From South to North, Large Malls Across China Are Desolate; The Physical Economy Is Beyond Saving

  • The physical economy seems beyond recovery, with a grim situation from Guangzhou in the south to Changchun in the northeast. Regardless of the size of the city, street-side shops, commercial districts, and pedestrian streets are struggling. Urban centers are eerily quiet, contradicting official claims of a "booming" domestic market. Mainland financial experts agree that China's economy is plunging into a major depression.

When you force your people to never leave their homes even for food, to the point people were dying of starvation, you should expect some negative consequences. The difference is that the US has a lot more than manufacturing. it's the leader in technology, education, finances, science, etc... and it was a wealthy country way before the manufacturing started leaving the country. The US is still a manufacturing powerhouse, second to China, but produces high value manufacturing instead of cheap, low quality products. China still is a poor country and doesn't have internal consumption, that is why they aren't as resilient as the US when economic downturns happen. China can never rely in itself to boost consumption which is the base for economic growth.

I have Chinese family, so I clearly can tell they're struggling, their friends are struggling, their neighbors are struggling, their city is struggling, I don't say, they say. A country is prosperous when their citizens are prosperous , not when their government says. Chinese can't find jobs , Americans can, US stocks are growing, Chinese are tanking, US housing market is bad, but Chinese is just horrendous, and there is where Chinese have most of their wealth. Foreign Investment in the US is growing, Investment in China is fleeing, even recognized by the Chinese government. Soooooo, I don't know what to tell you. Americans don't migrate. the Chinese are leaving the country in droves , wonder why. I mean you can think what you want but facts aren't kind on your beliefs.

    The atrocious way the economy is going for China now, the Chinese there will be forced to:
    1. Grow/Developed their own genuine & safe (not fake & dangerous) food + products for domestic consumption drastically. Import demands + foreign investments are barely non-existent anymore.
    2. Barder-trade products for food. Impossible to barter with banks (to pay off housing/business debts), but bartering may have a (temporary) comeback to solve the lack of income/revenue problem. Most of the middle & lower class people has dwindling to no cash at hand to pay for food/essentials.

    • @MK_ULTRA420
      @MK_ULTRA420 4 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

      China growing their own safe food is possible but unaffordable given how polluted most of China's soil is, and the immense cost of restoring it back to healthy soil. Most Chinese people are familiar with bartering but it's a dumb idea for cities when the real estate is worth more than whatever goods they'd be using to trade.
      China is likely going to be dependent on food imports and raiding the high seas for at least another century.

      Because if you speak to ordinary Chinese people, which I do as I teach online, many of them haven’t got a clue what’s really going on. A lot is hidden from them and they just parrot the party line which they’ve been fed since birth. When the economy was doing well, they were encouraged to spend, spend, spend. In truth many lived way beyond their means. At the time I likened them to young kids rampaging in a sweet shop. Now, of course, they have to pay the price for, what in truth was often, sheer greed. They don’t understand what’s happened because they’ve grown up with the idea that their government knows best, has their best interests at heart and will look after them. It must be a bitter pill to swallow …

    • @robertofernandez7773
      @robertofernandez7773 4 หลายเดือนก่อน +10

      Of course, but to be comfortable about your poor performance just because others are doing worse is a looser state of mind that will not allow to fix the problem. That is why it is paramount to be critical with yourself (as a country) so you can be better and fix the problem. China is particularly bad at being auto critical and that is why this crisis keeps getting worse. China miscalculated its reliance on other countries, they became aggressive, thinking something they were not and they are paying the consequences.
