I absolutely love "Hwarang: The Poet Warrior Youth". It's battles and hidden kings and who is the rightful heir and so much more. Tae is adorable in the movie. His life is so confusing because he is sort of forced into a family position that he does not want because he loves his half-brother.

Probably because the drama, Hwarang based on a legend/true story from somewhere between the 5th and 7th century in Korea, which at that time was divided into 3 kingdoms, Gugoreo, Shilla, and Baekje (I probably misspelled those) that would be similar to England’s King Arthur and the knights of the round table. That’s because the Hwarang, or poet warrior youth, were an elite unit of warriors from noble families established by the Queen of Shilla as her bodyguards, but also as hostages. Keeping close to her the sons of the nobles that were demanding that she hand over her throne to a male so she could keep their fathers in check. Nobody knows if it’s a real story or fiction. It’s based on a manuscript found in a pottery jar that had been passed down through many generations of a noble family. I don’t remember the exact date, but it was authenticated to about 500 AD, written by a Buddhist monk, but historians disagree about whether it’s an historical account or just a story the monk made up.

Fun fact no 1: Shinee's Minho plays a role as well, Fun fact no 2: Hwarang, the elite warriors, really existed between the 4th and 9th century in the ancient Korean kingdom Silla. Fun fact no 3: Kim Taehyung belongs to the Gwangsan Kim clan which are descendants of the Heung Gwang who was the third prince of King Sinmu of Silla. So taehyung has some royal blood. :)
I also discovered BTS through Hwarang. This song was so addictive and when it played during the soccer scene…The whole drama is worth watching just for that scene. Anyway, this was the first Korean Language song that I ever downloaded. Later I found out that BTS’ song fire was in the Kdrama Fight for My Way. So I actually heard that song first, but didn’t know it was BTS at the time.

I'm re-watching this video on March 21, 2024, and enjoying it again. I'd love to see Taehyung and Jin performing 'It's Definitely You' in concert when all seven return from their military duty. Or better yet, change it up to include all the BTS members. We know they'd have so much fun if the staff tossed them play swords and had a mock fight on stage.
Hwarang will forever be one of my favorite kdramas, even if it made me so angry and devastated at some parts 😭 (But 100% worth watching!). Taehyung did so well in the drama, and even met some of his best friends currently when filming. I'm curious what they do to Jin's voice in the studio. I'm not saying he doesn't sound good on record, but he sounds amazing live. It's such a noticeable difference. I guess I understand them doing it in the beginning when maybe his vocals weren't as strong, but how can you honestly listen to that man live and think it needs to be altered? There is just something really special in his voice that they seem to cut out in studio.

This song is responsible for me falling down the BTS rabbit hole in 2017 so this performance has a special place in my heart. As other mentioned this was for the 2018 Prom Party that was streamed on Vlive during Festa that year. You can now purchase the VOD on Weverse (although for copyright Jimin and JK's Black & White performance has a different song over it.) These types of songs are often found at Festa and Muster events where they perform things they know the fans would like to see that aren't on the regular concert rotations.
Great duo. Their voices sound so good together. Loved this drama. So much fun. There is an interview with the cast and of course V was the maknae of the crew. Their big brothers really cared about V. Like BTS has done with JK. This is when they started their friendship that remains till this day. I'm curious what they do to Jin's voice in the studio. I'm not saying he doesn't sound good on record, but he sounds amazing live. It's such a noticeable difference. I guess I understand them doing it in the beginning when maybe his vocals weren't as strong, but how can you honestly listen to that man live and think it needs to be altered? There is just something really special in his voice that they seem to cut out in studio.

This song is responsible for me falling down the BTS rabbit hole in 2017 so this performance has a special place in my heart. As other mentioned this was for the 2018 Prom Party that was streamed on Vlive during Festa that year. You can now purchase the VOD on Weverse (although for copyright Jimin and JK's Black & White performance has a different song over it.) These types of songs are often found at Festa and Muster events where they perform things they know the fans would like to see that aren't on the regular concert rotations.
Great duo. Their voices sound so good together. Loved this drama. So much fun. There is an interview with the cast and of course V was the maknae of the crew. Their big brothers really cared about V. Like BTS has done with JK. This is when they started their friendship that remains till this day. Remember that V made some chapters of The Soop: friendication with the Wooga Squad (they are the actors from Hwarang Drama) .John your laughter is so contagious, hahaha. This performance was for the 2018 muster. The anniversary of BTS debut. JK + Jimin performed a dance to Michael Jackson's Black or white and the Rap line performed Ddaeng. The ost was for K-drama Hwarang and V had a role in it.

Definitely You was OST for Hwarang Poet Warrior,which was a historic drama about a group of young men hand-picked to be the queen’s protectors during the Silla era. V was one of the main actors in this drama. At the time he was the only BTS member to appear in a drama.

Definitely is a soundtrack for a movie called Hwarang The movie is about Young warriors I like the movie very much V is one of the stars in it and he does a great job in this movie.
Just a small correction Hwarang is a tv series, not a movie.
Because of this song...I became an Army! I love the KDramas "Hwarang" because I'm a fan of Park Hyun Shik and Park Seo Jin...then the rest was history! I'm so surprised when I saw V included with so many great casts on that Drama. #V #KimTaehung my bias!
