Kind of an old episode. This location is not even there anymore, but the food is still the same at other locations. th-cam.com/video/bimTfoMHUXQ/w-d-xo.htmlsi=b830vR7fv6irIj5T

Where are the excellent vegan burgers? I have tried a few places but I feel a bit disappointed in comparison to making them at home. I had one once in around 2004 at some pub near Yaletown I think. It was good but also seemed very animal like. I had to ask several times what were the ingredients. The chef finally came out and told me all the ingredients and it was vegan. But since then, every place has been hit or miss, meaning sometimes it is a banger and sometimes it is a stale school lunchroom affair. I haven't had the big mountian brand. I think I'll give it a try. For "instant" home burgers I have liked old school SOl burgers. I like that they don't seem like animal, and the flavours were good. Do you think the number of vegan food places has decreased since about 2015-16?
@@d.rabbitwhite Burger Crush has one of our favourites. It’s not a vegan spot but they have a great options and it’s not Impossible or Beyond. It’s definitely an old school patty that they make themselves. th-cam.com/video/UF2KpjVvkZU/w-d-xo.htmlsi=IuG2kFBv-0zjYBeW As far as vegan spots decreasing, I’m not sure if that’s the case. They come and go. But lately they are seem to be closing all over the place.
@@VeganTwosome Thanks for the recommendation. They do come and go. There was a vegetarian/vegan market in North Van that delivered all through the pandemic. I loved it so much I regularly ordered even afterwards. Somehow it couldn't stay open. I don't get it. It seems like there are more vegans than ever but - at least in the stores where I live, like whole foods, the vegan choices are less than they were in early 2000s. My next goal is to find reasonably priced regular donuts. Every year I want to get a few dozen donuts for my kid to take to school for birthday, but it is too cost prohibitive or the donuts do not really taste like donuts. It's cool getting info about greater van area, and P NW of the states.

@@d.rabbitwhite Cartems has awesome raised donuts.
@@VeganTwosome Yeah, but they are too costly for buying a bunch for a classroom. I like them, but yikes.
