Absolutely loved the presentation - you pulled together so many threads that I thought I knew and then put a whole historical overlay on it - fantastic. We are a Fiano grower/winemaker from Queensland's Granite Belt (high altitude and cool, decomposed granite soils) wine region. We have been growing and making Fiano for about 15 years and it thrives here. I love being in the winery during ferment and getting a nose full of Fiano! I have noticed that it really responds to season - sometimes overwhelmingly floral/fruit and then sometimes a little austere. Beautiful, beautiful grape and wine - like little balls of sunshine! Oh thank you so much! QLD Fiano is definitely a vibe, no doubt!

I’ve had two Italian Fianos and loved them both - similar to a Viognier mouth-feel wise, nice citrus notes. I would love to try Aussie Fiano, will be on the lookout for it here in the states!

I've got one hanging out in my cellar. It's a 2018 Donnachiara Fiano di Avellino which looks to be about 4-5 years from the peak of its window.

Not ordinarily a white wine lover, have ordered four bottles because of its provenance. Look forward to trying it. Thanks for the introduction.

Recently had a Fiano Sannio, and my goodness real bang for the buck. Rounded, floral, tropical, with underlying minerality.
What would be the older/oldest Fianos you have tried, and do they hold up?

Brendan tried a Fiano di Avellino from the early 1970s once - matured gracefully! Not dissimilar to Riesling!
