- Here's a rough lil run down of how to start designing a character lineup for the new Artstation challenge. Remember that this is just a suggestion and you can tackle the challenge however you like!
This time I'm joining Suzanne Helmigh as a host so I'll be helping out where I can with critique, guidance and FAQ. If you've been on the fence about joining in then this is the time to do it!

This was very helpful, since I tend to overthink these to oblivion to the point I end up stalling myself and end up with like 5 days to complete my stuff- so it's nice to see how someone else approaches these things, and its given me a few ideas on how to go ahead, thank you :)

Your thought process is super thorough and intentional. Helps me realize that giving yourself time to create context in the beginning helps characters to just about design themselves. Thanks for this video 🙏🏾

Thomas im also an artist who is doing this challenge! this video was supper helpful thank you for taking the time to create it. However I have a few questions. Firstly are you also partaking in the challenge? if so will you post your process on this channel? (I would love to see your take on this challenge, and since you are one of my favorite artists, I would definitely prefer to see your take as supposed to other artists that I might not like as much, that was worded weird but I hope that made sense.) Exited for your next post! thank you for being such an inspiration!

Nah not at all, music creation for me is very spontaneous. The most I have planned going in might be a vague idea of the genre. (Like the first main track in this video, I was aiming to make some chill spacey lofi vibe)

In the briefing it state " Two (2) high-resolution completed environment designs". Does this imply two unique designs, for example (a) one environment controlled by elephants and the other environment (b) controlled by ants? Or can it be the same stuff, both controlled by ((b)) ants, and then only a different level layout?

Best to ask on the environment challenge page as I'm not so familiar with the requirements there. But if were to guess you can show any two environments as long as they're from the same world :)
