Now, we’re hiking, biking, driving, flying and even training around the world to discover as much as possible! Recently, we sold our van and packed up our lives into bags and boarded a one way flight to Europe, leaving behind no house, no car and not even a house/car. I am Spanish. Spain is the country in Europe with the greatest historical variety. Phoenicians, Greeks, Romans, Germanic barbarians, Muslims, Jews and Christians have passed through the Iberian peninsula. Spain also has various climates. Snow-capped mountains, rivers and lakes, beaches, huge swamps, deserts and plains. It also has the greatest diversity of flora and fauna in Europe.And 15:46,look de Segovia acueduct.The Tarragona acueduct is small to compare with the Segovia brother.
There’s so much variety of history in Spain for sure! We’re loving our time here. We will look into Segovia aqueduct and see if we’ll be near it!
Spain has the city with the largest number of World Heritage Sites, Córdoba. It is definitely a mandatory destination. I also recommend Granada

So beautiful. Fun fact: they just now discovered the reason why Roman concrete or cement lasted so very long is because it self heals and it’s because the Romans added volcanic ash to the mix. Sure took them long enough to figure that out! I would love to visit Spain one day. Everything looks so amazing! ❤

When the Romans decided where to found an important population, Tarragona in this case, they had the problem that the vital water supply could be very far from the population. In addition, the terrain is never flat, but has irregularities, more in Spain, which is very mountainous. In this case, from the water source to its objective, the Romans knew that the inclination of the rail to carry water could not be more than 50cm for each kilometer, otherwise, the excessive inclination would make the water would flow faster and would destroy the aqueduct. In this way, a ditch reinforced with stone was dug on flat ground, in the obstacles, the mountain was crossed digging tunnels in which to install the water lane. On the precipices, it was mounted the aqueduct like the one you saw, to avoid the steep unevenness and connect again with the route to your destination. In Spain there are all these types. The Peña Cortada aqueduct is a 90 km network of tunnels dug into the mountain, and the one in Segovia is intact, without any cement to join its stones, only mathematics and gravity. The Roman aqueducts are a marvel of engineering.
It is truly amazing how they designed and built these aqueducts and how they’re still standing today

That "giant asparagus" is an Agave salmiana, not exactly the agave that produces syrup or tequila. It's in the asparagus family. The real asparagus is so weird because it doesn't have leaves at the base, all the plant is made of flower spikes.

Great video. There are a lot of aquaducts all over Spain (in Segovia there is probably the most famous) but I didn‘t know, Tarragona has one too.

Román heritage IS so cool in my opinión, the good thing IS that you have many places to go and see It, and the fact that people live literally on the Román construcciones IS because centuries ago no one had a concience of preserving the history and for example many castles were used for other THIngs like for mantaining sheeps ( this IS an example from my town) and with the oldee construcciones like this ones during centuries the diferent civilizations builded and reused the old buldings and many times the Ancient ones were underground and no one knows that they were there.
It is REALLY cool. It’s so interesting to learn more while we are here.

At the time we went they didn’t have a card reader so I don’t know. I ended up having to go to a local bar and asked them to break a 20€ note cause I didn’t have any smaller euros
