    I was a vegetarian since age 14 and this year at age 29 I decided to begin eating meat because I knew that I could never be healthy on a plant based diet. It is very difficult to be vegetarian and not eat “vegetarian products” which are so processed and loaded with chemicals and soy. Not to mention filling up on sides as your meal like potato salad, pasta, bread. I knew for years that I wanted to stay away from veggie products but these were my protein substitutes and it was hard to have a meal that kept me full without them. I made the decision in January to begin eating meat and switch to a ketogenic lifestyle but it took me months to get passed the mental part and I finally started to implement meat into my diet as of April. As of the beginning of this month I’ve been full keto (I teetered for a while) and kicked my carb addiction and I have never felt better! I have so much energy which is something I’ve lacked for a long time. I’ll never go back! Videos like this are what make my journey easier; being informed and educating yourself is key, I’ve found, to making a lifestyle change, so thank you!

      @@TheeWatchWoman To be honest, I started small. I would take one bite out of a friend's burger or a little bite of someone's steak for a couple of months and would make sure to swallow the small bite. Then I would mix meat into my foods like dice up bacon small and mix it into my eggs. There were certain foods that were much easier to eat right off the bat but it took me a long time to eat something like a full steak. Also, I had a hard time cooking meats at first so I would go for something easier like rotisserie chicken since it was already cooked. Sometimes I would tell myself that I was just eating veggie meat! Other times I would eat it and just keep my brain distracted with something like a good show or conversation. But the more and more you do it, the easier it will get, I promise! Just keep trying and you WILL retrain your brain! Meat doesn't bother me at all anymore, something I never thought I could say. Good luck!!

    I wonder if you could explain something for me. Let me preface this by saying I am now living the keto lifestyle and doing very well. 10 years ago, I nearly died from un-diagnosed diabetes. I became skin and bones and was so weak, I could hardly climb a flight of stairs; I had to pull myself up each step. What I want to know is what happened physiologically to cause that? By the way, the moment a friend tested my glucose level (it was 700+), I immediately stopped eating sugar and starches of any kind (except maybe in green leafy veggies). My first A1c was 7.6 and is now 5.6. I see my doctor regularly and she is fine with the keto diet. I am a huge proponent of keto--it literally saved my life. Thanks for this video.

    As someone who is of Asian Indian descent who has seen many vegetarians grow up to be very successful people and have heard great things from grandparents and great grandparents who lived a great, happy and healthy life despite being a vegetarian for most of their meals, I struggle to understand how they survived so well without animal meats. Dairy has always been a core part of any Indian culture, so that definitely brings in some diversity without consuming meats.
    There’s of course the significant factor that foods back in those days were more nutritious and less processed, and their lives were physically more active. This seemed to suffice to allow them to live a long and healthy life on primarily vegetarian life.
    I’m really putting this out here for argument’s sake to better understand this argument about consuming a non vegetarian diet.

    • @AgnesMariaL
      @AgnesMariaL 7 หลายเดือนก่อน

      I know your comment is a year old already, but you kinda hit the nail on the head when you mentioned dairy... I lived with a Punjabi family for a year, and even though there were only five of them in their household, amerjit bought 10 gallons of milk a week!!! EVERYTHING was made with milk! So, there's your animal fats and proteins right there, for one. For two, the Asian cultures evolved differently from the caucasian/western cultures. I think this is why I feel that I NEED to still have some grains/starches in my own diet, because I am part Indian and Cantonese, and I also cannot live without dairy whereas my Dutch father and one of my brothers cannot tolerate cow's milk.

      @@AgnesMariaLIt's also about farming practices with chemical fertilizers and chemical insecticides making their way into the foods now. Also for people that may have autoimmune issues or inflammatory issues some of the lectins and oxalates in vegetables and fruits cause their issues to flare up. I have that issue. Bella, she has a TH-cam channel called the Steak and Butter Gal, started carnivore from vegan because of some issues. She is doing great and looks great now. I was keto for 5ish years and it was the first time in my life food didn't control me. I was comfortable and eventually ate 2 meals a day and fasted naturally and could go hours without eating.
    I have spent many hours studying HFLC and totally agree with it but
    My confusion is the HCLF people who eat whole foods and control their health issues too, they reverse diabetes and heart disease, etc. I did find being on a HCLF definitely exasperated my carb cravings which have pushed me back to keto cause I can't handle the carb cravings because I feel like I'm binging again and food abscessed. I also had hangry moments and panic eating from hunger.

    • @carnivorewhisperer5823
      @carnivorewhisperer5823 3 ปีที่แล้ว +4

      Even going vegan can improve your health when you quit eating the crap on the Standard American Diet. As you mentioned, it can reverse diabetes, heart disease, etc. The issue is the lack of nutrients you get from plants. Eventually that catches up with you and you start getting unhealthy again but due to malnutrition this time. Also, don't forget about what Dr. Cywes explained. The human body is not suited for large amounts of carbs because we are human, not apes or cows. Fat and protein are both essential to the body, carbs are not. You could not eat a single carb for the rest of your life and you would be fine.
      When the body needs glucose it will take a little of the protein you are consuming and convert it to glucose for that need, so fat and protein are all you have to eat. The bad results of a high carb diet will reveal itself eventually, just like we have seen for years in the epidemic of metabolic illnesses such as diabetes, heart disease, and cancer. Usually this occurs in later years when all those bad choices on what to eat catches up with you. Luckily, the body responds quickly and starts healing itself once we get out of its way and eat a proper human diet. I myself reversed T2 diabetes and HB pressure on keto and then carnivore after I was diagnosed in 2015.

    Other end of keto is represented, e.g., by Dr Steven Gundry, and in the middle you see like Dr Sten Ekberg or Dr Eric Berg. Do you know others in this diversity?

    I’d be interested to hear you view point on the effects of mass produced meats? Yes, we would all love to buy grass fed, Free range and massaged animal products (90% I do) but is that a real possibility for the majority of the populous????

    One thing you do get from plants in large amounts is minerals like Potassium etc. BUT I think if we are to eat only plants it has to be fruits and nuts but even then the fruits and nuts today are not the same as we had back then so it would still not be optimal as primary food sources. Animal FATs and then secondary Animal Proteins are our primary food sources today with a sprinkling of herbs or taste or for medicine.

    • @MouseRata

      ChildOL you can get potassium from meats, that’s why people are able to just eat carnivore without any mineral or nutrient deficiencies.

    I believe that the first animal foods that we ate were fish and the eggs of shore birds. Eating meat came later. Fish eat fish and we once crawled out of the ocean and onto the shore. That is why I eat eggs for breakfast and seafood for dinner. Meat is an occasional food. I'm not a fan of veggies but will eat leafy greens. I like fruits and add tomatoes and English cucumber to my salad. Desert is one cube of strong flavored cheese daily. I find full on keto boring. Anybody else eat like this? Cheers from 🇨🇦 🤗

      Yes. But that's not the problem for the majority of people. The problem is carb excess making a lot of people insulin insensitive. Solve that one first, then you can try getting carbs back in the diet, and at the same time, ensure you don't go back to excess.

    I have a serious question and would love an answer if its possible. I have Acne Rosacea and cystic acne (I’m blessed) and when we were keto my skin exploded. It was swollen, painful and very oily. No skin care routine and medication I had from my GP could get it under control. We had organic meat from a local farm so I am unsure what’s going on (is it the animal hormones/ cortisol?). Any ideas on how to remain keto without this extreme adverse effect? I have had to temporarily halt keto and my skin has "dried up" and improved on the new round of medication. I have even e-mailed Dr. Sandra Lee (pimple popper) for an online consult so the Dutch experts can help me (up until now their approach is very “lets wait and see but try this cream……again”). Thanks in advance. Jennifer

    If you want that from a creationist point of view, here it is: In the beginning man ate exclusively fruit. Then we ate the forbidden fruit which made us smart, but killed off all the bacteria needed to process cellulose. In order to live, we needed the help of animals and the rest of this is addressed by the Doctor...
