- “Labour’s mantra is that it has no plans to increase the taxes of working people…When politicians say they have no plans, it usually means they do, but they're just not telling us.”
Andrew Neil is joined by The Times’s policy editor Oliver Wright and economist Liam Halligan to dissect Labour’s manifesto.

These frequent tax code changes are disrupting my long-term investment strategies. Are there ways to structure my investments to be more resilient to potential tax code modifications?
I honestly think America needs a completely restructure of their political system. It is just not working. Trump and Biden being elected out of 300 million people to run the country is evidence for that too.
This is why the US should elect more progressive politicians, who know how to manage budgets and give us (yes, pur country's initials literally spell out that pronoun) much better tax credits in return for better public education and better public healthcare. but since these are nonexistent, my husband and I are being guided to finance our retirement and healthcare through a diversified investment portfolio

Annette Marie Holt is the licensed advisor I use. Just search the name. You’d find necessary details to work with to set up an appointment.
What Labour hasn’t admitted is that the home owners, landlords, motorists, all business owners, pensioners, and many others will be hit with tax rises. Just going about our daily lives car fuel taxes will rise, vehicle licensing will rise, insurance will be taxed, access to towns and cities will be taxed, ULEZ will be everywhere. Taxes on food and drink will rise. Everything will get more expensive so taxes are raised for Labour’s pledges.

There's completely no money ya daft trucker & Sir Kneel & the completely London centric Liebour Party will be very unpopular with all the tax rises for ''working people.''
Agreed... You can smell the desperation.
Labour is not popular. It’s universally hated, it will win due to Muslim votes and people unwilling to vote a Tory party that is now a liberal party.
I still do understand what Labour is planning and how they doing it. That Manifesto did not make any sense
zero council tax never paid wont pay i did pay rates back when it was actually being spent on public services now they want more and give less back to public spending unless its a way to extort more money from the public
After 18.00 he knocks off as he has to get home...Upstairs!
Yes too labour 😅
I,ll pay more in taxes to sort this mess out the Tory’s have left this country in
😄 They sending your tax money to ukraine and isreal and you want to send them more. Sucker.
Good for you. I have no confidence any government will spend my taxes well. Small government, low taxes.
With Starmer, you'll just pay more in taxes. Hard-left mob.
@@rodneyfungus8249 you forgot nonfunctional NHS
Something about a fool and their money...
We just need a government that can do the basics well and make business as straightforward as possible.
Then vote for reform
As for a long time. Labour party get power..the very second they get in ....up go your taxes. Been like for 50 years and beyond. Its genetic. They can't help themselves
Tory tax Burden is highest since 1940's .....
Funny how they do not talk about stopping the waste and bad management.
I think Rishi is paying 0.5% on his Tax. The average Joe is paying 90 times more. This is what's going wrong here.
A revenue neutral revaluation would be good for poorer people, not so good for me, but it's the right thing to do.
I'm in a similar position. I have some faith that fewer poorer people will lead to things like less crime, better health (and so less stress on the NHS) and a slightly more chill "higher trust" society, so while it may well hit your and my bank balance, we will be truly better off.
I have no idea whether Labour can achieve that, but I'm certain the Tory's weren't even trying!
"A revenue neutral revaluation would be good for poorer people" No it won't,. You need to tackle wealthy inequality to prevent the deathslide that's going on. Tinkering around the edges is what the tories have been doing for 14 years.
@@archvaldor Then replace "good" with "better". But I agree.

1) To sustain a free market You must tax the extreme concentration of Wealth and then give it evenly to everybody , again and again, so that the market can have customers (i.e. humans with money to spend).
2) Do not let foreign entities extract profit from our markets. We must extract profits from their markets.
I love the old be careful Labour don't do what the conservatives have been doing for the last 10 years
What is going wrong in the background at 12:15 - Is it shock from what’s been heard or a potential lengthening of the NHS waiting list?
Re: economic growth. Join BRICS.
Stop building houses on agricultural land - we cannot feed the population anyway - enough.
Ps remember all you need to know, is me no speak.
I don't understand, how are they going to make enough electricity to keep all the cars, Lorries, trains etc.. the roads would hVe to be widened in certain areas, where would we put all the chargers. We all use more electric, in the winter, are there going to be blackouts.. sorry just asking
So rich to listen to Tories complaining about future tax rises, it was fine for them to increase taxes 26 times for their utterly failed plans.
26 tax rises and they've still managed to destroy the country. Labours plans in the manifesto are much more cautious than the tories, whose plans are more pantomime than serious.
Vote Starmer, get Blair and Brown...and everything they want to do...
We ALL have bad memories of war criminal Blair andnyet people are so ignorant that they feel Starmer is the leader with his own ideas.
Blair is the real leader. BLAIR IS CONTROLLIMG STARMER.
Do any of anti Labour people have the courage to count dislikes not just likes. So sad, you are history.
😂😂😂 I just love the idea of the Tories - WHO HAVE GIVEN US THE HIGHEST TAXES SINCE WW2 - telling us to fear Labour - WHO CUT TAXES UNDER BLAIR - will raise taxes.
Fair enough and I get it, we had to increase tax for various reasons. But it’s now and future that matters and Im not satisfied with the Labour Manifesto which wasn’t clear how they helping working people. Just being honest.
Starmer has already stated working people dont have savings, so cgt is obvious maybe isas too. Everyone can see the books so im so they can its a right cop out. ro say that
