Something that stuck with me from a young age was when I was told, “You never know when an opportunity will come your way, be sure you’re prepared for it.” You just never know when you may spark up a conversation with someone who could change the course of your life in an instant. The opportunity could happen in line at Costco while you’re checking out. That one line has kept me out of going into public dressed like a bum since then. I never really did that to begin with but I was guilty of wearing basketball shorts to the store if I was in a hurry. Now, I don’t go out unless I’m showered and dressed nicely. Not over the top but presentable. Plus you’ll feel better being out and about when you’re clean and dressed properly. Another one is, “Dress for the job you want, not the job you have.” That has also really stuck with me.

This is more of a personality test than a "what's your type" kind of thing. Because let's face it, Brett would probably hate a guy who is just like her. Better for your kids too when they have a much broader personality impact to draw their character from. The “Home Depot test”: I would love to be tested as I enjoy DIY projects and plan to build my own furniture once I have the space for it. As a man, if you have the natural inclination towards working with your hands, have a sense of direction and can read signs, you don’t need to study the home improvement stores. My dad built my parent’s bed and a tv stand which is the source of my natural ability for DIY projects.

Looks just like my wife's nose. She feels the same way Brett does about it. It's a very "anglo" nose, and our beauty standards in the US are more typically Mediterranean. That's purely cultural though, there's nothing objectively wrong with an anglo nose.

Something that stuck with me from a young age was when I was told, “You never know when an opportunity will come your way, be sure you’re prepared for it.” You just never know when you may spark up a conversation with someone who could change the course of your life in an instant. The opportunity could happen in line at Costco while you’re checking out. That one line has kept me out of going into public dressed like a bum since then. I never really did that to begin with but I was guilty of wearing basketball shorts to the store if I was in a hurry. Now, I don’t go out unless I’m showered and dressed nicely. Not over the top but presentable. Plus you’ll feel better being out and about when you’re clean and dressed properly. Another one is, “Dress for the job you want, not the job you have.” That has also really stuck with me.

This is more of a personality test than a "what's your type" kind of thing. Because let's face it, Brett would probably hate a guy who is just like her. Whoever she ends up with to start a family will likely be fairly introverted (compared to her). Opposites attract because each fills in the weaknesses of the other with their opposite strengths. Doubling yourself might double your strengths, but it also doubles your weaknesses. Which ends up being very unbalanced and volatile.
Your negatives should be their positives and vice versa. Better for your kids too when they have a much broader personality impact to draw their character from. The “Home Depot test”: I would love to be tested as I enjoy DIY projects and plan to build my own furniture once I have the space for it. As a man, if you have the natural inclination towards working with your hands, have a sense of direction and can read signs, you don’t need to study the home improvement stores. My dad built my parent’s bed and a tv stand which is the source of my natural ability for DIY projects.

The Home Depot test makes a lot of sense, but is also very daunting because I worry I would not do as well as I would want to. I do okay with handyman projects and I know my way around a workbench, but I feel like every other 28 year old guy out there can build an entire house by hand. I joke all the time that they clearly taught some kind of master craftsman class in high school, and I somehow missed that day and have been behind ever since.
I felt the same way. I pick one DIY project from TH-cam at a time and just go for it. I've built my skills immensely over the last few years
