The Wine The People Want vs The Wine The People Need?
Chardonnay, Gamay, Chenin and Nero Davola is the strongest line up. You cover almost all the styles possible from aged to young whites, the same for reds, sweet wines botrytized ( Chenin) and sparkling. You lack fortified wine varieties and biologically aged wines like sherry( Manzanilla or Fino) or Jura

Came here to see if this was said. Unironically, Gemma may have won. She has arguably the very best red wines from Italy (Barolo and Barbaresco), Spain (Tempranillo), and Portugal (Touriga Nacional). Especially if you consider the blends dominated by the last 2.

@@yriafehtivan It is definitely tough because the grape is quite versatile so the tasting notes and aroma can vary. Here is my tip: Look at the wine list of good French restaurants (Chambers NYC for example) and spend some time looking up what is on those wine lists to see what sounds interesting to you.

Terroir is a mixed bag of tricks. The Burgundian monks have centuries practicing the viticulture rituals, and oenology of fine wine making. This tradition in turn has been de facto •ne plus ultra• Best Winemaking style defining Burgundy wines topography. Ergo, the elegance of Coonawara Cabernet / Merlot based wine. Or the cooler Dujac refinement of Bass Phillip Pinot Noir from Gippsland-Victoria. It’s just dirt, yet what makes it possible are the skilled interferences by the winemakers choices.
