Austerity will continue as is under Labour, so councils will still have to get they money the same way Labour's election manifesto will not rule out increases in council tax, fuel duty and capital gains tax.
Labour isn't going to reduce taxes, it's going to be the same if not worse than what we had under Tories because if you take anything away from this, they want to spend a lot of money without reducing taxes. Pair that with their Shadow Chancellor Rachel Reeves who said in 2019 she wants to double the Capital Gains Tax threshold from 28% to 40-45%. People don't realise how this hurts working class people, Capital Gains Tax is a way for working class to invest their pay-check into assets and realise profits paying lower taxes. This is generally the way people can escape poverty in society because income is taxed so highly. Also Starmer has a track record of lying like his counterpart so expect him to change what he says before the election after he is elected. The answer to lower taxes is going to be a vote for Reform. It'll go like this: I'm raising taxes for you lot, but cutting them for you lot, so that's net "no change" ... Labour have zero idea of how to budget without big tax increases.
A Labour government has been in charge of are councils in Liverpool for decades and i would like to say it has been rosey BUT it really hasn't, Council Corruption, degradation of society, Roads are awful and Full of potholes, Shops closed everywhere, Litter everywhere, Crime rates rising and Council Tax rises every year and nothing to show for it, infact public services are getting worse every year. Labour will not change and people need to understand there will be "Change" but it will be a change for the worse.
Local councils are funded using the Barnett formula so the money from central government ....Austerity measures are the reason town centres are falling to bits....all the blame can't be laid at the door of local council's be it Labour ,liberal or Tory I've a Tory council and the town centre Is falling to bits .
The councils to which you are referencing have their budgets set by the Government, which for the past 14 years has been the tories, and they have slashed council budgets to a point where councils simply cannot function properly. You need to look at how Labour managed the country from 1997 to 2010, rather than how a Labour council with it's hands tied behind it's back have struggled under the tories. Economic growth was consistently strong under Labour. Gordon Brown, the chancellor, presided over 47 consecutive quarters of economic growth. This was an incredible feat, and one that allowed Britain to flourish, whether it was in education, universities, wages or public services such as the NHS. Under the tories, everything was slashed to the bare bone, such as the councils you speak of, and nothing works. It is a very simple choice that you have in this general election. I know that you may feel like hope has been lost, but you need to believe that we can be better. We all need to just have a little faith.
I think you're both putting blame in the wrong place. The collapsing councils are due to Tory cuts to council funding. That's exactly what austerity was. In between 2010 & 2020, nationwide, councils lost an average 50% of their funding (and that's a medium average. I.e. half of all councils lost more than that). Just to give a specific example; Nottingham’s Government Revenue Support Grant in 2013 was £127 million. For 2024, it is £31 million. What do you both think the Labour councils should have done differently when they were losing in between 50-85% of their entire government finding? We badly need the Torys gone for good and tactical voting is the best way to make that happen.
I'm just sick of hearing the same old BS from both sides of the house. Always slagging off the others without detailed accounts of how you will raise funding improve our country for the better. As far as I can make out they're all chancers.

What exactly did either do to warrant a knighthood?
People may vote for Labour, but under Mr. Starmer, the NHS, migration, and economy are likely to worsen. Rachel Reeves' budget and forecasts could lead to significant problems in 2-3 years. While Labour might offer free meals and some financial support, this could promote laziness and unemployment, leading to a nightmare scenario for the economy, inflation, jobs, NHS, housing and migration.

Exactly the same where I live. How anyone can think of them running the UK will be better is beyond me...
Liverpool council has always been awful going back 70 years!
VOTE REFORM. its our best option
I'm just sick of hearing the same old BS from both sides of the house. Always slagging off the others without detailed accounts of how you will raise funding improve our country for the better.
As far as I can make out they're all chancers.
Social care?
Who’s even voting for these guys 🤦♀️
Oh🤔 Angela just remided me of Reform..👍🏻
Why would anyone vote for Reform the failed project of the Tory party
@@denisebrown4735I think you'll be surprised! Stick with this 🤡 and his wonderful assistant, the one who struggles to string a sentence together! I need to switch off now after listening to this bedtime story 😴
I'm really looking forward to the Upcoming Live Debate, between Nigel Farage & Keir Starmer !!!.
Could you let me know the Time and Date ?? 😅🤣😂@@paulinedavies7793
40,000 extra appointments. If 800 illegal immigrants come across the channel in dingys each calm day it will take roughly about 50 days to have 40,000 more people wanting doctors and dentists. 800x50 = 40,000. Labour is deceiving us and they keep voting against stopping the boats.
they talk like budget tories!! starmer and rayner have nothing on corbyn and mcdonnell. they actually care about the people who struggle.
at least we shouldn’t support genocide in an already fragile part of the world. do the islamic states not get to decide what they do/who they may go to war with? this labour party is centre right and has no regard for the genuine socialists, not the people who genuinely want a government that strives towards world peace. because i guess that’s not as profitable. arms deals for the win i guess?? lol
Hope Trump wins can’t wait for self righteous look at me am Jesus Christ super Starmer to shake hands with him self righteous Starmer would hate that
I have epilepsy
As long as labour calls itselfe labour but changes the goal posts it remains hard to take them any more seriously than a loss leader on a supermarket counter.. Tbh, conservatives do not seem to any more credible . My gut feel is the only forward is to get rid of the ping pong, Dumb and Dumber of labour and tory and vote for ones own beliefs. Even if one goes liberal on a vote your vote goes to one of the richest people in the uk, or one of 2 people that got knighthoods for!... What exactly ? What exactly did either do to warrant a knighthood?
And I'm voting for Mr tice
what a lot of yapper
Labour members won’t campaign for Akehurst so needs Israel's support, who dose Labour work for it's members or it's lobby backers?
People may vote for Labour, but under Mr. Starmer, the NHS, migration, and economy are likely to worsen. Rachel Reeves' budget and forecasts could lead to significant problems in 2-3 years. While Labour might offer free meals and some financial support, this could promote laziness and unemployment, leading to a nightmare scenario for the economy, inflation, jobs, NHS, housing and migration.
So True, We think the Same !!!!!.
Sorry but "Will" is imaginary. Either that or the Firefighter with two side jobs needs to stop house hunting in central London lmao.
Who funds the Labour Party
VOTE REFORM UK 🇬🇧
Will your Manifesto break down Britain's constitution? Also are you still part of the Fabion society?..
We're all voting REFORM 🇬🇧🏴🏴🏴🇬🇧
We will NOT Raise the Personal Tax Allowance. WHY 🤔🤔!!.
This is effectively a TAX RISE to employees and Pensioners
REFORM UK - Policy is to Raise the Personal Allowance to £20,000, This is a saving for All people earning £20,000 or over, Pension or Working of £1,486 per year, or £28.57 per Week.
VOTE FARAGE !
so i am still confused about how reform is going to fund this 🤔 and their other plans
@@sofariiiiall detail on their site
Yeah but what’s going to be cut because that money will no longer go to it what it used fund
I have just looked at the Reform site. All Policies Clear and Costed
Got to say as a former Labour supporter, not a chance would I vote for him either. Calling brexit supporters old and stupid. The Labour supporters of thw North voted brexit, and now will vote reform. ❤
Us too !!!!.
We are constantly being told there will be a Labour land slide I don’t know a single person who is voting Labour could it be left leaning pollsters
If l want a tory government ld vote for the real one not a wannabe version. Bye.
Starmer sends me to sleep. What a boring, mundane man
he doesnt want to be pm for 5 years, he just want the status for a short while, he will flap it and tap out
Me too! The man is as exciting as an ironing board! At least farage has something about him.
evil should not be this boring to lesson to, even the Tories are it lest creative in there villainy.

the sketchy plan makes me nervous, Tories seem more around the detail on the how. starting to get a idea
Wasted vote. Vote reform.
did anyone get any actual info? it was all pantomime bigging them selves up. just tell us what the actual heck you are going to do?
Richard Walker is a Tory. His old man was a Conservative donor. I guess he sees something in Labour, or he's just backing a winning horse.
A bit of both? Labour see business and wealth creation as the way to fund public services. Businesses wanted stability and see Labour as they way to get that.
@@robc7162Labour have people on the floor of The Stock Exchang the same as The Royal Family do.
They know what big money is all about.
Why is the clapping so weird, like super slow clapping, is that some sort of 16th century tradition for manifesto launches or something?
Take your meds
Labour supporters are really slow in the head, no surprise their clapping follows suit
Slow brains slow claps
Chill, I was thinking the same thing about clapping at shows before the show had started even, just a few days ago, and it left me thinking who would applaud a guy that was just about to sentence everyone in the audience to a mass hanging if they applauded for no reason.
@@LiamPorterFilms - Shall I do that really slowly, or at a normal speed?
Great speech by Starmer.
He's an absolute wrong un when a human rights lawyer he fought to keep serious criminals in our country concerned more about their human rights than the human rights of the British people...many went on to commit further serious crimes!!
Yes I'm really looking forward to Keir's LIVE DEBATE with Nigel Farage. Keir is such a Good Speaker, by the way do you know when it is ? !!!!!.
did he get to the part about his dad being a tool maker, that never get old.
