Hi, when I was an engineer in Merchant Navy some ships had twin cylinder versions of these engines in the lifeboats. We hated them, they were so tempremental. We tested them once a week but sometimes it would take ages to get them to start, so many problems related to damp, no spark, poor conections etc. Thank God they were not needed in any emergency. My advice buy a diesel Lister for your boat, super reliable I always found. Thanks.
Everyone seems to be saying the same thing about your videos Adam, so I'd say don't change a thing. Personally, I enjoy the format you use. Your video content is always very entertaining and even quite amusing at times. I keep coming back for more, just like other folk so you must be doing something right 😂. On another note, you wouldn't happen to know anything about David Brown petrol/kerosene tractors would you? Got one that's been stood 20+ years and the stupid thing refuses to fire up and start. Any useful guidance would be muchly appreciated 😂
Back in the late 90's, we took our young son to Warwick Castle and hired a small motor boat on the River Avon which was powered by a little Stuart Turner, painted in the more usual green finish. The throttle was just an old style "pull to choke" knob, but the young 'un loved piloting his parents on the cruise !
You run your channel the way you want to we are all subscribers cause we want to be ! Ignor the haters and the do gooders....... don't change a thing your just brilliant 👌
No need to explain the way you post your videos, jumping from one project to the next and back again is more realistic and Interesting rather than ( as you say) editing a load of videos to make just one. I personally like the way you do your channel and hope you never change it.
Keep doing as you do! It's what makes your channel stand out from the rest. If everyone used the same method, all videos would be the same, and that would be boring! Now, what you need is the boat to put that engine into, and I'd wager it is reversible. If so, beware of variable ignition timing which could make starting, let's say, rather interesting to say the least. Of course, if it's not, then I'm spouting nonsense ( and probably am!). Just be sure that the starting gear has a working one way clutch, if you're going to use that kind of cranking handle arrangement, lest the little bugger has your hand off! That's going to be a nice little boat engine once you've fettled it up.
I'm sure you will sort the handle and exhaust. How are we supposed to chip in with our combined, always extremely accurate, expert knowledge and suggestions if you just show complete videos, where you do everything, perfectly, from start to finish?
Martham Boat yard, near Potter Heigham used to have Japonica sailing boats with these as an Aux engine. They were fitted with a dyna starter/generator. seem to remember, pain to start unless you cleaned the carb and plug each day and flooded the float bowl by pushing down the pin till it fired.
What a cracking little engine, I'd be tempted to build a small boat to pop it in. Don't change your format, i like the mystery of what might be next. I'm more impressed that you can remember what you've got. Keep up the great work.
Don't adjust the air cap! wound out 1/4" from factory and a should only be adjusted for varying in fuel quality. The slide asks as a choke or you can out a rag over the intake to assist when cold. God know what someone has done to the expansion chamber cover, what are those pipes coming out of it for? There should just be a blanking plate with Stuart cast on it. I probably have a manual for these online someone and can give you a rough date.
Lovely little engine im sure with a few touch ups here and there you'll get it looking better in no time, also what oils do you use for your 2 stroke it's an unusual coulor normally pink, blue or green?
Hi one more great video you are just as good as some of the so called experts Now some of you moan about me asking a question now of got the answer I never said I disliked it I just wanted to know is that so bad may be to some of you it is so if I want to know something I will ask, No one asked your opinion. I would like to thank you Adam for answering my question you take care of yourself and stay safe.⭐️👍👍
@@NorfolkMancave each engine is different, it may of liked running in the middle, it did sound like it was knocking (kick back) but I couldnt tell exactly as that handle was noisy😅

Don't change a thing Adam, Its nice to have a variety and not know what the next video will be. The projects always get finished in the end 😉

Great times hay. Popular engine in river boats 🚢

I would not say anyone is a hayter. I belive it was a genuine question asked out of curiosity. All is good.

Great format, please don't change. The end of the bodged handle looks to be the same tubing that the fuel tank supports are made from?

Great idea. Thanks for your support. 😀
Don't buy one , they hate damp conditions, electrical problems. Get a Diesel.
Put a battery drill to start it
You keep doing what you are doing. It's like mustie1 he will usually split his series up with something in between to keep it interesting
Nice little engine, I've had to bodge a handle in the past and thats even worse than mine

Aw great advise. Thanks.
I like the randomness of your videos. it’s like a little surprise 👍

Ow I never took offence to it. I took it as a genuine question to be honest. All is good. 😀
Привет Адам! Где сейчас ваш трак Bonzer?
I wonder what that was used for 1.5 HP seems very small to power even a small boat or dinghy but a bit powerful to run a bilge pump ?
Boating lakes.
I think the ignition timing is wrong...should be not more than 15 degrees before piston reach top
I think you are onto somthing there.
You won’t start it with that handle, fix or replace it and find some way of securing the engine while you start it 👍
Ow that handle is rubbish. 🤣🤣
Caveman welding lol
Ow my word. That actually makes my welding look pro 🤣🤣
You should of left the mixture where it was, no need to touch it when it's set
Yeah I did read up on that. Think it should be set at about quarter turn. 🤔. But I think this may have a timing issue. 🤔
