I would recommend high end Austrian SB from Steiermark. There are exeptional wines amongst them that rival Sancerre and that are not boring like a lot of SB can be.
Remember Sancerre don’t even see themselves as making SB. They are not even trying to express the variety. They are trying to make a Sancerre. The fact that it’s SB is secondary. If you want a classy oaked SB from Oz, try Cape Mentelle Wallcliffe.
I like Sauvigon blanc, not as much as whites from Burgundy and actually not as much as Muscadet for seafood, it sort of falls into the gap, Sancerre is a great wine, but for normal quaffing a £6 bottle from the supermarket is just fine

Loved this. My favorite grape, thanks for the overview! I know you didn’t shout out Australia specifically, but Murdoch Hills is quite good.
I love Southern Right Sauvignon Blanc from the Heaven on Earth Region of South Africa.
Sauvillanche 🤣 Love me a savvy-b, last one i had was South Island's "White Mist" (lighter in alc) Savvy-B

All super fair points!
Sam Vincuillo makes a mind blowing example in Margaret River.
Great video. Thx! (Just a small remark: I think the Chateau des Sarrins you suggested is actually a vermentino/rolle from the Provence 🙂)
Eek! Right name, wrong image! Chateau de Ceron!!!!
Conveniently forgot to tell us the price for FCotat after giving prices for NZ and Bordeaux 😂
Ha! Convenient indeed!
Whoops!
Recently had Manon's Juno 22 which is a sav/chard mix, but my pick for Aus wine of the year
Oooooft! They live around the corner from Brendan! He'd be stoked to hear that!

Can't agree more on your impolite tasting notes. Sauvignon Blanc is likely one of my least favorite wines.
BUT! It CAN be absolutely AWESOME if you find the right one!
Most Savs just taste like diapers to me.
I think you're tasting Sauvignon Blanc out of the wrong recepticle!
