Bucket Head was so impressed with the band . That he played a couple of Songs on their Album . Some people say that HaL - Ca is Steve's Vai's Granddaughter 🤘🤘🤘
Haruka wrote this song at age 12. They recorded it at age 14 and she is 15 in this video. Not bad for someone that only started playing at 10 years old. All three are prodigies. Try their song ' Dawn " if you want to hear some master level shredding.
This is high octane, but for high art from them, Gunfire and Church. Taken from their concept album about the Guernica massacre in Basque, Spain in 1937. All three are grads of the Yamaha Institute of Music. 'Asterism' means 'a group of stars'.
welcome to Asterism 🙌 Haruka (aka, Hal-ca) and the 2 brothers (Mio and Miyu) met in 2014 at a music competition , ages 11, 12, and 14 , and have been together since. this one and _155_ were 2 of their earliest compositions. up until their latest album (on which all the songs have vocals) , they've been exclusively an instrumental band. if you want to see the pinnacle of their compositions, i recommend either Dawn or Church -- you won't regret it. (that being said, i don't think they have a single bad song) I do like your Zakk Wylde comparison .... Haruka is certainly a bit of a whammy bar specialist 🤘
The first full Asterism album 'Ignition' is full of relatively traditional heavy metal. Executed at the highest level. Their next two releases, 'GUERNICA' (2020) and 'GUERNICA + a' (2021) were more progressive. They followed that up with an anime/metal cover album titled "Animetic", released on September 9th, 2022. They each chose favorite anime themes to "Asterism-ize". 'unravel', the Tokyo Ghoul theme song is my favorite from that one. The most recent releases are ASIDE, BESIDE and DECIDE. I was lucky enough to see them live in 2019 when they played at a small club in L.A. Still their only West Coast show so far. That was after a bunch of gigs at SXSW in Austin. HAL-CA was recently featured on Rock Fujiyama with Marty Friedman. They jammed together on the Asterism song 'Stars'.
Actually, they headlined the Anime Con in LA last year, and followed up with shows in Santa Ana and New York. There's videos of them busking on Venice Pier and on Sunset Blvd.
Asterism is a force to be reckon with they know how to put on a show, got to see them live back in 2019 by chance at the SXSW music festival and they blew us all away
Congratulations on finding the best new power trio since (in my opinion) Cream. They are an instrumental power trio from Fukuoka, Japan. They consist of: Haruka Noma, guitars (“HAL-CA”) Miyu Yoshinaka, bass Mio Yoshinaka, drums They were formed in 2014 when Noma was 11 and the brothers were 12 and 14 respectively. They were all playing at a talent fair for young musicians in their hometown, when one of the music scouts noticed them, had a hunch and suggested they play together. Most of their current youtube catalogue is fan-made live video footage, much of it at the Hard Rock Café in Fukuoka. There are also a few clips from their one tour in the U.S., when they played Austin and Los Angeles. From the start, they have written most of their own music, covering a wide range of styles. The brothers bring a lot of jazz and funk ideas into their playing. Miyu plays 4,5 and 7-string basses, which are co-lead instruments in his hands. They are all phenomenal talents, but the big draw has been Noma, known by her first name Haruka or by her stage name Hal-Ca. She has been likened to a reincarnation of Jimi Hendrix and Stevie Ray Vaughan, with bits of Joe Satriani, Nuno Bettencourt and Akira Takasaki, among others, thrown in. Even in the Japanese scene, with its overload of extraordinarily technical instrumentalists, she stands out. She also writes most of the band’s music.
