Can I just say how much I love that your bias is Jin? I'm an OT7 through and through but there's something about Jin's personality and struggles and just the way he sees life that pulls me in, that I find so relatable.
There's a cover by Jin that is such a gem, it's called "Autumn Outside The Post Office". Melancholic with a beautiful harmonica instrumental. Jin was my 1st bias in BTS, although my ult is now Yoongi, Jin has a very special place in my heart, I will always be part of the "Jincult".
In the BU the flower petals represent the members of BTS. In this song Jin talks about how he will never be able to fly like the flower petals. This is because he has never thought that he was as naturally talented as the other members. He has spoken before about his fear of dragging the band down because he wasn’t at the other members level, and because of that he works harder and longer to try and catch up with them. In the song he talks about how even if he can’t fly he will run with his hand out to catch the petals so they will never fall to the ground, and in another part of the song he says that he will hold the six petals in his hands. Jungkook’s song on the Wings album, Begin is a song to the other members, but Jin’s song Awake is also a song about his love for the other members, even as he struggles with his own insecurities. The quote RM read at the beginning of the wings video was from the book Demian by Herman Hess, which their song Blood Sweat and Tears, also from the Wings album was based on. Also, Hobi was amazing yesterday! He did ARMY proud.

When they worked on awake they didn’t write it with the intention of it being how jin was feeling. Later RM realised it was exactly how Jin was feeling. I call Awake part 1 of Epiphany because in awake he thinks he will never be as good as the other members but he will keep running and trying. In Epiphany he has completely accepted himself as he is not so perfect but yet so beautiful. Thank you for this beautiful reaction I appreciate it!
I love the live performance, Jin sang with such vulnerability, I think it makes many of us Army cry watching him sing this. I even think he was emotional. I love his voice especially in the Japanese songs he is made to sing those. Funny you mentioned the veins in his neck when he belts out anything they appear , also when he gets annoyed and fast talk they appear its funny . Anyway Jin is amazing and a pure talent , it was just hidden , he didn't even know he could learn to sing and thanks to joining BTS he has developed into a phenomenal talent.
And to add to this what made me cry even more is the fact that this song was him thinking that he may not be as good as the other vocalists but he still will always give his all which I think isn’t true cuz he’s an amazing vocalist so it makes me emotional knowing that he used to think so little of himself😢

John, I've been watching your reactions for a while now and at some point I realise you were a Jin bias .. he is my ultimate bias .. You’re right, Jin can hit any high notes without straining. He was just adding emotions and dramatic effects to the performance. Im in the middle of studying but I saw this and was like, I have to watch it- and i'm only halfway through and just absolutely a giddy, giggling mess because it feels SOOO good to see someone with the same thoughts and feelings as me when it comes to that ethereal amazing talent we call Seokjin- like I'm always stunned at just how powerful he is, with his emotions- his voice- his aura- everything! He's literally one of the most talented artists I've ever seen, I still am amazed at how humble he is when quite frankly he could take over the world if he wanted to- his voice saves lives and just sends chills through me and the messages and emotions and light he is able to convey. Just wow! I love your reactions and your words, and like I said im only halfway through so I need to finish the video but I must agree with you, they saw a beautiful being on the street and didn't realize just how much of a diamond they had in their hands- I cant wait to see the great lengths he will reach in the future- because not only will he touch the sky, he'll reach even further than that, I'm sure of it.

First off, Jhope killed it! He did so well and I’m very proud of him! Also this song. Awake is an underrated song by Jin. Usually people always think of Epiphany, which is an amazing and beautiful song, but Awake is that hidden gem you know? His vocals here are insane and the live show for it is just immaculate! Also the Wings Short Films are heavy with BU content so don’t feel bad about not understanding them. They are one short film for each member and the names of the videos are tagged with their solo songs in the Wings album (which is why this one is named Awake for Jin’s film)

Jin has a lot of confidence to be able to play both guitar and piano on stage when he’s quite new to playing. Jin doesn’t give himself enough credit. He’s a much deeper thinker than he thinks he is. I have been watching your videos for a while now. I love that you are a Jin bias. I'm a baby army and although I love all the guys Jin is my ultimate bias. I love his outlook on life. Everything about him and how he sings his songs with such emotion is so inspirational. I love starting the day with Jin's songs and ending my days with a good laugh from watching Jin content 🤣
I love that Jin and Suga are best friends and were roommates the entire time the boys lived together since they are not an expected pairing. They're actually very supportive of one another. Yoongi even said that Jin is like a real brother to him.
I always took the song to mean that though he might not have felt as talented as the other six petals/flowers (maybe I can’t touch the sky), he will keep trying and keep improving. It’s about pushing forward even when scared. I can see where his insecurities came from. He didn’t know how to sing and dance so he worked extra hard and I love him for it. The WWH and Im so handsome comments started as a joke then became his way of boosting himself up. We can all be more like Jin
Congrats hobi lollapalooza was epic!!! John you must hear jin in crystal snow...that one he gets me. He always catches me off guard when he crushes that one high note moment...i wont spoil it for you but you must check it especially the live version of it.
I think AWAKE is his personal story being in BTS, as he mentioned the other 6 members in the lyrics as " Maybe I, I can never fly like those flower petals over there" and "holding six flowers tightly in my hands" - as I've took the meaning as him feeling that his wings are still weak and struggling and needing to do more but still he wanted to try and run towards his dreams and fly to get better. I love Jin. Well I did say I love Suga, too! But amongst the vocalists - it is Jin who makes me feel the song word for word. I especially love YOURS (Kdrama 'Jirisan' OST) and Epiphany. JK is great, his voice is flawless and super smooth; V is all soul and Jimin.. Jimin is fantastic. But it is JIN who makes me feel things when he sings :D Thanks John! Great reaction once again! The video with Yoongi singing awake is from the 2017 festa, where the memmbers teamed up with their roommates and did quizzes, challenges and a performace each, as well as some performances all together. I have so much respect for Jin. When he became a trainee at the age of 18 he didn't have any singing or dancing experience like other members did. So he basically had to work his way up thru sheer effort. He taught me that effort will pay off but at the same time he said "Only you need to know how hard you worked." AWAKE reminds me of his speech he made at Korea's Youth Day 2020. Worth checking out his inspirational speech.
Hey John thanks for this reaction. Jin was indeed a hidden gem when he was discovered. Some people will give all the praise to Jungkook and Jimin but often take Jin’s voice for granted. I think his voice is beautiful and unique. And yes, congratulations to Jhope for his amazing performance in Hobipalooza. He was soooooo good. I was watching him like a proud momma with tears in my eyes. After all the hate and negativity he got in the beginning, he’s proven that he can hold his own as an artist. John, I have been following your journey to BTS since you started. Love your reactions to BTS and I hope you continue to go on a deep dive and love this group as much as I have. I’m a Filipino male ARMY and my bias since I started has been Jin. I love this guy (Jin) for all the reasons that you stated and more. Everytime I hear or listen to his voice I feel the emotions that Jin has. I have been an Army since the release of Dynamite and I can say that I have never look back and regretted stanning or loving this group (BTS). Jin is very underated for me especially when they sing live as group. He comes of as a reliable and solid vocalist and I understand that he has a hard time singing while dancing but he does his best and I appreciate and love him for this. I love Jin’s solo work because his voice gives of this feeling of vulnerability and Awake is definitely my fave of the bunch. Also J-hope did a fantastic job headlining Lollapalooza! 💜

I admit, that when I started stanning BTS, Jin wasnt my favorite. The first person who caught my attention is JK. And along my BTS journey I fell in love with Jin completely. Suga is my ult. I’ve recently started watching your reactions and thoroughly enjoy it...I happened on to BTS in late 2019 but didn’t start really listening til 2020 when depression hit me after a series of life events ....my daughter pushed me into listening to BTS and their music among other things has helped me ...they grab you by the heart when they sing. I was in awe of them and have enjoyed watching others be blown away...you are so respectful in reacting to them ....I hope they bring joy to your life as well💜

My personal thoughts on Awake and Epiphany. I find that two go together quite well. Awake feels like how Jin has felt about himself, his talents, and his place in BTS during that time. Similar to Jimin, he’s never realized how special and incredible his voice is. Both of them have put in an insane amount of work into their vocals because they constantly think they should improve. I see Epiphany as the follow up to Awake once he’s realized that he is special and deserves to love his current self just as he is. Another note, at the end of his live performance you hear the audience clapping rather than screaming. This performance was in Japan and applause is a sign of respect. It was a really touching and emotional moment for Jin. He cried 🥺 When you watch his Osaka performance of Epiphany they give him applause afterwards as well. Thank you for the Jin appreciation 💜

Love your reaction! Jin is my bias too. His timbre is the one that is most pleasing to my ear out of the 4 vocalist (they're all great tho), but his voice speaks to me the most. He doesn't just sing, he tells stories. I was attracted by his appearance at first, then captivated by his voice, and finally fell in love once I learned about his personality. Thank you so much for your reaction and the wonderful things you said about Jin. I actually think of him as flawless diamond because of the purity of his voice. Jin is the only member of BTS that can hold an audience enthralled by just standing there and singing, and his solo is usually the last solo in the concert, so a finale of sorts. I read an interview with him where Jin said that he had to fight to be able to sing Awake the way he wanted, apparently the producer wanted him to sing it differently (or wanted the song to be written differently). Must have been an intense disagreement because Jin made a comment about being careful to choose producers he could work with. He said before Awake he was indifferent about writing his own songs. Jin is quite self-deprecating when talking about his projects but in my view he has solid self-confidence because he has a vlive where he is sharing a piano piece that he is learning, mistakes and all. You have to be a heck of a confident person to show millions of vlive viewers imperfection. Suga is actually the most accomplished in instruments - he has played the piano for years. May I suggest you react to a video of Jin, V and Jimin doing an acoustic medley of Boy in Luv / Danger / I Need U. It was during a Japan fanmeet. Jin plays the guitar in this video and the vocal harmonies are just gorgeous. And well done Hobi! So good to see our Mr. Sunshine come into his own.
When I heard this song and saw the lyrics, I got the meaning that Jin being the oldest was lamenting about how he would be the first one to leave to go to Military duty. As in their early years, the struggles, the running, they went from no more dream to dream, Jin still wants to run, he still wants to struggle, he still wants to dream. When he moves on to military duty he won't be able to fly with them. It's his fate for being the oldest, it's his fate to have been with these guys, the 6 flower petals, his mates who he will miss.

This is one of my favorite songs (I know I say this about every song but 🤣) and it makes me cry all the time. I have a special Jin solo song playlist for the times I need to be in my emotions and healthily cry. His voice has so much emotion to it and is so beautiful 💜✨

You are right - this forms part of the BU. A lot of symbolism here - the wallpaper shows Abraxas. Yeah, lots of little hints that tie into the other members solo tracks. Seeing Jin perform this live was damn amazing. His vocals are phenomenal
This song had me shed so many tears for Jin, because he is really such a special person. It is so sad to realise that he was always feeling inadequate next to his younger brothers, because he has a truly wonderful voice. There is no solo of Jin's that I don't adore.
Thank you for saying that, Jin IS gold through and through. Silver voice, diamond face... but his golden heart is truly the most beautiful thing about him. (And this is why I'm OT7, because Suga's amazing, but then Jin gives us a song like this, and then the maknaes-- yeah, you get what I mean!) He's said before he only wants to share good things with ARMYs, and so he frequently makes jokes or passes over references to his negative feelings... the one exception is in his music. That makes it even more precious to me, because he's sharing something with us that he otherwise finds hard to talk about. What gets me about Awake is that, despite sounding like a sad song ("I'm never going to achieve this dream"), his lyrics remain strongly hopeful. Many people would see "oh, I'm never going to be good as these others at this" as a reason to give up. But Jin's response is to keep trying-- maybe he can't fly, but he can run. He can be the best that *he* can be. He's not dreaming any longer, he's "wide awake," and he's *trying* instead of sitting and feeling sorry for himself.

After the Awake live performance, you can hear applause rather than cheering. If am not mistaken, this was in Japan. The audience applauded and gave him a standing ovation which is the highest honor given by Japanese people for a performance. It was also to show their appreciation and respect for a beautiful performance. The second standing ovation given to him was the Epiphany live performance.

In the BU the flower petals represent the members of BTS. In this song Jin talks about how he will never be able to fly like the flower petals. This is because he has never thought that he was as naturally talented as the other members. He has spoken before about his fear of dragging the band down because he wasn’t at the other members level, and because of that he works harder and longer to try and catch up with them. In the song he talks about how even if he can’t fly he will run with his hand out to catch the petals so they will never fall to the ground, and in another part of the song he says that he will hold the six petals in his hands. Jungkook’s song on the Wings album, Begin is a song to the other members, but Jin’s song Awake is also a song about his love for the other members, even as he struggles with his own insecurities. The quote RM read at the beginning of the wings video was from the book Demian by Herman Hess, which their song Blood Sweat and Tears, also from the Wings album was based on.

When they worked on awake they didn’t write it with the intention of it being how jin was feeling. Later RM realised it was exactly how Jin was feeling. I call Awake part 1 of Epiphany because in awake he thinks he will never be as good as the other members but he will keep running and trying. I love the live performance, Jin sang with such vulnerability, I think it makes many of us Army cry watching him sing this. I even think he was emotional. I love his voice especially in the Japanese songs he is made to sing those. Funny you mentioned the veins in his neck when he belts out anything they appear , also when he gets annoyed and fast talk they appear its funny . Anyway Jin is amazing and a pure talent , it was just hidden , he didn't even know he could learn to sing and thanks to joining BTS he has developed into a phenomenal talent.

You’re right, Jin can hit any high notes without straining. He was just adding emotions and dramatic effects to the performance. I think AWAKE is his personal story being in BTS, as he mentioned the other 6 members in the lyrics as " Maybe I, I can never fly like those flower petals over there" and "holding six flowers tightly in my hands" - as I've took the meaning as him feeling that his wings are still weak and struggling and needing to do more but still he wanted to try and run towards his dreams and fly to get better.
I love Jin. Well I did say I love Suga, too! But amongst the vocalists - it is Jin who makes me feel the song word for word. I especially love YOURS (Kdrama 'Jirisan' OST) and Epiphany. JK is great, his voice is flawless and super smooth; V is all soul and Jimin.. Jimin is fantastic. But it is JIN who makes me feel things when he sings :D

I have so much respect for Jin. When he became a trainee at the age of 18 he didn't have any singing or dancing experience like other members did. So he basically had to work his way up thru sheer effort. He taught me that effort will pay off but at the same time he said "Only you need to know how hard you worked." AWAKE reminds me of his speech he made at Korea's Youth Day 2020. Worth checking out his inspirational speech.
Hey John thanks for this reaction. Jin was indeed a hidden gem when he was discovered. Some people will give all the praise to Jungkook and Jimin but often take Jin’s voice for granted. I think his voice is beautiful and unique.

John, I have been following your journey to BTS since you started. Love your reactions to BTS and I hope you continue to go on a deep dive and love this group as much as I have. I’m a Filipino male ARMY and my bias since I started has been Jin. I love this guy (Jin) for all the reasons that you stated and more. Everytime I hear or listen to his voice I feel the emotions that Jin has. I have been an Army since the release of Dynamite and I can say that I have never look back and regretted stanning or loving this group (BTS). Jin is very underated for me especially when they sing live as group. He comes of as a reliable and solid vocalist and I understand that he has a hard time singing while dancing but he does his best and I appreciate and love him for this. I love Jin’s solo work because his voice gives of this feeling of vulnerability and Awake is definitely my fave of the bunch. Also J-hope did a fantastic job headlining Lollapalooza! 💜

I’ve recently started watching your reactions and thoroughly enjoy it...I happened on to BTS in late 2019 but didn’t start really listening til 2020 when depression hit me after a series of life events ....my daughter pushed me into listening to BTS and their music among other things has helped me ...they grab you by the heart when they sing. My personal thoughts on Awake and Epiphany. I find that two go together quite well. Awake feels like how Jin has felt about himself, his talents, and his place in BTS during that time. Similar to Jimin, he’s never realized how special and incredible his voice is. Both of them have put in an insane amount of work into their vocals because they constantly think they should improve. I see Epiphany as the follow up to Awake once he’s realized that he is special and deserves to love his current self just as he is.
Another note, at the end of his live performance you hear the audience clapping rather than screaming. This performance was in Japan and applause is a sign of respect. It was a really touching and emotional moment for Jin. He cried 🥺 When you watch his Osaka performance of Epiphany they give him applause afterwards as well.

Love your reaction! Jin is my bias too. His timbre is the one that is most pleasing to my ear out of the 4 vocalist (they're all great tho), but his voice speaks to me the most. He doesn't just sing, he tells stories. I was attracted by his appearance at first, then captivated by his voice, and finally fell in love once I learned about his personality. Thank you so much for your reaction and the wonderful things you said about Jin. I actually think of him as flawless diamond because of the purity of his voice. Jin is the only member of BTS that can hold an audience enthralled by just standing there and singing, and his solo is usually the last solo in the concert, so a finale of sorts. I read an interview with him where Jin said that he had to fight to be able to sing Awake the way he wanted, apparently the producer wanted him to sing it differently (or wanted the song to be written differently). Must have been an intense disagreement because Jin made a comment about being careful to choose producers he could work with. He said before Awake he was indifferent about writing his own songs. Jin is quite self-deprecating when talking about his projects but in my view he has solid self-confidence because he has a vlive where he is sharing a piano piece that he is learning, mistakes and all. You have to be a heck of a confident person to show millions of vlive viewers imperfection. Suga is actually the most accomplished in instruments - he has played the piano for years. May I suggest you react to a video of Jin, V and Jimin doing an acoustic medley of Boy in Luv / Danger / I Need U. It was during a Japan fanmeet. Jin plays the guitar in this video and the vocal harmonies are just gorgeous. And well done Hobi! So good to see our Mr. Sunshine come into his own.
When I heard this song and saw the lyrics, I got the meaning that Jin being the oldest was lamenting about how he would be the first one to leave to go to Military duty. As in their early years, the struggles, the running, they went from no more dream to dream, Jin still wants to run, he still wants to struggle, he still wants to dream. When he moves on to military duty he won't be able to fly with them. It's his fate for being the oldest, it's his fate to have been with these guys, the 6 flower petals, his mates who he will miss.

You are right - this forms part of the BU. A lot of symbolism here - the wallpaper shows Abraxas. Yeah, lots of little hints that tie into the other members solo tracks. Seeing Jin perform this live was damn amazing. His vocals are phenomenal

This song had me shed so many tears for Jin, because he is really such a special person. It is so sad to realise that he was always feeling inadequate next to his younger brothers, because he has a truly wonderful voice. There is no solo of Jin's that I don't adore.

Thank you for saying that, Jin IS gold through and through. Silver voice, diamond face... but his golden heart is truly the most beautiful thing about him. (And this is why I'm OT7, because Suga's amazing, but then Jin gives us a song like this, and then the maknaes-- yeah, you get what I mean!)
He's said before he only wants to share good things with ARMYs, and so he frequently makes jokes or passes over references to his negative feelings... the one exception is in his music. That makes it even more precious to me, because he's sharing something with us that he otherwise finds hard to talk about.
What gets me about Awake is that, despite sounding like a sad song ("I'm never going to achieve this dream"), his lyrics remain strongly hopeful. Many people would see "oh, I'm never going to be good as these others at this" as a reason to give up. But Jin's response is to keep trying-- maybe he can't fly, but he can run. He can be the best that *he* can be. He's not dreaming any longer, he's "wide awake," and he's *trying* instead of sitting and feeling sorry for himself.
Congrats Hobi!!💜💜 it was amazing!! I also love Jin’s voice, I can’t wait for his solo album so I can hear his beautiful voice all the time. I don’t really have a bias, it changes daily depending on the mood I’m in.💜💜💜

After the Awake live performance, you can hear applause rather than cheering. If am not mistaken, this was in Japan. The audience applauded and gave him a standing ovation which is the highest honor given by Japanese people for a performance. It was also to show their appreciation and respect for a beautiful performance. The second standing ovation given to him was the Epiphany live performance.
