UV-rays are filtered by the Ozon Layer which is between 15 and 30 kilometers high. There's no direct 'danger' in not wearing sunglasses while above clouds other than having discomfort of sun shining in your face.
While switching the Cross Feed on, the crew received an ATC Message. The CPT wanted to Push the PTT Button, wich is located on the left side, behind the sidestick - thats why he moved to the left - but then realised that the FO was already doing this for him :)
Professional quality camera's and editing and along with the names of area's being flown over, make these Pilots Eye video's a joy to watch. Any pilots on here? Could you tell me if the transition from 1st officer to Captain on an Airbus, not cause difficulties with ajusting to using the left hand on the joystick as opposed to the right hand? To me it would seem strange, if not difficult, to suddenly change the right hand I use now, for the mouse on my computer, to start using the left hand.
That was a very interesting and well done video! I loved it. My one question is whether all communication on all international flights with ground control takes place in English. It was odd that German-speaking pilots and German-speaking ground control in Germany and Switzerland were communicating in English.
Yes, all comunications is done in english, because a flight controler has no way of knowing every language out there in the world. Because of that, it is standarized that all pilots have to use english while talking to the ATC unless otherwise specified
+Gordon Clifton But I think that there are a few more languages that are allowed for radiocommunication : French, Spanish and Russian (?). Not sure though
You can speak any language you like, but there's no guarantee you'll be understood on the other side ... unless you speak ("aviation-")English. Especially in Switzerland where most "SWISS" pilots speak german/swiss-german, but French is also a national language (and italian), so we generally use English as an aeronautical "lingua franca", even for local flights
are you kidding me? I already said that the BluRay from Pilotseye is called PilotsEYE - Zürich - Shanghai. This BluRay INCLUDES also the flight from shanghai back to zurich. This video shows the landing in zurich.
+Lion -X The Trim wheels. During an automated Approach, the Trim wheels stabilize the Aircraft automatically during all phases of the flight. If the wheel moves forward, the nose descends, if the wheel moves backwards, the nose goes up. As Long as the wheel is moving, the Attitude of the Aircraft changes. You see those wheels in a lot of Aircraft. The newer ones, like the Boeing 777 have Levers that you push or pull. But those wheels are pretty common.
Hello ! Je vois que les pilotes ne savent pas nommer les villes roumaines, hongroises puis allemandes mais d'abord Allemagne, Hongrie et après Roumanie....
The Captain and Copilot take turns flying. One route the Captain will fly, the next route the Copilot will fly. The Captain doesn't just fly all the time.
vision is also better when you don't have the sun blinding your eyes. it's not difficult AT ALL to see any of the screens with sunglasses.....that's why I asked you that question
DUDE! NO!! Sunglasses don't mess with your vision AT ALL!!!!! Also, there is no attention to detail required, because that guy has been flying for probably 25 years! He knows the cockpit like the back of his hand.
The closed captioning contains the funniest mistranslations of German to English that I have ever seen, proof that computers are not yet smarter than humans.
It is the confirmation for the pilots, that they have turned of the autopilot and flying manually now. A second before you can hear the right hand pilot saying "autopilot".
No... they don't test your eye sight in pilot school. I should know; I'm enrolled. And this isn't about weak eye sight, it's about the sun blazing in your eyes. I personally dislike using sunglasses during flight cuz it just fucks with my head, I would've used a tint, I'm just saying that sunglasses have only positive effects in your flying.
Video davvero interessante. Emozionante vedere il mondo dall'alto... Grazie per averlo pubblicato !!!!
piloteyes have the best and cleanest aircraft videos really precise to the core
A 340 is very nice aircraft. I flew in A340 in 1995 to the USA.
It is a pity, that it is getting old.

Wonderfully done video, thank you for sharing it. It looks beautiful there, would love to see it.

International regulations require English from ATC and pilots. Both are trained and tested to a set minimum standard in the required vocabulary.

that's shanghai-zurich not zurich-shanghai. And I really wanted to see a landing at Pudong
What's up with the copilot landing and taking off the plane?
where is the landing in Shanghai?
Ich mag die Schweizer einfach immer mehr :D
uhm... what is the vertical speed optimal for descent?
1:43 the copilot sets the autopilot at fl200, but the altimeter hold seems to be disengaged?? Why?
what is the wheel left and right from the throttle? and why is it moving?
trim
***** cool thanks :)

Why turn the xfeed off? fuel seems balanced
the titel is wrong. Its from shanghai to zurich.
what was the pilot doing at 5:38?
what does that beep mean at 8:22?
Hello !
Je vois que les pilotes ne savent pas nommer les villes roumaines, hongroises puis allemandes mais d'abord Allemagne, Hongrie et après Roumanie....

Why you fly from.zurich to shanghai and you fly first over roemania and than germany ??
Sehr gut! :)
The Captain and Copilot take turns flying. One route the Captain will fly, the next route the Copilot will fly. The Captain doesn't just fly all the time.

Scott Mathews 1:47 I chuckled when he said: vomits
cooooooooool !
Wahnsinn
was an OK video, altho the "mini-views" were a distraction, and the actual landing wasnt shown from cockpit-view, which was disappointing.
????????? have you ever been in a cockpit before?
ich will die mal kennen lernen
i guess he was turning off the fuel warning signal. but i could be wrong
It is the confirmation for the pilots, that they have turned of the autopilot and flying manually now. A second before you can hear the right hand pilot saying "autopilot".
260 knots at fl 380?? :O
When autopilot become disconnected, why not three signals, but five? Little strange...
Old airbus have a 5 "beep" autopilot disconection aural sistem
