail will also slay juvenile poons and snook. Anytime I’m fishing a small inshore creek or brackish water I downsize because it seems the primary forage in these creeks are tiny minnows. I’m assuming the lack of oxygen has something to do with the absence of larger prey.
My cousins live in Florida. I hit it up once a year. Awesome bass and invasive stuff. But for me the best is some brackish stuff. A little of everything! But when I am there some white mr twisters googan senko style stuff and rapalas produce!

A dot of superglue on the jig head will keep that paddle tail from sliding down the shank of the hook.
