As a mixed race individual in rural Canada, I can honestly say I've never had any issues with the RCMP. I know a lot of local officers by name, and most of them are easy to get along with.
@@FrontlinePros I support the police and all that they do, but the thing I cannot stand by with is when they let fellow officers off the hook for aggressive and abusive behaviour. There is an excellent documentary that the Fifth Estate did on CBC a while ago that covers this.
As always, I appreciate your excellent anaylsis and summation. I agree with you, those that have quit to show "resistance" to change are not the officers we want anyway. Too many good officers have had their jobs undermined for too long by poor commanders and zero accountability.
The longer that those who are supposed to be held to a higher standard continue to hide from and avoid accountability, the more the accountability will shift to the legislators. - There's legislated lack of accountability common across North American policing forces. In Toronto the SIU have effectively no power to even demand written notes from officers under investigation. Why are police acts not being reviewed to ensure that civilian oversight have actual powers to correct? - It should be highlighted that in some areas of North American policing, IQ caps are tacitly or explicitly present and prevent critical or independent thinking - it's not just militarization, but indoctrination and radicalization within those policing forces. These are just some of the systemic issues that can't be 'weeded out' for, and need to be addressed at the roots.
The only thing I want everyone to know is that you cannot put blame on the family of police officer. I have heard of bullying of police officer family because the police officer may have made a mistake and they blame the family of this officer. We all have to treat everyone with respect and allow the justice to be server by the court system. I do agree that the changes needed to be brought in for both sides and that any injustice needs to brought to light and dealt with and if that person police or not does something wrong should be brought to justice. Even the judge needs to be looked at as well to make sure they are not taking one side of any system. If someone is in the system of justice they need to be just in all situation. Have no opinion and look at all facts. Not bring in any basis in any situation if they believe they will not be fair to both side they need to say something and make sure the person that does replace them will be just for both side. This is where we are in this world now. Opinion and belief cannot be used in the court system. Facts needs to be used. The next thing that needs to change is when someone is being stalked the person that is the stalker needs to have laws against this behaviour. Either they need to be put into education of EDICATE. What is proper for being around people. What you should do when you think you want to talk to someone or just avoid the situation. We need to stop allowing Stalker to not face something for causing someone to feel not safe. I know it will be a fine line but it needs to be solved so everyone can feel safe. Like if a stalker comes around someone home more than twice then something needs to happen and if they fail to stop then more sever punishment (jail time if required) needs to be used.
Great video. We need public servants, not warriors, on our streets.
Appreciate it. Thanks for watching.

Great to hear, the vast majority are. Thanks for watching.

@@kamrynm9780 Yes, how they are fired and then specifically rehired down the road or in another state. Reminds me of what the Church did.

Thank you for the comment and feedback.

Politicians need to stop using them as a scape goat
Yeah
