Can I Beat Fallout New Vegas As The Spy From TF2?

- An 18 hour playthrough condensed into about 25 minutes of pure Spy suffering. But at least I'm not beating the game as Medic. Yet.
Heavily inspired by videos made by the late Mitten Squad.

Now i wanna hear someone explain full fallout lore using tf2 terms
@@CheekyLad_ So Mr. House was the engineer behind RobCo, a massive Engie steam group, who used sheer math to determine where China's demo nuke grenades would hit the least. Figuring it was Vegas, he set up a turtle nest there but he forgot to upgrade the sentries in time. He sealed himself inside a dispenser and made himself immortal, but a server crash thanks to the sheer number of grenades meant he'd only be able to enjoy this when his private server came back up over a century later. From there, he'd kill or force out the friendlies calling the map home, and begin rebuilding Vegas, but when the NCR and Legion showed up, it became apparent he needed to upgrade his sentries using the last refined metal across all accounts, actually a heavily compacted stock of building metal. He sent a bot, a Heavy named "Victor," to have various traders search for the refined and deliver it to him, but his protege, Benny, turned out to be a scammer hunting for the refined to take over the server himself. So, when the fateful trader loaded onto the map, Benny ambushed them and stole the refined, leaving them to die of two Ambassador headshots and burying in the ground. Yet, thanks to unclear circumstances, Victor was able to bring them to a Medic and save them.
@@CheekyLad_ I'd pay good money for this
He's out of line, but he's right.
@@CheekyLad_ frankly I'm outraged it took this long for a crossover. Now that Microsoft owns Bethsoft maybe we'll see a Fallout 76 crossover. Why did Fallout & Elder Scrolls both need to stop all development to make shitty MMOs/Live Services? Can't we have both? Surely the only reason anyone plays Fallout 76 is because they want to play more 3-NV-4 style Fallouts, not to spend money in a fucking atom shop! Fuck!
I remember watching a lot of Mitten Squad challenge videos about this game. Really glad to see that he left an impact on so many people. Rest in Peace, Paul.
Paul will be missed 😞
Farewell to the fallen

It feels very lore-accurate that the spy would want to kill the president of a nation just so he can wear his suit

still normal scout play
As consequence of order, the next challenge is to install Fallout Dust (FNV mod) and play as Scout.
God no
As DUST enthusiast - it's going to be hell until there will be enough ammo for the shotgun, after which nothing will stop you.
Bombs drop, birds fly, grass doesn’t grow, and brother? I die a lot
Even better, Fallout 4 in Boston.
If he does this as scout he needs to take mysteious stranger perk to be spy

demoman challenge:
Use explosives and melee weapons (duh)
but you must constantly drink alcohol
also should do a ton of sidequests cause in lore, Demoman had 3 jobs
bonus: you cannot reload a save if you accidentally hurt or kill someone with the explosives, you have to respect the splash damage and play through your mistakes
Cook-cook is a pyro
Driver Nephi is a demoknight
Boone is a sniper
Doc Mitchell is medic (he replaced your organs with a baboon's and also surgically added your soul to himself while you were out)
The Camp McCarren legionaire is a spy
The wondering stranger is scout (his dad is also a spy and abandoned him)
The Boomers guard who bombards you is soldier
And who's the character that's a cowboy mechanic? That's right! Raul is engineer
Edit: i somehow forgot heavy, but if you're wondering, it's probably Cannibal Johnson, but if you don't agree, maybe one of the many heavy supermutants or BoS knights.
but whos the Heavy?
Mysterious Stranger is definitely the spy
@@RikouHogashi my guiess is LIly.
Big, strong, as super mutant not averse to using a minigun.
Nah, the Think Tank are all different parts of the Medic, at least by being equally mentally deranged
@@HappyBeezerStudios the idea of a supermutent Heavy sounds terrifying but very fitting
New Vegas as the Demoman could be fun. Grenade launchers, mines and swords only and you're not allowed to eat or drink anything that isn't alcoholic.
New Vegas as the Pyro is pretty fun as long as you never take the Meltdown perk.
Fallout 4 as the Scout could work pretty well. You get a bunch of armor pieces with the Sprinter's effect, then a sawn off shotgun, Deliverer, and an aluminum bat and you're set.
Heavy in any of the games would work pretty well, but New Vegas is the only one with both pump shotguns and sandwiches.
Engineer only really works with mods.
There’s even baseball grenades in Fallout 4 he could use
Fallout 4 plays around Boston and Scout is from Boston so it would only make sens
If you do fallout 4, engineer could work with the Automatron robots.
Demoman would also have to side with Mr. House since the mercenaries work for extremely old rich guys with life-extending technology
@@onlookerofthings6029 Except when they're fighting an extremely old rich guy with life extending technology and an army of robots.

Someone calls Nerbit and tells him a new challenger approaches.
As far as we know, France probably still exists in the Fallout Universe, but the writers never cared enough to clarify the deets about them. Which I find oddly funny, since in real-life, France is one of the countries with the most nukes and nuke-defense system.
Thus it is my head cannon is that France is perfectly fine, and has not made contact with the wastes as revenge for all the French jokes
I don't think the writers "never cared" about giving details about France (and the entire rest of the world), it's more just that Fallout as a series has always been a parody of 1950's USA, the American Dream, and - most importantly - it's failings. The focus on the US alone also, perhaps ironically, reflects how many Americans have a narrow perspective of the world at large, viewing it as though only the US exists.
Europe is a waste land. The only 2 countries standing were the US and China. The others literally destroyed themselves during the oil wars that forced nuclear to become a thing.
France and many other European countries were already completely destroyed even before the final nuclear exchange between America and China. In the Fallout Universe the "European Commonwealth" declared war and invaded the Middle East during the 2050s for it's few remaining oil fields which resulted in a decades long conflict with limited nuclear strikes being conducted. Once the oil finally dried up from the region the Commonwealth had already broken apart with the surviving members then fighting each other for the few remaining resources like water and food.
Couple that with the added destruction from being peppered by the massive yield nuclear missiles the American's and Chinese sent all across the world in 2077, I would be very surprised if anything besides bunkers deep in the Swiss mountains happened to survive at all. I think that's the reason why we hear very little about Europe in the games.
France and much of Europe were already destroyed even before the nuclear missile exchange between America and Communist China. A decade long resource war between the "European Commonwealth" and the Middle East over oil happened in the 2050s which was devastating and even saw some limited nuclear strikes between the two. It eventually ended once the oil fields dried up in the region along with the collapse of both as functioning entities. The few surviving groups then spent the next remaining years squabbling over food or water.
So you combine that with the nuclear apocalypse of 2077, where the entire thermonuclear arsenal of the United States and China was sent not only at each other but every other continent as part of the whole mutually assured destruction thing, and I would be very surprised if anything but some bunkers in Switzerland survived at all. That's the reason why we hear almost nothing about Europe in the games.
Isnt it interesting how all the spy mechanics (exept instakill backstab) are in fallout:NV, including a fully working disguise system? You can even "zap" sentries by sneaking up to them and disabling them with your repair skill! That kinda blew my mind right now, how has nobody ever done a video like this?
I remember trying this once, removed all mode, gave myself the appropiate stats, a switchblade, and a mask.
Highlit of the run was me pulling off a matador on a super mutant and not much else, but at lesst it was fun.
Edit: I came back to this comment because I got a notification for some reason and I genuinely cannot figure out what I meant by "mode", I hadn't installed any mods so it's not a mispelling, I have zero clue what it could be :/
Saying "Pulling a matador on a mutant" is something out of this world
Beat Fallout 4 as Scout.
You know, because it's in Boston.
Only consumables you can use are sodas and jet, and only weapons are the baseball bat, deliverer, and double barreled shotgun

Fallout 4 as Heavy would be pretty doable with how soon that game gives you a minigun.
I'd love to see it! Especially because he'll need a TON of strength and carry weight perks... and ammo. And money to repair them because they're damn expensive
Pretty much like Sasha
7:27 Wow it's exactly like in TF2!
7 minutes in and I think that spy will have a kid with Benny.
I mean he needs to make scout some how
Doesn't matter what our sex or sexuality may be, EVERYBODY is charmed by Benny.
Stealth, melee, revolvers. Not too unmanageable, actually sounds pretty fun. Now I want to see the other TF2 Mercs done in New Vegas.
You don’t have to kill Chief Halen, he’ll “choose to exit life himself” if you talk to him a certain way.
You have no idea how much this comment fucked with my head, because Halen is a name I've been using for my character in pathfinder, and I've become a chief of a tribe in that game.
He's me. I'm Chief Halen.
And here am I trying to get his gun without having to send him to the great NCR outpost in the sky.
@@Xahnel*church bell noises*
“For guns, I’m only using revolvers”
Well that answers that question then lol
I feel like it would've made more sense for any tf2 based build to choose mr house. Since you're a mercenary, and they have no interest in leading anyone. And considering how the mercs are employed by the Mann Brothers.
Although Soldier would be glad to have followers to murd... Teach the art of war
The joke of calling Cook-Cook a pyro was pretty subtle but funny. Hoping to see more new vegas challenge runs like this in the future, good shit.
Fitting cause just like Pyro he's the most psychotic person in the game... just not as funny about it.
I would be doing all 7 of us Heavy mains a disservice if I didn't ask you to do a playthrough as our big Russian boy.
More of this please, your last new vegas video got me into new vegas and its been really fun
I REALLY REALLY HOPE THIS BECOMES A SERIES WITH ALL THE TF2 CLASSES!
I get the feeling Medic will the hardest to do that challenge with.
The spy acquiring a balaclava from a pyro, how ironic
I've actually made a build for every single Merc a loooong time ago! And the first playthrough I did was with the Demo! It was a lot of fun. I would love to see how you do the other classes in the future!
Here's my Spy build BtW:
SPECIAL: ST 4; PE: 5; EN: 4; CH: 8; IN: 6; AG: 7(8); LK: 6
Tag Skills: Speech; Sneak; Lockpick; Traits: Small Frame; Trigger Discipline;
Main skills: Guns; Speech; Sneak;
Minor Skills: Lockpick; Medicine (50), Melee Weapons;
2nd-wave priority skills: Barter; Repair; Science; Unarmed;
All desired perks: Lady Killer; Confirmed Bachelor; Educated; Rapid Reload; Fast Metabolism; Jury Rigging; Walker Instinct; Old World Gourmet; Pack Rat; Finesse; Adamantium Skeleton; Nerves of Steel; Tunnel Runner; Light Touch; Grim Reaper’s Sprint; Ninja; Gunslinger; Mr. Sandman; Silent Running; The Professional; Robotics Expert (sapper substitute); Piercing Strike; Better Criticals; Light Step; Action Boy (1)
So yeah I guess I min-maxed less than you did, but I also never tried it out, so no idea how well it would've worked. You made a valiant effort, however!
"oh Kknowley is playing something besides Payday tha- wait why is fishstick here"
I respect the ode to MittenSquad. Cheers, Fish.
bros channeling mitten squad, RIP. Would love to see you take up his mantle
I love how not only does Fish RP as a Spy, but labels other characters as TF2 classes too, just to complete the bit.
Super happy to see you do more diverse videos like these, and especially on a game such as New Vegas. Can't wait for another one!
I love how this channel is growing to other games other than tf2 love to see it. Keep up the good work fish.
I'd love to see you do more of these challenges, personally.
"I am the spy"

That was delightful fish. I'd love to see more of these!
I love how when I start watching challenge videos again my favorite tf2 TH-camr makes one
This was such a neat idea for a video, great work Fish!
Thank you for doing a video in memory of Paul
I've wanted to do a Demoman build for a while but never got around to it. I wouldn't mind seeing that.
Explosives (obviously)
Melee
Repair maybe?
Can't use projectile weapons
Can't benefit from perks that involve sight or eyes (so that glasses one)
Must immediately drink any alcohol you find.
With New Vegas' selection of flame weapons, pump-action shotgun, fire axe, and even a flare gun, it's objectively the best candidate for a Pyro RP
Which is why it'd be funny to watch you suffer one of the other two with basically just a flamer to your name
This reminded me of MittenSquad, then I saw your description. Love your videos, I'd love to see more Fallout NV + TF2 videos.
thank you @TheKknowley for this video format!
lmao I thought this was one of his videos for a split second
PLEASE make more of these with other mercs. Such an interesting twist is fun to watch!
really solid stuff, Fish, great narration
This was so much fun, I would absolutely watch more of these :)
"The Spy has already breached our defenses--"

I loved the video, please do more challenge runs like this for more fallout games, also reminds me of mitten squad, rest in peace and fly high
I love the use of Sly Cooper music.
"With my pants soaked in piss."
You haven't fought any snipers yet.
Oh, right.
Pyro run is gonna be interesting.
Honestly, I would have added the throwing knives in as an option.
Great video, your pain and anguish sustains me 😂
I'm genuinely surprised you didn't upload a stealth sniper video for this game before you uploaded a spy-themed "Can you beat..?" challenge.
this run actually inspired me to do a revolver only challenge
it was actually quite enjoyable, the build crafting, the roleplay as one of those rogue gunslingers roaming the mojave, protecting the innocent and purging the evil
yes man and I both loved it!
Great video! I feel like you could explain what was happening more for people who haven't played new vegas. i was pretty lost on what was happening
finally, my favorite gaming format with my favorite TF2 youtuber in my favorite game
This run was great, genuinely loved it. Would’ve loved to see more than just rushing the main quest through the most efficient method though.
This is a pretty fun idea and fun video.
I really like this format
The reason your disguise sometimes doesn’t work is because npc’s with the ranger scout or leader pretext ignore your disguise and attack if your hostile to the faction
Ps. Do soldier next
The easy way to get Chance's Knife is to just stay all the way to the left and run along the edge of the map while sneaking. You'll end up on top of the cliffs that the cazadores are in. If they detect you, their pathfinding will break. You can then do a bit of parkour to get bacck up on the cliffs after getting the knife.
THAT GUN! can also be obtained in the same shop at the back during the night behind a a medium lock pick door for free
Was fun, well done!
UM, YES. Please do this again with more of the classes!
I honestly thought this was a Nerbit video at first. Good shit! I would like to see more.
The black mountain deathclaw always gets you lmao. I remember the first time I saw it and thought it was a glitch
1:16 hey according to the comics scout is God's gift to women
I recently just got fallout new vegas and have been having a blast. You don't know how long I have been waiting for the next episode lol.
mittensquad's life force is being distributed amongst gaming youtubers
It’s fitting you betrayed house, after all, spy’s never really on your side.
Find it hilarious your character is telling everyone he meets that he is indeed, a spy.
Coincidentally I was thinking about this the other day for all 9 classes. Like what weapons they'd be restricted to based on their TF2 loadouts (I.e. Pyro would be restricted to the flamthrowers, shotguns, flare gun, axes, etc. or Heavy being restricted to miniguns, shotguns, and unarmed.), SPECIAL, perks, etc. so it's nice to see this partially realized.
Great video
Rest in Peace to the man who carried the tread, Mitten Squad.
I'd love more New Vegas content from Fish. The stuff that is here is really good.
Fun fact, you can melee the bottles when you’re clearing sunny’s tutorial
If you somehow mod the jetpack onto some regular civilian clothes, add insane knock back to the sawed off shotgun and double your movement speed you could pull off a Fallout 4 scout build that would feel pretty spot on.
I can feel the nerbit inspiration and I love it
Adding the gra challenges to the run was such a good idea. I hope other challenge runners pick that up bc man it made the watch so much more fun!
It wouldn't be the true Spy experience without constantly dying.
Picking up where another legend left off
22:35 what a glorious ragdoll
Yay i finally found a youtuber like mitten squad that isnt dead
The reason why Lanius died so quick is because his helmet sucks. It looks sick, but it has only 4 DT. Hollow points would of course triple that but compared to the Ranger's Sequoia's massive damage, 12 DT isn't going to do much.
Patrolling the Mojave desert almost make you want to beat Fallout New Vegas as the civilian in TFC
I’ve been on a New Vegas high recently so this came out at the perfect time, I’d love to see a Pyro or Heavy New Vegas run
I think you could turn this into a series.
Give the classes that would be OP a challenge. Heavy and soldier can only walk slowly, make a random notification go off that makes pyro kill everyone in sight, demoman needs to have the left side of your compurer monitor covered at all times
As for the rules:
Scout: S1, E2, I2, A10 (side with NCR to simp for colonial Moore), lever action shotguns, sawed off shotguns, slide-action pistols, baseball bats
Soldier: S9, E8, I1, A2 (side with Yes Man to work with the Enclave), missile launchers, pump action shotguns, shovels, plasma pistol (righteous bison)
Pyro: S8, P1, E7, C1, I >5 (You're going to go on murder sprees, so you kind of have to side with Yes Man), any fire based weapon, axes, sledgehammers, pump action shotguns, plasma pistol (mannmelter), flare gun
Demoman: P1, E7, L10, grenade rifles/launchers, frag mines (sticky bombs), swords, muat be addicted to alcohol at all times
Engineer: E2, I10, pump action shotguns, slide action pistols, plasma rifle (pomson), ED-E, power fists (gunslinger)
Heavy: S10, E10, I >5, A1, miniguns, pump action shotguns, spiked knuckles, boxing gloves
Sniper: P10, E2, I >5, scoped rifles, SMGs, machetes
Medic: E5, I9, must have very evil karma by the end of the game, nail gun, can use companions, but you have to heal them
Feels canon that Spy would eventually betray literally every faction there is and take over Vegas for himself. As the man himself said,
*_"I never really was on your side..."_*
Heavy soldier or demoman would definitely be the most interesting mew vegas playthroughs for sure
Should've gone high luck in reference to the glorious face-stab
Very good video! Would love to see a demoknight beat oblivion!
I'd argue that lorewise mr.House would have been the best option, since Spy is working for the administrator, for now, and she also has used technology to extend her life.
This was really neat
Oh this sort of challenge would be really neat to see you try with the other TF2 mercs
I like to imagine his power is directly proportional to how nice his suit is.
I love Nerbit, so will defo check out any vids similar to this when/if you make them. Otherwise, always love ur bwa content 😁
