Now if anybody talks about any new and upcoming guitarist, you can tell them you've seen the elephant! Haruka (aka Hal-Ca) was just fifteen when this was recorded. The Lord only knows what she'll be like when she's thirty! As regards "attitude" Haruka is actually a rather soft spoken, polite and deferential young lady.... until you put a guitar in her hand at which point she turns into a raving monster! The other two members of the band are brothers and they were introduced to Haruka when she was just ten years old. They've been playing together ever since. Outside of aficionados of Japanese rock and metal this band is criminally unknown yet, as you rightly point out, they could wipe the floor with the mediocre trash that comprises 90% of the music scene in the West. Thank you to Japan for keeping musical excellence alive.
Try this for a live performance from Asterism

If you thought Rising Moon was mind blowing you've heard nothing!

I truly love watching an unsuspecting reaction to this group.
    They continue to amaze.
I believe that Haruka (HAL-CA) was still only 15 when this was posted. She was born on November 23rd, 2002.
Bassist MIYU (7 stringed bass) is a little older (born on March 12th, 2002), and his brother MIO on drums is about two and a half years older than he is (born on November 14th, 1999).
The first full Asterism album 'Ignition' is full of relatively traditional heavy metal like this song.
    Executed at the highest level.
Their last two releases, 'GUERNICA' (2020) and 'GUERNICA + a' (2021) are more progressive.
The follow up is going to be a Japanese anime x metal cover album titled "Animetic", to be released on September 9th, 2022.
They each chose favorite anime themes to "Asterism-ize".
'unravel', the Tokyo Ghoul theme song is my favorite from the upcoming album, at least so far.

"Rising Moon" was written back in 2015 (when Haruka, the guitarist, was only 12), but the music video didn't get recorded until a few years later (around her 15th birthday), and released in conjunction with their second EP.
What you really want to listen to next is "Dawn", from their first album (Ignition, 2018). It is one amazing song:

Great reaction. Asterism is one my current favorite bands, and Hal-ca is my fave guitarist. Can't really go wrong with any of their songs, especially their live in-studio videos.
For me their masterpiece (so far) is "Dawn", particularly this live fan-cam version:

This song was written by hal-ca (guitarist) when she was 12-13 years old, she is 19 now and their work is more mature now, I recommend 《then&now》live in studio as the next reaction🤘🏻👍🏻

This band is just otherworldly good. Guitarist Hal-Ca was 15, bassist Miyu (7 strings) 16 and his brother Mio on the drums 18 in this video. Hal-Ca wrote this song when she was only 12 years old.
Please listen to "Dawn", "Church" or "Light in the darkness" next.

Congratulations on finding the best new power trio since (in my opinion) Cream. They are an instrumental power trio from Fukuoka, Japan. They consist of:
    Haruka Noma, guitars (“HAL-CA”)
    Miyu Yoshinaka, bass
    Mio Yoshinaka, drums
They were formed in 2014 when Noma was 11 and the brothers were 12 and 14 respectively. They were all playing at a talent fair for young musicians in their hometown, when one of the music scouts noticed them, had a hunch and suggested they play together. Most of their current youtube catalogue is fan-made live video footage, much of it at the Hard Rock Café in Fukuoka. There are also a few clips from their one tour in the U.S., when they played Austin and Los Angeles. From the start, they have written most of their own music, covering a wide range of styles.
The brothers bring a lot of jazz and funk ideas into their playing. Miyu plays 4,5 and 7-string basses, which are co-lead instruments in his hands. They are all phenomenal talents, but the big draw has been Noma, known by her first name Haruka or by her stage name Hal-Ca. She has been likened to a reincarnation of Jimi Hendrix and Stevie Ray Vaughan, with bits of Joe Satriani, Nuno Bettencourt and Akira Takasaki, among others, thrown in. Even in the Japanese scene, with its overload of extraordinarily technical instrumentalists, she stands out. She also writes most of the band’s music.
Best clips to start with are:
“Rising Moon” (their first professional MV): th-cam.com/video/IfxMi0Bx4x0/w-d-xo.html
    “Blaze” (Live): th-cam.com/video/51Pxkp8lGAs/w-d-xo.html
“Light in the Darkness” (Live): th-cam.com/video/QpxNcZoNjVU/w-d-xo.html
    “Yunagi” (Studio live): th-cam.com/video/8Kjntjpnn7U/w-d-xo.html
    “Dawn” (Live): th-cam.com/video/buQPvINJcA0/w-d-xo.html
    “Day 26” (Studio live) th-cam.com/video/6qcxU-rikgs/w-d-xo.html

These 3 youngsters are true prodigies! This video is only 5 years after Haruka got her first guitar. There are short videos she has uploaded of her self-assigned guitar homework consisting of Yngwie, Loudness, and Buckethead.🤯💪🏻🤘🏻

For awhile now, I have been a huge fan of Band-Maid, Lovebites and Nemophila. Those bands have 5 amazing female guitarists between them. I discovered Asterism a few months ago and Hal-Ca is probably better than all of them. Hal-Ca and the brothers, Miyu and Mio, met at a music competition when they were 11, 12 and 14 respectively. Hal-Ca entered as a solo guitarist and the brothers entered as a duo. Someone with the competition had the good idea to introduce the brothers to Hal-Ca to see if they would want to play as a trio. The young brothers were so impressed with the 11 year old girl (who had been playing less than 2 years) that they wanted her to join them in forming permanent band. She said yes.
There have been many suggestions for their song Dawn played live, with the link provided. Dawn is an 8+ minute instrumental masterpiece. They are in a small club and the video is from the phone of someone in the audience. It is shot very well and the audio is surprisingly good. What that video captures is one of the best live guitar performances that I have seen 25 years. In fact it might be one of the best I have ever seen. I am almost 62 and I have seen many great guitarists live, including the great EVH in 1977. Hal-Ca already belongs in that stratosphere.

MIHO, RECENTLY OF LOVEBITES, SAID IN AN INTERVIEW THAT THE NORDIC COUNTRIES ARE SACRED GROUND FOR METAL MUSIC AND SHE WANTS TO VIST THERE. WORLD METAL IS A WONDERFUL COMMUNITY. GO TO JAPAN ON A WORKING VACATION, MAYBE? YOU WILL GET GIGS THERE. TOKYO HAS HUNDREDS OF ACTIVE MUSIC CLUBS AND YOUR TALENT WOULD BE APPRECIATED THERE. ALL OF THE CUTE GIRLS WILL GO CRAZY OVER YOUR LOOKS, HA HA. THE MUSIC SCENE IS AMAZING, THE FOOD SCENE IS AMAZING, THE DRINKING SCENE IS AMAZING, THE HOSPITALITY IS LEGENDARY. BTW, TH-cam REACTORS ARE UNITING THE METAL WORLD. TH-cam REACTORS ARE HELPING TO PROMOTE BANDS AND THE BANDS APPRECIATE THEM.
