But that's a misconception on our heads for we are too much attached for the suffering guts has in his trajectory, but, just by being the equivalent to the skull knight in this new part of the spiral of causality, is much probable that he is some kind of embodiment of defiance or some shit like that
@Man of Tomorrow The only special bloodline guts should have is being an Asian man whose entire family was lynched in a majority white European coded world.
Guts is the only character in my opinion who lives outside of casuality becuase in casuality he should have died at birth, everytime the strings of casualty had been cut he was a part of it ( eg: the count, escape from eclipse, and him surving this long). In my view the only reason ricket was able to slap griffith was becasue in casualty he was meant to join him therefore he did not expect it. becuase of guts impact on ricket he did not join him. Guts's birth is very significant he is a miscalculation of casualty or something else.
Wasn’t Guts still subject to the laws of causality until the Eclipse? I thought the fact that Guts and Casca escaped the Eclipse is what makes them exist outside of causalitt (in the Interstice).
@@patrickcho791 yeah probably, but its just a theory could easily be wrong, maybe guts was already disattached from casuallity before even the eclipse, And i know guts is needed for griffith to lose his sanity and end up in the dungeon, but what if he wasent needed? The eclipse happend a year after he left, what if he would of ended up in the dungeon some other way. ( the king didn't like him he would of never giving his doughter up, kushan army far stronger then midland, maybe he would of forced himself on the princess eaither way.) Just a theory could not be true, but i like to imagine gutss birth is significant to the story somehow.
Isn't causality basically the chain of causes and consequences that leads to a certain event. Guts can't be "out" of causality as anyone else. It's not supposed to be something u can just detach yourself from. At least that's how i understood it.
The idea the Void is basically Skull Knight’s Griffith is so interesting to me. I imagine the sage trapped in the tower had a behelit and used Skull Knights kingdom as a sacrifice or something
@@Madd0628 Skull Knight was King Gaiseric, and Void was the sage that basically ran the kingdom while King Gaiseric was running wild. Void (or the sage at the time) was said by the father (that turned out to be an apostle) that Void lead a coup against King Gaiseric but failed and was punished and tortured, when a beherit was triggered by his deep desire for his own kingdom, and used the entire Gaiseric kingdom as sacrifice to become the 5th member of the older generation God Hand (with a fitting big brain). This is evident by the other different 4 God Hands when Void became one, and the 3 current God Hands. Keep in mind a new God Hand appears every 216 years, meaning 1000 years has passed when Griffith became the 5th new God Hand (3 new God Hands came between him and Void), with the Skull Knight saying he has been branded for 1000 years, the math checks out. Griffith is most likely a descendent of King Gaiseric, evident by his own saying that Griffith is his other ungodly half, as well as the flash back of Skull Knight's vision holding his queen that looks exactly like Griffith when they were being sacrificed by Void.
No No, that theory that Guts may have a magical or somewhat special background goes against his character, Miura said so several times, is a mortal man, struggling against incredible odds. Its a nobody, forged by the circumstances and obstacles. One of the themes of the manga is the determinism that hovers over humanity, and some people trying to break free from the external influence.
Yep. Guts is just an ordinary man, one who survived when he shouldn't at birth. Griffiths is the one that might have a special background, pushed into everything he does by fate, and tormented by the godhand until he joins them.
Guts being some kind of fated hero with magic parents would make the story so much worse, since it would invalidate all of the hard work and determination he puts into fighting and surviving and instead just makes it som predestined fate shit.
@@lawrencefrost9063 honestly I'd kind of dig if his dad is Zodd maybe when Zodd was like a human barbarian running around. been a fan theory for a long time too
Not really tho because neither he or the audience knew it eventho the story heavily hints this alot. Guts has never been “ normal” anywhere in this story. Even the armor he uses isnt meant for normal humans 😂
Skull King didn't say his life as a human was stupid...he said his time as a king was when he made stupid choices. At least that is what he implied in response to Gut's vision.
My take on this is that he calls himself on what led to the eclipse and him losing his lover, even adding that Void knew Gaiseric before becoming a godhand, just like Griffith knew Guts. Skullnight calling himself foolish because he did not see treason coming and it cost him everything
The thing that makes me think that Guts’ mom wasn’t a witch is that when Farnese meets Flora, Flora tells her not to worry about feeling guilty bc the holy chain knights never killed any actual witches, making me think that witches were far too evasive to get caught even individually much less as a coven
If I remember correctly, Guts' adoptive mother dies from the plague and it's believed that she caught the plague from rescuing Guts after his birth. So she might have been a random plague victim that was pregnant, and the cloaks are like leper's bandages.
@@hariman7727 but why would they hang plague victims instead of burning them, which is how it was done historically? the hanging reminds me of the 30 year war in europe which were either soldiers but more commonly civillians being killed by soldiers or mercenaries.
I believe Gaiseric's empire fell when Void became a Godhand, Void was a close friend to Gaiseric and just like Griffith, sacrificed everything dear to him to ascend. Including the whole empire and Gaiseric's lover.
I agree with this and that Skull Knight dawned the berserker armor from flora to take him down and failed and as he was bleeding out he sacrificed his queen to become the skull knight we know today
Another mystery or problem that worries me is the Beast of Darkness within Guts and that ominous promise it made to lash out with all it's fury once Guts is at his lowest/weakest. I think more than anything that's going to be THE biggest threat right up there with the God Hand. I get the feeling if anyone among the main characters die, it just may end up being Farnese. That one would certainly be the most tragic and effect everyone. Making that vision Serpico had a reality...
@@nguyenvietanh2152Bro☠️☠️☠️ Come now, isidiro and farnesse neither deserve to die. But what the other guy said is indeed a problem, that beast of darkness could takeover any time now since guts has basically given up in the last manga chapter that was released
Is the moonlight boy and the demon baby the same? Because they come to Guts and Casca at a specific time and have a power to driven off monsters. And also demon baby died then transformed into Griffith but the baby's feelings are still inside of him which is why Griffith becomes the ML boy and comes for Casca to relieve those feelings which is can be a weakness that can be used by Guts that's why he takes Casca from Guts in Elfhelm and trap her inside in his kingdom.
the moonlight boy's affection over casca and guts will be the only way Guts can kill griffith or when Skull knight teleports behind Griffith and successfully land a hit, otherwise i dont see anyway they can kill him lol.
30:49 I think it might honestly be impossible to overstate just how important the Moonlight Child is to the end game of Berserk. He quite clearly exists outside of causality, being that he was corrupted by a member of the Godhand and should have died along with Casca and Guts in the Eclipse and was later merged with that very member of the Godhand. Which would also explain why the living Behilit saw fit to also take in the demon child, he sensed more than just a dying apostal.
I have to agree to this. One thing that is confusing tho is that of the connection between femto and moonlight boy. If he can pop up where he is does that mean he knows of everything?
@@Purrserker They are sharing a body, so likely. The Moonlight Child was using some means to get where he wanted. Rather it was Zodd him self taking him or the boy was using one of Femto's abilties and Zodd was following is yet to be seen. But I don't see a reason he wouldn't know what Femto knows. Though the bigger question is do the other members of the God Hand know?
@@naterivers6107 I feel they do, at least Void. Though moonlight boy exist out of causality, I feel Femtos demise may have always been a thing due to his ambition, especially if the deleted chapter is true
@bigcoomer6982 "I had a dream. Under a full moon, I was a child embraced with nostalgic warmth. But when I wake from the dream, only a vague sense of longing remains. That soon will disappear with a single tear, like morning due." This is what Griffith said in the final pages Miura-sensei him self scripted and outlined. The Moonlight Child isn't some form Griffith takes, he's the Demon Infant and lives inside Griffith. They change places during the full moon.
Pucks true name is 100% going to bit a big reveal. Most likely he will be powerful enough in his released form for the final arc, abs get an instant massive powerup
your suggestions has tied so many threads for me. when u suggest the outcast kushin bakiraka teaming with guts to take out griffiths army in the end makes so much sense when u say it and present evidence
The thing with the previous god hand members can be simply explained. Void 1000 years ago was the youngest god hand just like griffith and the 4 others in the background were older then void. As to what happened to them can be explained that skull knight probably sent them to the shadow realm forever.
Or it's similar to Marvel's idea of nordic Ragnarok. Hand resets every 5. Void manipulated thing to incarnate Griffith to stop a cycle? Or that's the purpose of falconia. Massive sacrifice to reset the hand and the world.
I was thinking kinda like this channels idea that skull knight doesn’t have long on this earth and he is around the 1,000 year mark so is void so maybe in the astral lands even godhand members and other beings alike can only survive around a 1,000 years so everytime a new godhand is born when there is 5 the 5th one either succumbs to the abyss or the 5th member dies and causality immediately starts work on the new members ascension keeping balance in a cyclic system
Highly doubt Guts is the offspring of a witch. His birth is special, but not his heritage. His son the demon child, mirrors Guts. The demon child is an astral being, mostly known as the world of the dead, but was born from a living being Casca. Guts is a moving being born of a corpse. That's the cycle of his lineage
3. Griffith's True Lineage: I think that in the recent chapters, there's a lot more effort in being more deliberate with Griffith's ancestry. In Chapter 363, they mention at the root of the spirit tree being the grave of the lady maiden of the cherry blossoms is the Skull Knight's former lover. At the end of that page, Guts has a memory from the Berserker armor of her looking a hell of a lot like Griffith with a brand of sacrifice on her shoulder. My educated guess is that Griffith is a descendant of Elves + King Gaiseric. Which makes me wonder if Falconia being rebuilt on the same grounds as Gaiseric's former empire is intentional for the final arc. You guys might be onto something @Marvelous Videos on Falconia becoming the location for another Eclipse. 7. How Will the Real Name of Magical Creatures Come Into Play? I think this will take a bigger role in the story than we anticipate, in Chapter 364, Danann makes a comment on the Moonboy having an air similar to elves. If this is true, and Griffith being a parallel spirit of the Moonboy, this would mean that if the Moonboy were to tell the Black Swordsman's party his spirit name, then his spirit form could be released. In turn, it could also enslave Griffith. Which makes things interesting seeing as the Moonboy hasn't spoken in the physical world. But during the fight on the beach, when Guts was in the Berserker armor and just about to turn on his party, there was a sprite (that looked very similar to Flora's Daemon) was able stop Guts dead in his tracks during that blinded rage. Perhaps it'll be up to Shierke or a more trained Farnese to tread deep in the astral world and find a way to communicate to the Moonboy and stop Griffith or at least find a way to make him vulnerable. 14. What is the Fate of the Black Swordsman Party? Without getting too philosophical, I think the parallels between Guts and Griffith are similar to the on going question of Free Will and Determinism. Guts represents staying true to your own path, whatever that may be and that even if the path may seem uncertain, that the uncertainty will be a continuous struggle, to fall down again and again, that you find a way to get back up and keep going. Whereas Griffith represents following the dream. Stopping at nothing to attain that dream. But it is Griffith's dream, everyone that follows him are merely pawns to attaining it. The difference being that everything that's happened since Griffith has arrived in the physical world, seems too good to be true. All the obstacles the new Band of the Hawk are facing from defeating Ganishka, convincing the lords of Midland to resolve their differences and unite under him, the discovery of the sky path are like a fairytale. To hit that point home with what you guys mentioned at 25:03 "Griffith now is akin to the author of his own story it's as if he's rewriting the very fabric of reality with his own convictions and he casually mentions that only those outside his story can now affect him." In order for the Black Swordsman party to not fall into Griffith's vision of causality, they need to follow their own path. Thematically, this is beautiful and I can't wait to see how all interwoven narratives tie together in the final arc.
@@ignaciopalma5972 basically, Before dying, Kentario told his best friend the whole story of berserk, and said best friend(who's also a good ass comic book writer) is continuing it for him(some people don't like the new guy because he's a Griffith fan)
@@AssholeTingler69 The character of Griffith/Femto was somewhat based on Kouji Mori from what Kentaro had said about it, and Kouji is heading the manga now. That said, the continuation at this point has lacked substantial dialogue from any of the characters which is a major departure from what the manga was like when Kentaro was at the helm. In my opinion if Kouji is a good writer it has not been demonstrated in the manga so far.
"My educated guess is that Griffith is a descendant of Elves + King Gaiseric." Charlotte is descended from Gaiseric, and it is possible that Griffith could be also. I tend to think that is not the case. I have speculated from reading the manga that Griffith was a very carefully manipulated plan of the idea of evil that had been in the making for close to one thousand years. He was not outright created, but manipulated to fruition by a series of unknown twists of fate so he would be the perfect candidate for the egg of the king. The god hand seems to need Charlotte and her lineage specifically in order to fulfill their plan, and from what I can tell they have kept her relatively safe until she is needed. I feel like when she is supposed to marry Griffith/Femto we are likely to get that answer.
So, what I'm curious about is that Guts was born outside of fate and all of that. I'm curious if he's the cycle breaker, and that's the point of all of this.
With Rickert. I think it is because he was supposed to be sacrificed with the rest of the band. Guts and Casca were marked so they are technically a sacrifice. Since he was outside of the event he was disconnected to those events so he exists outside of it all. I believe that is what makes him able to slap Griffin. Causality would state that since he was outside the key event he was supposed to die therefore Griffin can't do anything to him.
An assassin was sent after him right after that exchange. Whether it was Griffith that sent the assassain or his underling is immaterial, Richart has no special protection. He just had the balls to slap Griffith because they were once comrades and felt ultimate betrayal. Consequences be damned.
I would like to add another mystery that could be essential for the end of the story and that is the ultimate purpose of the Behelit Guts has been carrying with him since the beginning. Whose could it be and what role will it play?
All these excerpts from the manga have completely awed me! I just recently got into Berserk and watched the anime just this summer, and now I really want to read the manga!! The art is just amazing!!
3:23 Guts' parents are nobodies. That's the point. He is a struggler against all odds, not some foretold Jesus placeholder like most other fantasy protagonists.
I just think Griffith allowed Rickert to slap him because he knows he deserved it. It serves to show that Griffith is aware of what he did, and it reinforces that he *chose* to sacrifice the band of the hawk. It wasn’t just causality playing out with him being swept along, causality put him there but he chose this and he fully knew how selfish and evil a choice it was and did it anyway, that’s why he accepts the slap, because he knows Rickert is right.
It was a mind manifestation. He always said that the lifes of the members of the hawk are in his hands and he chooses their deaths and their place of death. I chose that far before it happened. That is how your mind works..
Had to look at it again, Supreme King Gaiseric is the Skull Knight, do you think Gaiseric had the berserker armor on when he was being overthrown by the godhand? Do you think Void just got that job position when destroying Midland? where Griffith would eventually establish Falconia. Guts and Skull knight are in some kind of broken space time continuum..
yeah tbh I wanna know how they're doing. I'm assuming there will be a timeskip and then we'll get some scenes of Rickert training with Daiba or something, that would be cool
If there’s anything in Berserk I desperately need back story on its 3 characters in particular first is my second favorite character after our boy guts himself, Nosferatu Zodd. I’m dying to know what he was like as a human or even if he’s human to begin with. Next would be Void. Is he the sage that Gieserick locked in the tower and if so why? Finally would be SkullKnight. We definitely got some sort of rough outline with him but there’s still so much mystery about him. I hope studio gaga has the info and the writing chops to solve and articulate the answers to these questions.
Not to mention that the bakiraka are now allied with Rickert and the Kushan Sorcerer guy, so they are definitely being set up as strong force that can join Guts eventually
I’m pretty sure the Godhand wasn’t always around and was made when Void become one. It’s not a natural group that was born like the sun, or a tree. This group is almost man made like for a purpose we don’t understand. “Void is the key”
Another mystery. Was Puck looking for Guts? I mean Puck at the beginning seemed to be looking for something or someone. That's how he was captured and ended up in that bar. Now that could be a retcon, but maybe, puck and Guts link was already in Miura's mind. But I don't think puck just thinks " guts is a good man with harsh attitude" I think he saw something in guts beyond his own comprehension. Maybe it was Guts what attracted puck to end up in that Bar. 2-I think they already achieved part of their goal. to join back Human and astral world. The astral world, was somehow in a different layer of reality, i think it was hidden in the layer of imagination. What i mean is that Astral beings weren't born from human imagination, I believer they were banished to the human imagination realm. By what? Idk. But for some reason whatever happened, it spared elves, however they lived in constant hiding for many years in a secluded island too difficult tor each without another elf. Also considering the assault on elfheim, id say the elfs were definitely involved in these events. 3-I don't think Griffith had any significance or important lineage, he's the perfect puppet for the godhand, Griffith would do anything to have his kingdom, so the godhand gave him the tools to have one. He's to them , imo, the best possible useful idiot. and whatever end goal they have, Griffith most probably doesn't know it. I also believe Ganishka was destined to become the next finger in the hand, but he went rogue and rejected the Hand. And Ganishka was also very ambitious. Why everything gravitates towards griffith? Well... Causality isn't really such, i think the godhand always had a hand in guiding griffith towards his ultimate goal. 4- Gaiseric could fall for the same reason Ganishka empire fell and the same reason Griffith empire may fall later. They all went agains whatever the hand wanted. I think Rickert slapped Griffith because Griffith Allowed him. I think There is some regret in Griffith's mind, And he seeks some kind of Approval. When his human side takes over, he becomes as mortal as any human. Of course that's just my theory. I think Griffith biggest weakness is his emotional fragility. He did a lot of things he regreted, He even regreted the losses he had during battles, he sacrificed a lot to prevent that from going on. Griffith isn't pure evil, but more a wwhirlwind of human emotions. Want, love, hate, greed. He decided to priorize his ambitions, but that doesn't mean he can't feel regret. When he summoned Rickert, he wanted judgement from him. And that's what he got. Ricker told him off. Whatever he has now, it's not the hawks, the hawks are dead, and he killed them.
If time is a spiral in this respective universe, wouldn’t that frame up that guts is destined to be the next skull knight character? The only other compelling way to carry out the storyline, in my eyes, would be that Guts is somehow the only one to defy time itself, given his defiant nature. Events repeating themselves is a huge part of this universe, so “Guts” being the one to break the cycle would be epic.
another pointer to void being the sage is that Sages are described as some further evolved humans with better traits, and it just so happens having 6 fingers instead of 5 is considering an evolutionary leap, void has 6 fingers
The moonlight boy or Guts and Casca's son will be the key to defeating / killing Griffith maybe even sacrificing himself to get rid of him and Griffith to save Casca and Guts.
@Man of Tomorrow It is also Guts and Casca's child they share the same vessel and switch places when there is a full moon. Thats why I said he would have to sacrifice himself to kill Griffith.
Guts is not going to sacrifice the boy, he doesn't like harming children, and more so once he finds out the boy is his own son. Casca would never allow it either.
i think defeating griffith is gonna be almost the same way when they saved casca from her mental trap but guts is just gonna kill him or lock him away in the world tree
I thought that too! The way guts fights off griffith as he tries to attack the mage girls I reckon it'll parallel to the end, and guts has to fend off griffith while the girls perform some ritual to sever him from the godhand
Guts will become to true white hawk. Mark my words. Also, the last thing I want is to find out who his parents are. Guts should be a "ordinary" man overcoming challenge after challenge through grit and determination. There is no way in hell I want him to be born special. You should become special through your actions and choices not because of whom your parents are.
I just thought of this but we assume the hawk of darkness in the story is either representing guts or is of Griffith, but what if it's actually the moonlight child and the hawk of light is actually the moonlight child and Griffith is the hawk of darkness or something like that.
I think Griffith is Gaiseric's descendant, thereby having bloodline to rule the midland, also in prev memory of berserker armor, we see prev godhands, but there's void still there, and gaiseric's lover dying in his arms, maybe void is femto to gaiseric's guts
On your goku video I noticed that you showed who the narrator for the video is .. I like that touch you should do that for your berserk videos as well … your the guy with the voice 😂😂 these videos aren’t the same when anyone else narrates them …thank you keep ‘em coming !!
Imagine the face of the princess, the pontiff, Sonia and the wolf kid if Griffith turned foggy at Rickert's slap. Same if Rickert missed at that range, or Griffith did a 'hee-hee' MJ evasion. He just had to take that on the chin. Peer pressure and the need for validation is Griffith's weakness. He can't show Femto powers in front of his subjects.
FYI: Guts will be a member of God Hand but before his party are branded he will rebel against the God Hand and finish them off one by one until the final showdown with Femto ~ 😎🍻
All of these are very interesting, espacially the yet unexplained connections between characters or the set ups for later payoff. This video has made me sad again, that Miura san has passed away and i hope Mori san will fulfill all of Miura san´s setups and present to us the best possible and fitting ending for berserk. The only thing i dont like is the idea of guts being born from a "special" bloodline and not from just some peasants, because this way he is more relatable to all of us normal humans who are also not born from a "special" bloodline.
How is anything relatable here? That guy has been fighting for his life since childhood. Raped, no parents and etc. thinking him being from some special heritage would make him less relatable is just stupid. Or how do you relate to him?
@@XIplupIX he is being put down in life over and over again, but always prevails and keeps on living and fighting no matter how bad it gets. Its inspirational and relatable to everyone who has faced struggles in his life and felt like giving up.
@@XIplupIX right now he is a normal human being like you and me. If he were from a fctional "special" bloodline with some superhuman abilities which enable his strength and endurance, then everything he has achieved would be ddminished and less impressive. It would also nit be inspiring anymore then because you could not do what he did since he is from a special bloodline and youre not
@@janis-428 I think the only unnormal thing I'd you comparing his daily struggles to yours and calling it comparable unless he might have a little elf blood or so then it is not comparable at all. But aslomg he is human you can compare how his love got raped in front of him, how he got raped, how his arm got torn off and all the monster he has seems. As long he does not have a little blood from another species. Then it becomes realistic.
I still hope Guts is a nobody. I get the hidden bloodline thing but it would murky the story so much. Guts being a guy whose been dealt an insanely unfortunate hand makes him so special
If guts mom was connected to some kind of magic or astral realm then maybe Guts has a "real name" that unleashes his true form? Just a thought.. connecting the two theories.. the astral name thing and the guts witch mom thing . Maybe some kinda ritual affected guts inside her womb and that gave guts a hidden form that he can only unlock figuring out his real name..? Maybe that has something to do with his connection to the elf's also?
My prediction: Casca will learn Griffith’s true name (spiritual/astral). And She and Guts will abandon their anger, resentment, and sadness about the eclipse like Rickert did, and move forward-damaged but forward nonetheless. Knowing the true name will bind Griffith/Femto. And Femto will lose control of the body he has and it will return to the child. And the child will become the dominant personality of the body that Griffith now has. It will mean that the child Griffith corrupted was destined to be his downfall. That his own act of violation would lead to his own natural downfall. Causality chose the baby to be picked up by the egg of the perfect world and to seek out his mother. And that is my prediction.
26:22 If you use your imagination and cut the picture in your head starting below Griffith's second to last hair strain and ending above the end of Casca's sleeve, you can see Zodd as a dapper Englishman with a top hat and mustache. 100% what Miura was going for.
I think there will be a mirror choice for guts to either sacrifice them or himself, and will probably choose himself, mirroring griffiths choice to sacrifice the others for himself.
Okay the Rickert theories are a bit ridiculous… Him getting a slap in was probably just Griffith showing some restraint and compassion for his former Band of the Hawk member There been evidence that Griffith has some humanity left in him due to Casca’s baby being his vessel for reincarnation He didn’t get angry, he wasn’t even implied to be the one to attempt to assassinate Rick. It’s more likely that Griffith was being stoic and letting Rickert say his piece. I think the scene was powerful as is without reading into it that Rick is some insane force of power lol
It makes more sence to me that void is the angel that came to grant the sages wish. Void is the only member of the god hand that has been around since the beginning. makes more sence he was created by the idea of evil to help make sure the eclipses would happen and put the brand of sacrifie on everyone. Perhaps void is the only one who can do that.
Guts lives outside the bounds of causality. He is a wild card. The God Hand can't see his future or the futures he affects. ( or had the ability to but doesn't always)
guts parents are uniumportant insignificant corpses. its guts' situation that makes him who he is. he is the struggler. his sheer willpower rivals the gods.
I know this is super late but a possible reason why Rickert was able to slap griffith was because he's an anomaly. On the day of the eclipse Rickert was supposed to die but through intervention from skull knight he survived and wasnt able to be marked for death like Guts and Casca are. When something not progamed into a game interacts with a piece of code it causes a glitch or error. Rickert(the anomaly or uncoded entity) interacted (slapped) Griffith it caused a glitch in the system which allowed for his slap to connect. Guts and Casca too are glitches in the system but once they got marked by the brand their fates were sealed.
16:28 ig sonia vs Shirke, muel vs ishidoro, guts vs Griffith, skull knight vs void,i think zodd will be killed by guts before fighting with Griffith, apostles vs magical creatures, midland army vs bakiraka alliance and i think we Will also be introduced to 3 other strugglers like guts and skull knight and they'll face the remaining 3 godhands
I’m curious. 14:00 I’ve heard the spiritual “true name” referenced in other works like eragon. I didn’t do much research on when each writer wrote about but is there some sort of author appreciation being noted in the writings of these two?
1. I am content without knowing the parent of Gutts. 2. Yes! The goal of the God Hand is important! 3. Like Gutts, the lineage of Griffith is not necessary. 4. Could be interesting to know the detail of the fall of the old empire, but not essential to the story. 5. The link between Griffith and Void will be interesting to learn. 6. Zodd is not a mystery. 7. 8. If the next meeting between Shirkey and Sonia is a mystery, you could say the content of the next chapter is a mystery. 9. Somehow, I think this mystery will stay a mystery, and I am OK with that. 10. Like 8, it is just a story not yet told. 11. 12. 13. 14. Like 8, it is just a story not yet told. And no, Gutts is not the Griffith to his new party. All members of the group is attracted to Gutts, but Gutts does not see them as tools. 15. Like 8, it is just a story not yet told. Your list of "mysteries" is, in good parts, a list of "what will happen next?". For me, "mysteries" are past events not yet explained, not how a story ends.
I have a theory and hear me out it gets wild. What if the reason for history to move in a spiral is the very reason there are 2 different godhands ? I think causality was first broken back when the kingdom of Gaiseric was falling to ruination. We clearly see, that back then, there already were 5 Godhand members, but where are they now ? What if, everything was suposed to end then and there and the last big sacrifice would have included the Godhand itself ? Somehow Void cheated the system because of unknown motivs and the cicle of filling up the godhand began anew while causality tried to rectefy itself to recreate the nescessary circumstances to end it all again. Thats why all of humanity has to be in Falconia and that is the purpose of the Godhand. Everyone has to be sacrificed to end it all and prepare an age of darkness or unconciousness. So what happened was, Void was part of the first Godhand and upon the promised day, he realised that the godhand itself was to be sacrificed and that was either unknown to them, or not part of the deal they made with the idea of evil. So he sacrficed his old collegues, prevented the end and now has to play his role as causality repeats itself and thats why he is as unphased by everything that happenes, because he already lived it. So he either becomes the final final obstical or will switch sides when the right time comes, so that our heroes at least have a fighting chance. I mean just fighting one of the Godhand is near impossible. Fighting all five is just not what is going to happen. So Void will either stalemate his current colligues in the Godhand, so that Guts and Femto can settle the final score, or he will repeat his trick at the old kingdom and sac the other members again when the time comes and then be defeated by Guts or the Skullknight.
Guts most definitely isn’t of any special lineage or mystical origin. If anything his unfortunate birth was the main reason he is outside of Causality and was never meant to live past his birth. It can be said all the times Guts nearly died were times Causality wanted to delete him from existence to not disrupt the flow of Causality. Also there is a paranormal understanding of why Guts is outside of Causality and it ties into him being considered an omen. Griffith’s lineage doesn’t necessarily have to be of anyone with past royalty or greatness but he was made into existence and put into events to excel his ambitions of greatness and power to supersede anyone else’s in existence which is why he is considered the Godhand of longing. Which ties into how he wants to be put in a position over all the world as its ruler. The Godhand’s purpose is to extend and grow what Causality deems as mankind’s ultimate desire. Each Godhand resides over a realm of understanding and existence of human nature manifested into a godly being to possess and manipulate that specific human nature upon human desire across all people. Zodd and fighting with Strugglers is simply his position of being the strongest seeking to fight the ultimate challenge is to offset the role of the Struggler against Causality. The Struggler is the strongest challenge and Zodd’s purpose is to have the Struggler not to disrupt the flow of Causality. The previous Godhand members were replaced by the current Godhand members. The reason why is the Idea of Evil bestows the Egg of the King to a Godhand with even greater desire and conviction to their traits of evil that can further manipulate mankind’s destiny and desire to suit Causality. Also redacting a chapter doesn’t make it non canon but that it was removed for a moment of time because it revealed too much and should be kept from free display so as to not distort what the intentions of its material were aimed towards. So what essentially happened was that an even greater servant to Causality was put in place as a Godhand member and the previous Godhand was removed from its position and since it gave into the Behelit, they were thrown into the soul swarm in the deepest darkest parts of the astral realms. A lot more can be said but I will save that discussion for another time
Guts is unbound by fate. There is another series that is very similar in concept to Berserk and that's Soul Reaver/Legacy of Kain. Guts is similar to Raziel in concept; both are not bound by fate and have free will. They are not part of the Wheel of Causality.
Adam Warlock from Marvel comics also has this power. When Thanos got the gauntlet, he was of course invincible, except for the fact that Warlock was not bound to fate, that’s why Warlock lead the war against him.
That was also an amazing story and very well written and represented through the videogame. I wish they can remake it. I remember hearing about it the first time and was very interested but I didn't have a PC to run the game.
The name thing is interesting. It doesnt seem like it applies to godhand members unless the names we were given are not their true names. I think we have 2 arcs ahead of us to wrap the manga up
if idea creates evil to give reasons to human suffering, then that implies that there used to be no reason ? mixing that with fantasia being common place around the time gaiseric was king. maybe back then “elemental godhands” were all that was needed. tragedy was purely/mostly a result of natural disasters or natural unavoidable pain. but then with the rise of gaiseric’s kingdom more people were hurting each other and building castles while separating themselves from magic. eventually humans became enough of a problem for each other that idea had to create void, the first god hand. as the years past more human reasons are needed until finally we end up with the five members we have. i would have this be supported by the fact that if griffith is the godhand of longing or whatever, he is also kinda the first character to ever have a dream. before him we don’t see anyone exhibit any kind of desire beyond surviving. longing makes sense as a reason or cause of pain and griffith existing maybe put that energy out into the world and suddenly now people dream and long and hurt each other as a result of their longing. maybe each member has brought with them something like this connected with their ascension as a godhand
It actually makes me a little upset that we don’t know anything at all yet about the God Hand, the main antagonists, in the entire 30 something years Berserk has existed. It really shouldn’t be the case, Skull Knight knows exactly who they, and Miyura made Guts into a character that doesn’t even bother asking Skull Knight. That bit of writing doesn’t make sense to me.
Skull knight and guts have the same future, same path. I feel the reason we keep seeing skull knight is cause everything and everywhere guts goes skull knight was already on his way. I feel we'll end up seeing skull knight fall just for guts to pick up his mantle, its a stretch but i really think skull knight is guts or is in the training to be skull knight
For the fall of Gaiseric's kingdon- it could have been that 4 angels (the God Hand you see the flashback) went down and made Void one of them, turning the story into 5 angels coming down to the city as it was sacrificed
@@hariman7727 Griffith had only just recently transformed, so there must be some period of transition between states before the full immunity kicks in. Mark my words, to defeat Griffith, guts will have to first kill his son = kino
@@k.constantine I think it's the other way around. Guts will be able to kill Griffiths, but will have to accept that the moon child will die too... And it's likely the moon child will help Guts in that regard.
My question is this: Has anybody ever sacrificed themselves to the godhand instead of sacrificing others? I would think that’s Guts ultimate duty. The message has been clear from the beginning. Out of all the poor souls, he was born to die in a specific manner and nothing will stop that from happening. Just my 2 cents and curiosity playing out
Griffith looks like skull kings woman who was sacrificed. Maybe he is from his blood line after all and maybe that for shadows he will be the sacrifice of the god hand.
I hope Guts doesn’t have any kind of special bloodline. I like that he’s just a guy that overcomes things.
I agree. That's what makes him the best protagonist of all time.
people always find it weird but I keep saying Guts is the Batman of the manga universe. Being that, he is only a regular human amongst gods.
The thing is he wasn't "normal" in the first place: so the question is still where his demon-like power as a human being comes from for example ..
This is exactly why it doesn't matter who his parents were.
Causality
Isn't causality basically the chain of causes and consequences that leads to a certain event. Guts can't be "out" of causality as anyone else. It's not supposed to be something u can just detach yourself from. At least that's how i understood it.
The idea the Void is basically Skull Knight’s Griffith is so interesting to me. I imagine the sage trapped in the tower had a behelit and used Skull Knights kingdom as a sacrifice or something
Surely! You can see the giant brand of sacrifice in that vision
Come back Miura 😢
Fact it happend 1000 years ago means he must of been the first of the god hand. Now the question is why are there 5 and how did void become the first.
And if there was another godhand 1000 years ago who were they.
0:28 Isnt that Glep from Smiling Friends?
No No, that theory that Guts may have a magical or somewhat special background goes against his character, Miura said so several times, is a mortal man, struggling against incredible odds. Its a nobody, forged by the circumstances and obstacles. One of the themes of the manga is the determinism that hovers over humanity, and some people trying to break free from the external influence.
Yep. Guts is just an ordinary man, one who survived when he shouldn't at birth.
Griffiths is the one that might have a special background, pushed into everything he does by fate, and tormented by the godhand until he joins them.
Does the magical berserker armor not also go against his character directly?
Guts being some kind of fated hero with magic parents would make the story so much worse, since it would invalidate all of the hard work and determination he puts into fighting and surviving and instead just makes it som predestined fate shit.
His parents are irrelevant. Unless his dad is Zodd.
@@lawrencefrost9063 honestly I'd kind of dig if his dad is Zodd maybe when Zodd was like a human barbarian running around. been a fan theory for a long time too

@@jerryglennii1406dont compare garbage like marvel to berserk
3. Griffith's True Lineage:
I think that in the recent chapters, there's a lot more effort in being more deliberate with Griffith's ancestry.
Are they continuing beserk??

@@AssholeTingler69 The character of Griffith/Femto was somewhat based on Kouji Mori from what Kentaro had said about it, and Kouji is heading the manga now. That said, the continuation at this point has lacked substantial dialogue from any of the characters which is a major departure from what the manga was like when Kentaro was at the helm.
In my opinion if Kouji is a good writer it has not been demonstrated in the manga so far.
"My educated guess is that Griffith is a descendant of Elves + King Gaiseric."
Charlotte is descended from Gaiseric, and it is possible that Griffith could be also.

That is how your mind works..
i thought that void becoming a godhand was what we were seeing with skull knights memory
That's my theory too, Void was a close friend of Gaiseric, same as Griffith with Guts and all the sacrifice part that happened.

Griffiths is pure evil now. He sacrificed his humanity during The Eclipse.
The moon child only adds a glimmer of feeling where there should be none.
Marvelous Videos has cured my sleeping problems. I love watching all these videos when I’m trying to sleep.

Guts is not going to sacrifice the boy, he doesn't like harming children, and more so once he finds out the boy is his own son. Casca would never allow it either.
Omg true! I never thought of that
i think defeating griffith is gonna be almost the same way when they saved casca from her mental trap but guts is just gonna kill him or lock him away in the world tree
I thought that too! The way guts fights off griffith as he tries to attack the mage girls
I reckon it'll parallel to the end, and guts has to fend off griffith while the girls perform some ritual to sever him from the godhand
The crazy amount of mysteries surrounding the god hand just make them the most terrifying antagonists in anime
FYI: Guts will be a member of God Hand but before his party are branded he will rebel against the God Hand and finish them off one by one until the final showdown with Femto ~ 😎🍻
I really want to see the origins of skull knight and as well as all the Godhand members.
@@janis-428 and his parents are how exactly interacting with this?
This was awesome and I enjoy thought out theories from other fans.....
Genuis. I had a feeling guts wasn’t fully human. He’s some how related to the idea of evil
@@thesigma2712I mean something has to happen, Guts needs a huge buff before fighting Griffith
Makes me feel very sad at the possibility of no real ending for Berserk. RIP Kentaro san
Why is Rickert's pimp slap the most powerful attack in the whole series?
griffith got falconia living in peace with literal demons that will one day kill them and that sounds much like our current real world
26:22 If you use your imagination and cut the picture in your head starting below Griffith's second to last hair strain and ending above the end of Casca's sleeve, you can see Zodd as a dapper Englishman with a top hat and mustache. 100% what Miura was going for.
0:26 why are we not talking about the smiling friends reference with Glep here?!?! God I love that show!
I think there will be a mirror choice for guts to either sacrifice them or himself, and will probably choose himself, mirroring griffiths choice to sacrifice the others for himself.
The manga is coming back in April 28th and I believe and new anime or animated movie adaption is in production
Its funny how the Sea God's heart and the Idea of evil looked similar
❤ the berserk lore! Best story of all time
I belive there's going to be a reveal that falconia is shaped like a brand
Thorfinn would forgive Griffith.
I thank God that we have Guts as a Protagonist.
Okay the Rickert theories are a bit ridiculous…
Him getting a slap in was probably just Griffith showing some restraint and compassion for his former Band of the Hawk member
There been evidence that Griffith has some humanity left in him due to Casca’s baby being his vessel for reincarnation
He didn’t get angry, he wasn’t even implied to be the one to attempt to assassinate Rick.
I think that Griffith simply allowed Rickert to slap him for some Reason.
Could be the simple reason to not appear inhuman in Front of Elisabeth and the pontif, he doesnt want to lose their Trust.
Assuming void was someone that Skull Knight knew, making him technically, Gaesric's Griffith..
Hear me out: The prophesy by Sonya actually was talking about Zodd and Skull night teaming up to take down Griffith alongside Guts
What prophecy are you referring to?
@@edmaister when Sonya and Zodd talk before him and guts team up
I’m curious.
Somehow Void cheated the system because of unknown motivs and the cicle of filling up the godhand began anew while causality tried to rectefy itself to recreate the
nescessary circumstances to end it all again.
So Void will either stalemate his current colligues in the Godhand, so that Guts and Femto can settle the final score, or he will repeat his trick at the old kingdom and sac the other members again when the time comes and then be defeated by Guts or the Skullknight.
it will be extremely disappointing if we found out that guts had special parents
Yes😊😊😊
Rickert can slap Griffith because Rickert is an ancestor of Bright Noa
What's the point of having free will if nobody else does?
@@OWlsfordshirethe ability to change the world.
I think we have 2 arcs ahead of us to wrap the manga up
24:10 I mean rickert wasn’t considered a threat so Griffith let him slap him in his human form
Guts is my favorite character of all time.
whats the music playing at time-stamp 10:10?
Berserk still had a bunch to tell, sadly we wont get answers to most of our questions RIP Miura sensei
if idea creates evil to give reasons to human suffering, then that implies that there used to be no reason ? mixing that with fantasia being common place around the time gaiseric was king. maybe back then “elemental godhands” were all that was needed. tragedy was purely/mostly a result of natural disasters or natural unavoidable pain. but then with the rise of gaiseric’s kingdom more people were hurting each other and building castles while separating themselves from magic. eventually humans became enough of a problem for each other that idea had to create void, the first god hand. as the years past more human reasons are needed until finally we end up with the five members we have.
i would have this be supported by the fact that if griffith is the godhand of longing or whatever, he is also kinda the first character to ever have a dream. before him we don’t see anyone exhibit any kind of desire beyond surviving. longing makes sense as a reason or cause of pain and griffith existing maybe put that energy out into the world and suddenly now people dream and long and hurt each other as a result of their longing.
maybe each member has brought with them something like this connected with their ascension as a godhand
He probably didn't think he was going to die.
Was just saying ... I'll be dead before it ducking finishes
I feel like guts is going to become a God hand, but a good one I would line up with Griffith. And the prophecy. 30:11
Ion think Griffith would let it happen lol
For the fall of Gaiseric's kingdon- it could have been that 4 angels (the God Hand you see the flashback) went down and made Void one of them, turning the story into 5 angels coming down to the city as it was sacrificed
Moonlight boy is the weakness of Griffith and will be the end of him, no doubt.
the moonlight boy will be the perfect vessel for the idea of evil in the physical plane, a being born of both the physcial plane and astral plane
Guts' sword can't harm Griffith, but it can harm the boy.
Then how did Guts sever the single hair on Elfhelm?
@@hariman7727 Griffith had only just recently transformed, so there must be some period of transition between states before the full immunity kicks in. Mark my words, to defeat Griffith, guts will have to first kill his son = kino
@@k.constantine I think it's the other way around.
Guts will be able to kill Griffiths, but will have to accept that the moon child will die too... And it's likely the moon child will help Guts in that regard.
My question is this:
Has anybody ever sacrificed themselves to the godhand instead of sacrificing others?
I would think that’s Guts ultimate duty.
The message has been clear from the beginning. Out of all the poor souls, he was born to die in a specific manner and nothing will stop that from happening.
Just my 2 cents and curiosity playing out
What exactly did the snake baron do? (It's a question)
Imagine skullknight is guts in a different time line or his father
Griffith looks like skull kings woman who was sacrificed. Maybe he is from his blood line after all and maybe that for shadows he will be the sacrifice of the god hand.
You make it sound like Void crawled out of the books and strangled Mura
