It is, but Black Panther actually didnt do very well. Worldwide $1,346,913,161
the USA is responsible for over 50% of the total grossing. 700 million dollars. How can this be? its partially due to propaganda in American media. I have no other explanation for this. Obviously BP did amazing in the states but in the rest of the world not so much...
to put this in perspective, Europe (including russia) has 2.5 times more people than USA and it only accounted for 239 million dollars. which means that the other 400 million dollars are from the rest of the world, Africa, Asia, oceania and South america.

The people making the next Black Panther film [Wakanda Forever] have gone on record that they will neither recast nor digitally recreate T'Challa, out of respect for Chadwick Boseman, and for his portrayal of the character, which has meant so much to so many.

RIP chadwick boseman, a legend, but I'd much rather see tchalla getting recasted. • @Saphthings

I'm white and even I don't see Killmonger as "goofy". To be honest he's a stand in and represents what's ironically called the "Black Panther Party". Black people have been abused and mistreated for so long that there are two possible approaches for them to be "liberated". One is to have all people finally realize that we're all one world and accept one another.
And the other is to actually say "f this" and just kill off all the oppressors. Or just beat them back when there's oppression. Now, as a white person, or another race, that might feel "over the top". But that's from the perspective of the oppressors or sideline. If someone's being beaten and enslaved by a person for them to think, "I wish we could get along" is almost naive. Someone in that position would truly want to just kill the oppressor and get them out of the way.
Our mindset of "let's all get along" is pretty, but it's almost innocent. And full of hope. And hope can win. Which is why Shuri said they need to help everyone, not just black people, or else they'd become like Kilmonger. They're betting on hope. We all are betting on hope.
But he lived a life of sorrow, pain, grief, and hopelessness. He could only see black and white, and although I don't agree with him, I can certainly understand him. The beauty of his character is that he died free. But we almost wanted him to just feel hope again, and be part of Wakanda.

I understand and respect you guys opinions even if I don't always agree with them. To appreciate Killmonger as a character on any level you have to have empathise with him put the race related stuff to the side just understand the pain he would of felt growing up like he did it's easy to harshly judge considering we grew up privileged compared to him. I think the convo on him lacked a bit of balance from you guys cause you didn't really put yourself in his shoes and talk about why he would feel like he did if you done that you'd have spoke about the fact that Wakanda created a monster in Killmonger can't just let them off surely Aqeel in the heart of being balanced and reasonable has to say T'Chaka "is a piece of shit" for killing his brother and just leaving his nephew alone to fend for himself without any help. T'Challa was 100% right when he spoke to his dad in his 2nd vision. Don't fully blame you tho largely down to the poor writing for him I don't think they did a good job of making his origin story more understandable maybe because the focus of the movie is T'Challa and Wakanda, they tried to cram in too much into one movie that was the first black panther movie they actually tried to cover a lot in this one movie compared to all the other heros first movies that are more focused on just them and their character.
The positive about Killmonger's involvement in this movie is ultimately it shaped the outcome of this movie if he hadn't come to Wakanda, they wouldn't have changed their mind about foreign aid so Killmonger as a character influenced some good change so it shows that despite how bitter he was there was an element of good in his vision in the fact he wanted to free the oppressed but the good stops from when he wants to gain that by mirroring the oppressors. Simply put tried to fight fire with fire. Would have been interesting to see what would of happened if they hadn't have left him maybe they could of explained why his dad had to die in time he would of been able to deal with it in a healthy way instead of being a killing machine and he may still have had motivation to help the oppressed without growing up so angry and without having the white supremacy model as his inspiration. After all he did still grow up in the hood, he might of been more like the T'Challa's ex who wanted them to help without the violence🤷🏿‍♂️
Also just for context the underwhelming battle of the black panther was largely due to the fact they had to rush it to get the movie out cause at the time they had a lot of movies to push out. There's lots of improvements they could of made to this movie given more time but still lots of good things. RIP Chadwick Boseman❤️
Sidenote no Bucky's arm wasn't made of vibranium idk how strong you think Tiny's chest repulsion unibeam is but it's not strong enough to cut through Vibranium in seconds. If that was the case Tony would of probably destroyed the shield in his fight with Cap. He would of been able to kill Ultron single handily in Age Of Ultron

But I guess it makes sense because since one of you guys didn’t even know who Michael B Jordan was it tells me that you guys don’t really watch or focus or pay attention to pop culture or to main stream things or has seen a lot of movies… which is fine but that’s where all the not so great assumptions come from. Wtf, they don't need to do anything. That's their opinion on what they enjoy, it has nothing to do with what you think.

It'll be interesting to see how their opinions change after they rewatch the movies after some time I think their personal rankings will change. Have to remember this is first time viewings for a lot of these movies.

Couldn’t agree more on the “villain” Killmonger. I didn’t really like that character either. The motivation of the character made some sense but what he wanted and the lengths he went to didn’t make much sense for me. That said, I enjoyed the movie overall and really liked the expansion of Marvel, the world of Wakanda and the various use cases for Vibranium.

I get with what ur saying he did definitely take great lengths. But that’s what villains r and what would u do if ur own uncle killed ur own father have u never seen the Lion King😭

I think he might of done some awful stuff but the movie would’ve been way worse without Killmonger

Wdym? He wanted to be king so he could help oppressed ppl all over the world. And to make sure that oppression and slavery never happens again, he wanted to rule the world.

@@h.edits.s no he wanted to use that as a guise to gain power while actively hating another race simply for sharing the race of those who have oppressed. We see patterns of it throughout the movie on how behaves towards those who don't share his race. That's called racism. There's a big distinction here that actually makes him silly. They try to pass it off as a noble motive but anyone with critical thinking skills knows that he's as silly as a typical twitter SJW 😂

Yo, how can you do this reaction without doing Wakanda Forever. This seems suspect and borderline Racist.
