Boy your video going to save me a lot of work. Bought my first ever Milwaukee 6519-31 for a bush root stuck between a cement sidewalk and chain link fence. (don’t even mention a chainsaw; that was a disaster with chain that kept falling off). Was planning on using a pick axe and shovel like I did for the heavenly bamboo with roots from hell (several weekends of work). But for the regular hedge (that won’t grow back) this will save me so much time. I didn’t know you could put into the dirt! 💡

Never thought about going around in the ground, we all know the stumps are a right pain to remove.
You need to find a better pruning blade, my Bosch blades cut a lot quicker than yours.
I have the shorter sawzall, I'd imagine power to be similar to yours, but I find with the 8ah ho battery it has amazing balance, so despite all it's weight it is so comfortable to use.
I'd buy another battery, but Milwaukee has their new forge pouch battery packs coming, those on the saw would make it a beast 🥰

he said he made $1k... make no mistake it was EARNED... I cut 7 rooted stumps with my dewalt sawzall... some roots were 2 inches thick and spread for several feet... 1 root weighed like 100lbs with caked up dirt on it, tried to lift it up and into wheel barrow and was like nah... BE prepared toWORK even if you cheat with a sawzall.

I just did a couple weekends of backbreaking work removing some “heavenly bamboo” in a border along driveway. That sucker grows back and roots sideways under neighbors property. Finally saw a video like this one about a reciprocating saw. I know this is gonna be the ticket now but I have no illusions about the physical effort after using pick axe and shovel on the bamboos. Hell I’m not even sure that stuff won’t grow back. It’s insidious! 😤

@@DS-TRUCKS Dewalt is a beast... when I posted the original comment I was doing the FRONT of house... Now, about a year later I'm on the side of house... the dewalt NOW has some beauty scars but its still putting in work... I stick it right in the dirt and cut... I have 2 batteries for it with a dual charger... I charge 1 battery while the other is in use... dewalt battery also has life indicator on it. I'm using it way more than I anticipated... WORTH the money. EDIT: I just cut down a 20 ft pine tree on side of house... I used a chain saw to cut the 20ft tree down in sections... then I grabbed the dewalt to destroy the root... the root actually had 2 trees... double stump... not a problem... Yes I had to work but not a problem. I sure wish youtube would allow pics to be attached to comments... I was proud of that double tree root.

I knew about the sawzall cheat before watching this video... I Found out the hard way using a chainsaw... dewalt XR sawzall will get the job done too... I removed 7 roots... dig, cut... dig cut... dig cut... sawzall is BETTER than a small chainsaw... chainsaw will get screwed up with dirt (jumps off track)... i ditched the chainsaw and switched to sawzall... even with sawzall YOU WILL WORK especially if you have thick roots ( I had 2" roots spanning several feet)... I used a "wood with nails" blade on my dewalt XR sawzall... 4 amp battery... 1 blade = 7 rooted trees/bushes... I couldn't make it through 1 root without chainsaw chain jumping off track. EDIT: I said 7 roots... I meant to say stumps... each stump had several roots

I use the smaller version 18v sawzall they offer and cut all sort of branches at the end of my property. I will probably never use my corded version unless its an emergency and I had to cut for 8 hours in one day.( which would never happen). For the thicker branches I use The hatchet chainsaw. Both tools you can use one handed and safely. Best thing I ever did was make the switch. Dragging cords around is a pain and a thing of the past. Good luck.
