- I decided to try my hand at the viral Walmart fishing challenge! The rules were that I had to purchase 3 baits, which all had to be different types of baits, for $10 or less INCLUDING tax. Then I had to go to the lake, catch a bass over 2 lbs on each bait...all within a 2 hour time period!! Can I beat the challenge???

Invest in a fish grips man, worth every penny, it has a hole for a scale and it makes handling fish easier, plus you don't put big holes in their mouths

My son has caught more bass on those dollar spinners from walmart than any other bait. He has his PB on the white spinner you bought. zip tie is holding the skirt on now because he does not want to get rid of it.
BigT FIshing I bought two a few weeks ago and haven't thrown them because I kind of thought lesser of them because they were cheap. Guess not lol
I'm new to fishing and noticed he didn't use a plastic trailer on it. For some reason I thought you needed one. I take it that is not the case and you can use it as is?
vnlilman on spinner baits you don't have to use a trailer. A trailer hook would be a good thing though. But neither is required. Good luck man.
Use craft wire and i use it to hold skirts up on everything. Spinners, Jigs, Buzz Baits, Chatterbait. It helps alot
Put a copper wire tie instead of the ziptiehold up a little better just my opinion though

When you weigh them by sticking the hook through their mouth, the fish shakes and rip their jaw off. Use the space under there gill flap or by some fish grips. This is how bass rip their jaw off and die. Very dissapointed

there is a space between the gills and the mouth that i use to weigh AND you can use a rapala fish gripper
A lot of times people will use the hole made by the hook set. He may no actually be punching new holes in the fishes face

Yessir...sorry for the confusion. When the water is muddy, I want something that stands out...either very bright like white/chartruese or very dark like black/dark purple. If the water is clean, I want natural hues like watermelon, green pumpkin or anything transluscent.

I use a lot of square Bill's and rattle traps from walmart and have amazing luck with them. Haven't figured out the flipping jig part yet. Think I'm retrieving it to fast

ive caught a ton of fish on those 1.00 spinner baits from walmart lol. they lose the skirt really easy, but they work pretty good.

Hey quick question. I'm thinking about getting the dobyns fury for my all purpose rod 7 foot medium heavy and I was wondering what you thought about them. I've heard they have a soft or slower tip than what they are rated. Do u notice anything? Would you recommend it for frogging, Texas, rigs, spooks, spinner baits, chatters, everything. If not what would u recommend. Thanks. Keep up the great vids
I have most of my luck, believe it or not, with those Walmart/academy $1-$2 spinnerbaits. I run a zoom super fluke as a trailer. I will say they do impress me for the price, but I did have one straighten out on a 5 lb-er. But for numbers I feel like they work phenomenally. Always good content brother.

DON'T do a barbie rod challenge!! This challenge was great, cause it was informative for the limited budget fisherman like me. Like the explanation of why you picked the lures for the lake you were going to. I've been hammering them on a Texas rigged black and blue Havoc Pitboss lately.

Dude the hell with the scale. I say that you keep guessing on the weight as a matter of fact I think that it would be hilarious and should be your shtick to double the weight of the fish. That's right a 2lbs fish just became a 4lbs slaunch. I know that's what I would do. haha. Keep up the good work on the videos and don't change the format and start adding long ass intros that do nothing but delay the beginning of the actual content which is why everyone is tuning in. Having to wait for the commercials is bad enough. Keep up the great channel.
I use the $1 spinners all the time. Yes they work. I add trailers and some I have even painted the blades flat black with 88 cent spray paint from the mart as well. Caught a 3.5lb on one with the painted black blades, no skirt and a craw trailer slow rolling on the bottom

Im glad you made this video to show everybody that you can catch plenty of good quality fish without spending alot of money showing that you dont have to have the most exspensive baits in every single size and color, you should come fishing in sourh alabama one day

Those $1 spinner baits are great for the price. Aside from the skirt that seems to just disappear after a few hits, they pull fish. Could be heavier though.
What I've noticed is that Wal mart has switched over to ozark trail and south bend brand lures. Those aren't really brands I associate with fishing. Camping yes, not fishing.
Those are they're private brands, really expanding on them since they got them in. Not bad quality for the money either.
