    You have been totally vindicated by this week's FAQ!
    I can only assume you have secreted an Eye of Nochseed onto the inside of John Bracken's sweater.

      I did it last time I was at WHW. He never saw it coming

    You made me excited again for my first ever Warcry warband! (for context I own all bespoke warbands, of which my two favorites, including these, twice). I do believe you're so enthousiastic that it sounds like you're going to use more abilities than the dice I throw in the initiative phase, but what do I know Warcry for me is pure narrative fun. Thanks!

      An ideal turn would be 1 triple and a double, but the rare double triple turns are something special with double Shrike Talon haha. I am a very enthusiastic chap, however 😂
      I’m glad I’ve made at least one person excited to use Corvus Cabal

    I got so excited for their battle trait, then read it again and got let down. Super happy that the community is using the faq wording. My chicken warband is back!!
    Side note: using the spire stalker with the wings from a raptoryx makes a great shrike talon kit bash. Could be helpful for those OG warcry players that have the models.

      I am very confident it will be changed in the next FAQ to reflect modern wording. I suspect Battle Traits were penned a long ass time ago so there’s some weird inconsistencies with modern Warcry haha
      That’s a great conversion idea!

    Just while we're talking about Shrike Talon, the model itself is amazing - that one model is the reason i picked up the warband

    i ran triple talon on tts a while ago when they were 200 points and they were decent, after the faq you can run 8 models and still bless two of them with +1dmg and the other with +1crit. if only i had 3 corvus cabal boxes irl...

      A commenter mentioned converting Spire Stalkers into them by using the Raptor wings from the Chaos Beasts. 3 Talons sound bonkers!

    Wow!, And I think I already own 3 shrike talons! Maybe time to paint them up, even if we dont use blessings here.

    So reading through the rules, I could be wrong but I think it's better if the Battle Trait doesn't get FAQ'd? The current way it works you can make the following happen:
    Start with a unit on the map floor that is not in combat. Activate them, picking move as your first activation. Since move actions can be split into any combination of ways, start by moving normally to within a half inch of a piece of terrain. Switch to climbing, and climb the terrain one quarter inch. Then jump, moving horizontally to be within one inch of a target you wish to fight, and ending your move midair.
    When you end the move action, according to Warcrier, "if a fighter finishes a move action with the center of their base not on the battlefield floor or a platform, and they are not climbing, that fighter falls." The current language of the Battle Trait is: "Add 2 of the Strength characteristics of melee attack actions made by friendly fighters with this battle trait if they fell this activation." Would that not trigger on the situation I outlined above?
    To me seems far easier to trigger than having to finish a move action 2" lower than you started it. In fact that feels more flavourful to me because for the situation where you're just sending a Cabalist into the fight for one attack, so it's like they are using the momentum of that fall in their swing, as opposed to carefully climbing down from some ruins, walking over to an enemy, and somehow hitting harder.
    Hope I'm not way off base in my interpretation of the rules, and thanks for making great Warcry videos.

      The issue with the wording at the moment is the fall requirement. Falling is a specific keyword that triggers in a few specific circumstances. The main issue with it is that you opponent gets to place you within 2” of where you fell so you will never be in engagement range to attack.

    Man I wish the abilities in corvus worked like gorehulk directly where it lets you climb and jump down in 1 action to proc the ability instead of having to start up high and end down low. Way more utility esp with how speedy the shrike talons are

      I assume they did it on purpose to stop them being too insane (they are already insane)

    I always had a question with the Corvus Cabal. Since the enemy places your model within 2" of where you drop, doesn't that lessen their utility? Great video!

      Falling is a very specific keyword that only happens under very specific circumstances. In general? No, your opponent would not place you when using their abilities.
      Rules as written their new battle trait requires Falling, which is why an FAQ is needed to change the wording to reflect every other Corvus ability :)

    Hello Toast, I would like to seek some clarification for the usage of swooping attack, particularly if the Shrike Talon started on the battlefield floor.
    If I started my activation of the ST on the floor, make him climb and cling onto a wall (as mentioned in the video), then use Swooping Attack and use the bonus move action to 'swoop' down, does it trigger the battle trait to gain the +2 Strength? Because from my understanding, the starting position of the model is still the battlefield floor, which means it doesn't end its move lower than its starting position.
    Or, is the new starting position considered to be the position when the model is 'clinging' on the wall?

    • @wargamesontoast
      @wargamesontoast  24 วันที่ผ่านมา +2

      It’s determined per action, so since you’re elevated when you use Swooping Attack :)

      @@wargamesontoast I see, thank you! So it's important to declare the swooping attack ability AFTER using my first action to move up terrain.

    • @wargamesontoast
      @wargamesontoast  24 วันที่ผ่านมา +3

      @charleslim7946 that is correct! You your first action to move and climb 2” up any terrain, then declare swooping attack, and then you get you bonus move, bonus attack, regular attack and +2S buff. It’s really fun to use

      They were included in Briar and Bone.
      However, you can view them all (and all of Warcry’s many rules) on Warcrier. Here’s the link!
