This is an amazing band. They all are top notch musicians. The drummer Akane is a beast of a drummer. When Jimmy Page of Led Zeppelin saw Band-Maid live in Tokyo in 2016 said Akane was the reincarnation of John Bonham. Can't think of a better compliment of being compared to John Bonham from Jimmy Page himself.
He took a photo with her and complimented her. He did not say anything about John Bonham. Let’s not keep spreading these things. Does not take away from the fact that Akane is an amazing rock drummer.
Akane always seems to be grinning whenever she drums. I can't think of any musician who consistently shows such joy when playing!
Have You seen Miki Tsunoda in Show-Ya? She seems to always smile behind her drums.
It‘ the same with Senri Kawaguchi, she has really a lot of fun playing...

Pau from The Warning is another one who really shows how much she likes to play. I’d love to see her and Akane play together sometime.
Regardless of the style of song they play, this band makes many, many people smile along with them.

They definitely leaned a little more Pop on this one. They're not a metal band, so at some level it's to be expected. We still get MISA's dancing bass in unexpected places, and the song construction, adding layers through the song to give it a little depth, remains present. Whoever mics the drums for their live shows does a really good job, they're always crystal clear. Weirdly the lead guitar suffers in a lot of their mixes.

Whenever I watch BAND-MAID live they all are smiling as you mentioned. They are all up there having a good time and you cant help but feel good watching them. Great video, great reaction, great song!
