Actually, Captain America Civil War was the first movie where the villain won. Zemo wanted to split the Avengers apart and he did. Ross: "How does it feel to put all this effort in and see your plan fail?" Zemo: "Did it?" The giant guys were the Celestials. Thanos is a Titan, tight en' as in tight end or tight ass. A well oiled Vis fell for Wanda. I mean 'well oiled.' That's what it takes to fall for Wanda is to be well oiled. Gamora doesn't have to love Thanos for him to get the Soul Stone by losing her. She can hate him and she does. Thanos has to love Gamora and lose (kill or murdelize) her for this to work getting the Soul Stone. He does love Gamora thus when he throws her off the cliff it works as he is losing one he loves and that gets him the Soul Stone. My solution would have been to use the Infinity Stones to make the Universe expand, resources to grow as the population increases so there will always be enough room, vittles, and raw material for everyone to live comfortably. Thor's hammer Mjolnir and axe Stormbreaker are made of uru metal. Tony and Nebula survived on Titan. New York is the new Tokyo for Marvel. Notice that Boise Idaho never gets attacked. Never. I'm moving to Boise.
12:15 Wrong…Zemo won too, people always forget about Zemo. Thanks to him the Avengers broke up and they weren’t ready for Thanos. I don’t remember their planets so I can only say a little bit about them. The children of Thanos group is called “The Black Order” and the members are Ebony Maw, he is the one that had telekinesis and other abilities. Corvus Glaive, he has superhuman abilities and other abilities, he had the glaive. Proxima Midnight, she has superhuman abilities and other abilities, she had the spear. Black Dwarf is strong ash, he has the strength to keep up with Hulk (Spidey caught his attack👀), he has the axe. There’s two other that they didn’t include them in the movie. All of them are way more powerful, as usual the MCU nerfed the characters but they are very powerful. Proxima Midnight is the most dangerous of the team, she can kill all of them and arguably Thanos.
@@bodigames Zemo to Everett Ross when he tells him that he fail..Zemo “Did it ?” Yes and No. Zemo’s original plan was to kill the Avengers by tearing each other apart. So he DID tear them apart but they didn’t kill each other (except for Rhodey, a metal leg is too much though). So we can fairly say that Zemo succeeded halfway and thanks to him the Avengers was broken and weak, so it was easier for Thanos.
I was about to mention same thing. People really underestimate Zemo. At least Avengers undid what Thanos did but they couldn’t go back on what Zemo did to them. He teared them apart from each other.
Well a lot of damage is done but ultimately they get back together for the Endgame battle so he succeeded to a certain point which is still under appreciated for how difficult that is to achieve as just a human with a plan and specific resources
Thor didn't take Groot as an elective really. He has the ability to hear all languages in English and by speaking back to them in English it translates to whoever he's speaking to in their language.
As others pointed out, those giant beings are celestials. Thanos isn't a Titan; he's a former resident of *the planet* Titan. Race-wise, he's actually an Eternal. [there's more to him than that, but I can't say without spoilers]
1, Thanos’ snap didn’t just hit Earth. As we saw since Avengers dusted away on other planets, that occurred throughout the Universe. 2, the point of it was “too many mouths to feed, not enough resources” but his actions didn’t necessarily help “sentient beings”. Unless his thoughts specified it, he erased 1/2 of all life, not just sentient life. Fish, deer, birds, insects are also life and food. Technically, trees and algae are living things too and apparently, Marvel did confirm that plant life was “snapped” too which was part of already not enough resources so that loss would tot have changed Earths atmosphere. Also, at the start, Thanos blew up the Asguard ship killing everyone.
To me what Peter said doesn’t make sense because he’s in space the moment he says it so technically he’s not being the friendly “Neighbourhood” spider-man . He’s being more of like the friendly “Space” spider-man
Y"all need to watch wandavision show after u finish avengers. It's very important for next phase of MCU & the best marvel show ever!! You're gonna love wanda more
Gamora crying after thinking she killed thanos I don't think is because of sadness or regret. I believe she is crying because someone that she hated so much and was such a tyrant to her for years is finally gone and all of the emotion that has been built up was just rushing out.
Based on Thanos reaction, it was for sadness If you're right, then his reaction was a completely useless detail that adds absolutely nothing for him or Gamora, which i doubt At the end of the day, she saw him as a father and loved him at some point, that is a reason to feel sadness
@@Cyclic727 Thanos was a bad person, case in point what he did to Nebula, and Gamora saw all of that. Many of the worst people in the world have firmly believed that they are doing the right and noble thing, but that doesn’t change the fact that torture and genocide are pure evil.
I don’t think Gamora’s tears were tears of sadness but more so tears of relief. He kidnapped her and killed her parents and made her a weapon and tortured her and her sister. Him being dead would be such relief for her.
The directors (the Russo brothers) have gone on record to say that while making this movie, they wanted Thanos to be this generation's Darth Vader in terms of an iconic movie supervillain.

Power stone can also be used to power up things. Like physical power ups or powering up another stone Also, Peter's reaction to Quill saying Thor is "not that good-looking" is everything 😂😂
40:20 yes thanos is a villain but this is a THANOS movie so he is the protagonist in this one. We started the movie with him, we were following his journey, we saw flashbacks of him getting gamora and at the it says THANOS WILL BE BACK IN ENDGAME. literally love everything about this movie and the best part is the name AVENGERS makes you not expect what’s coming, is one of the smartest decision ever in my opinion.
Also YES when Stephen Strange got dusted I was like wtf how the hell are they gonna fight Thanos now?? 😂 All the power people bar Thor got dusted it’s crazy
Some avengers are naive Steve: refuse to trade vision life Stephen: refuse to destroy time stone Quil: act without thinking Thor: did not went for head Tony: thinking he could fight thanos That why thanos win
I would question the Dr Strange example you gave tho what evidence is there that suggests he could even destroy the time stone? (This is also ignoring the fact given hindsight we know he wasn't meant to destroy the time stone, for the benefit of a debate we'll leave out the fact they all had to lose to win so technically they all done the right thing). Also you could add more to your list tho, Nebula: Basically told Quill Thanos killed Gamora without that Quill wouldn't of even been a problem(I'll point out he wasn't as much as a problem as most make him out to be). Wanda: Idk how you mentioned Dr Strange but didn't mention Wanda Vison told her destroy the Mind stone from early but she refused too. On top of that I don't think the movie actually lets us know how much progress Shurri made with Vision and the Mind Stone removal but Wanda abandoned her post before the job was done. Spider-Man: He is the one that snapped Thanos back into focus by shouting "I got it" referring to the gauntlet that he got off but never secured(Partly Tony's fault cause he let go to try restrain Quill) if he focused on securing the gauntlet we might have had a who different outcome of the movie with Thanos being defeated that's a joint fuck up by those two. Gamora engaged Thanos on her own making it impossible for Quill to shoot her before Thanos got a hold on her with her knowledge of the soul stone location. Also I never thought about it til now but hypothetical and maybe harsh to call naive but if she had just run up and jumped off on her own accord would that even have counted as a Thanos sacrifice? Cause technically without Thanos physically sacrificing her I would argue he don't get the soul stone🤷🏿♂️
I couldn't possibly rank MCU. Too many shows and movies that feed into this tapestry that make it a whole that is greater than the sum of its parts. I'm glad there's so many shifts with each movie
@Mr Shadow I said Tony is partly at fault, same with most of them, Tony let himself get distracted and as a result of that failed to help Spider-man secure the Gauntlet. Quill didn't stop him from doing that Tony chose to let go which is a mistake on his part. No one is solely responsible but everyone focuses on Quill normally cause they don't pay attention and realise Quill isn't the reason Thanos regains his focus he only snaps back into it when Spider-man says "I got it" referring to the Gauntlet. I wouldn't say Spider-man is solely responsible but you could deffo argue he made the biggest mistake
Captain and Nat isn't powerful as everyone else is, be it a superpower or some kind of tech, they are simple human beings, cap is a superhuman but still a human. Captain holding Thanos hand and that shock on Thanos face tells us the strong will power of Steve Rogers. He truly deserves to be CAPTAIN 💛💛
That’s because Black Widow was super nerfed and Steve was upgraded. Natt has a variant of the super soldier serum in the comics and she is like the Batman of the team, she knows the weakness of the team members and she can’t defeat all of them but she is definitely underrated. I read that they didn’t make her a super soldier because they didn’t wanted to have a lot of super soldier…look at how many we have now. They destroyed her character and took everything that made her more interesting, they should’ve keep it comic accurate and before Avengers 2012 give her a solo movie of her doing assassin missions and showing her origins, at the end of the movie they could’ve jumped into the future and teased her with Clint and make her the villain of a solo movie for Hawkeye also before Avengers 2012, they wasted both Hawkeye and Black Widow.

For context, it was stated that the only reason stormbreaker overpowered the infinity gauntlet is because Thanos didn't expect it, if he did a fully charged beam them Thor would have died
Your convo at 1:30, t'Challa had opened the barriers the outriders were breaching it. I would say the barrier was pretty compromised by the time those 'saw wheels' came in.
Thanos erased half the population at random. But I think he made some exceptions about who to keep. Only a few of them. Like maybe he thought they were worthy in his opinion. People like Tony, Steve, The Hulk, Thor, etc. Cuz they kinda gave him hard times. At least fought him in a way that impressed him. Like when Steve was holding off Thanos' hand when Thanos was trying to push him away, he seemed kinda impressed with Steve!
People mention that its odd hulk lost so quick to Thanos. The problem is the hulk is not at his full potential when he first transforms, as people know the angrier he gets the stronger he gets, however he needs time to get angry and get more powerful, where as Thanos can just hit at full force straight away. Other superheroes have used this 'flaw' in the comics against him before (granted only really powerful beings can match even hulks base power level to start with, so its only a 'flaw' against a few). Even then Thanos does have a couple of infinity stones, so he could call on them to assist, but in the movie, he just simply is too powerful for a low anger level hulk regardless of the stones.
Yeah but Ego literally kept her around to put him to sleep it's not like he was trying to resist her but Thanos was resisting with all his mite which is why she was struggling to hold it🤷🏿♂️
@@Jacoc323 I mean towards the end. She was doubting that she could put him to sleep when he didn’t want to be put to sleep. When Drax told her he believed in her. She did pretty easily.
Oh right I forgot about the end bit, tbh I'm not a fan of Gotg2 so I forgot but I fully hear what your saying. Mantis is one of three things I like about gotg2 to me it's a shame this is only her 2nd movie so you don't really have many examples to gauge the limit of her power on different beings, now that you mention it it's weird that she couldn't put Thanos to sleep but could put a Ego. It'll remain an unanswered question as to what about Thanos made her affect on him so limited far as I know🤷🏿♂️
Thanos using bubbles make me so happy. The game Marvel vs Capcom 2 where Thanos was playable and for some reason he had bubbles as a projectile... Nobody knew why. Thanos just likes bubbles
Great discussion... but you need to have this exact conversation a few movies from now as well. Events in a later movie will add a lot of context (and a ton of people seem to miss the implications of that movie)
According to MCU encyclopedia, Thanos is an Eternal as well as a mutant. It also said he is 200x stronger than the Hulk, but not when Hulk is p.o.'d...
I believe that thanos loves gamora like a father would love their daughter or else the sacrifice would not have worked and thanos he’d be just like red-skull stuck at the top if it wasn’t true fatherly love
Everyone watching blames Quill for messing up. You have to remember, Doctor Strange saw 14,000,605 possibilities and only 1 where they win. Everything after him viewing those alternate futures HAD to happen that way.
Still wild that people will blame Peter. He was willing to kill Gamora to stop Thanos getting her. And Garmora gave up the Soul Stone for someone who most of her life tried to kill Gamora. If you're going to blame Peter, then Gamora deserves mroe blame
I don't know you guys care about Tony or not anymore but he is trying to stop since Ironman 3.....after Avengers he realized that he is nothing but just a man in a can.....but he failed in both Age of ultron and in Civil War.....this movie he decided to throw himself in the fire by going after Thanos instead of waiting for him.......thats is his whole arc and I love it
Wakanda is very selective with who they give out with their stuff too. They aren't just going to start handing out weapons. Also you have to think that this stuff all went down in a day or so? So they don't have time to make stuff and Cap doesn't have time to go ask Tony for his shield. 😐
Thanos lets his arrogance get in the way of his intelligence, instead of killing half to save the other half, he had the power to just create endless resources for all. and encourage all life to thrive. Thanos was wrong.

“Who’s gonna fix it? Tony doesn’t know shit” that’s not going to age well after they watch endgame😭
30:44 uh... Why is Tony to blame here though??
Proxima Midnight is the most dangerous of the team, she can kill all of them and arguably Thanos.
false zemo wanted them to kill each other which did not happen. also Cap send tony an apology and Tony accepted it.
@@bodigames Zemo to Everett Ross when he tells him that he fail..Zemo “Did it ?”
Yes and No.
I see your argument, but if the Avengers ever re-assemble, a win would quickly turn to a loss.
Almost everyone (:
The Asgard part is incorrect. We see a ship flying away at the start and Thor blatantly says that only half of the Asgardians were killed
@@TechnoArpan I'll have to watch again and pay attention. I guess I missed the ship fly away.
To me what Peter said doesn’t make sense because he’s in space the moment he says it so technically he’s not being the friendly “Neighbourhood”
spider-man . He’s being more of like the friendly “Space” spider-man
Y"all need to watch wandavision show after u finish avengers. It's very important for next phase of MCU & the best marvel show ever!! You're gonna love wanda more
Finally it's here . This is what all the previous movies were leading up to
Gamora crying after thinking she killed thanos I don't think is because of sadness or regret. I believe she is crying because someone that she hated so much and was such a tyrant to her for years is finally gone and all of the emotion that has been built up was just rushing out.
If you think about it, Thanos isn’t a bad person, just someone with falsified ideals. I doubt Gamora hated Thanos outside of him being an extremist
Based on Thanos reaction, it was for sadness
If you're right, then his reaction was a completely useless detail that adds absolutely nothing for him or Gamora, which i doubt
At the end of the day, she saw him as a father and loved him at some point, that is a reason to feel sadness
Man I wish these guys would've watched Agents of Shield along with the films. It's so underrated. It still works on its own though

Incredibly underrated.
There’s few seasons in TV as good as season 4 of AOS.
25:40 thanos dragging gamora like yo momma taking you outside for a whoopin’ was hilarious
I love how much Aqeel loves Wanda, same here bro
When you think about it this movie is Thanos's story. Really start with him and it's probably the most we follow the villain in any of the MCU movies.
Power stone can also be used to power up things. Like physical power ups or powering up another stone
Also, Peter's reaction to Quill saying Thor is "not that good-looking" is everything 😂😂
“Tony doesnt know shit”
U just wait my friend 🙃
THOR INTRO IS AMAZING
Pratt actually does one hell of a Thor impression lolol it's actually spot on!
really enjoying your MCU reactions! love the analysis, really nostalgic. reminds me of having these discussions back in the day, fun to see your povs
The Soul Stone controls souls. In other words it controls the essence or a person and controls live and death
Please react to wandavision after endgame because Its sooo crucial to the MCU plot for the new phase
28:32 in the time where we get real goosebumps
Some avengers are naive
Steve: refuse to trade vision life
Stephen: refuse to destroy time stone
Quil: act without thinking
Thor: did not went for head
Tony: thinking he could fight thanos
That why thanos win
The Quill and Thor parts are more about being way too emotional
I would question the Dr Strange example you gave tho what evidence is there that suggests he could even destroy the time stone? (This is also ignoring the fact given hindsight we know he wasn't meant to destroy the time stone, for the benefit of a debate we'll leave out the fact they all had to lose to win so technically they all done the right thing).
Also you could add more to your list tho,
Nebula: Basically told Quill Thanos killed Gamora without that Quill wouldn't of even been a problem(I'll point out he wasn't as much as a problem as most make him out to be).
@@Jacoc323 how long does it takes you to type it

I couldn't possibly rank MCU. Too many shows and movies that feed into this tapestry that make it a whole that is greater than the sum of its parts. I'm glad there's so many shifts with each movie
MVPs: Thor, Wanda, Strange, Tony
You forgot Groot.
"Blaming Tony for that one" what
He's deffo partly to blame but not solely to balme. The only one she not partly to blame is Mantis, Drax and Strange
@@Jacoc323 other person makes mistake that you try to stop = your fault
Ur right y he got blamed.they hate tony so much that he get blame for everything
@@Jacoc323 By that logic it's actually Spider-Man's fault for shouting "I got it" and also Mantis, Drax and Nebula's fault for not helping him.
I fucking lost it at, "That's more than zero. A lot more than zero."

He accidentally slipped up at the end and said "When i first watched this with my friends" I was like fuck off. Wasn't this supposed to be the first time watching?
For context, it was stated that the only reason stormbreaker overpowered the infinity gauntlet is because Thanos didn't expect it, if he did a fully charged beam them Thor would have died
It was fun watching you!

Love the reaction guys!! Can’t wait for Endgame!!!
Man the lack of faith in Tony is disappointing
The first MCU film where the villain won was Captain America: Civil War.
Zemo set out to break up the Avengers. It worked.
The soul stone is the orange colored realm that Thanos went to after he snapped. It is the place where all the snapped souls go to.
The theater I was in was like a funeral. Shocked mournful silence.
Mantis was able to put Ego to sleep pretty easily but she struggled to put Thanos to sleep. Ego was a celestial… that says something.

Great discussion... but you need to have this exact conversation a few movies from now as well. Events in a later movie will add a lot of context (and a ton of people seem to miss the implications of that movie)
The villain won in Civil War. He did what he set out to do. Broke the Avengers, which plays a part into how Thanos wins here
42:47 the Titans and the Celestials introduced in Guardians of the Galaxy are 2 different groups of beings.
Bro. Holding Thanos with 5 infinity stones and destroying a freaking Infinity Stone is a HUGE deal wtf are you talking about?
The planet Vormir was filmed here in Brazil =) That place is really something else S2
According to MCU encyclopedia, Thanos is an Eternal as well as a mutant. It also said he is 200x stronger than the Hulk, but not when Hulk is p.o.'d...
Love your reactions boys
The villain wins in civil war as well... He was captured but his goal was to destroy the avengers and he managed that (at least for the time)
The villain won in Civil War too. He wanted to break up. The Avengers. He did that.
Also if they won, the Eternals could’ve not have much time to reunite and stop Tiamut’s emergence and bye bye MCU Earth Characters ☹️
Still wild that people will blame Peter. He was willing to kill Gamora to stop Thanos getting her. And Garmora gave up the Soul Stone for someone who most of her life tried to kill Gamora. If you're going to blame Peter, then Gamora deserves mroe blame
I don't know you guys care about Tony or not anymore but he is trying to stop since Ironman 3.....after Avengers he realized that he is nothing but just a man in a can.....but he failed in both Age of ultron and in Civil War.....this movie he decided to throw himself in the fire by going after Thanos instead of waiting for him.......thats is his whole arc and I love it
And he got injured in iron man 3 in real life
Wanda could have atomically divide thanos with a blink
To answer your question drax gamora is still because THANOS saved her and raised her as his own daughter
This movie had all MCU fans shook for a year
Nobody is more angry than the middle guy.

Wakanda is very selective with who they give out with their stuff too. They aren't just going to start handing out weapons. Also you have to think that this stuff all went down in a day or so? So they don't have time to make stuff and Cap doesn't have time to go ask Tony for his shield. 😐
Thor can definitely destroy thanos bruh, the fact that he should’ve aimed to the head KILLED ME
The beings from gotg were celestials, they're like thousands times thanos's size.
Thanos lets his arrogance get in the way of his intelligence, instead of killing half to save the other half, he had the power to just create endless resources for all. and encourage all life to thrive. Thanos was wrong.
