  • This had been in a garage in Michigan for the past 25 yrs or so. Of this year, Father received this from my Grandparents for what they paid for it (undisclosed amount) What makes it so remarkable is the 16,000 miles on it, which you don't see. It even still has the original transmission fluid in it.
It does run with some start up help, but we have driven it to nearby car shows in out area. The roomy space on these old cars is amazing and driving this, is different but not has difficult has I thought it would be, because of no power steering. With no air conditioning, on a normal great day is even better than a modern cars AC. We have a joke about it, with the little windows in front all the way, "You left the AC on".
It still needs a lot of work, but we are going to keep it as original as possible. Some people change over to a 12 volt system instead of 6, but original feel is what we're going for.
For a vehicle like this to be a Northern car in this shape and not all rusted, says something on how little its been driven.

Beautiful original condition 53 Chevy but that's not the Bel-Air that's the 210 model . The Bel Air has the Bel Air written on the side rear panels with the Strip. awesome original Shape hard to find them like that nowadays👍🏼

nice car. but the moldings proves that it`s not a bel air. it`s a 210 model. And it has a straight 6 engine. not V6.

Glenn Lego since it's an automatic, they came with the 235 I believe it was. The manuals had other options.

That young man needs to learn his cars he said it's been around longer than he's been alive he called it a Bel-Air and it's the 210 Chevy 210 it doesn't have the Bel-Air trimming on it

He also needs to learn the difference between a "V6" (as he incorrectly called the engine), and an inline six, which this is.

It's a 210 not a bel air and it's an inline 6 not a V6, and the odometer has more than likely been rolled over and its 116,000 miles. If not it sure lived a hard life in that garage..

    • @TheSoulMan11
      @TheSoulMan11  6 ปีที่แล้ว

Robert Braun Its most certainly is a bel air, before commenting please do your research. In regards to the transmission; with it being the power glide automatic they put 235 engines in them.
The v6 part was my mistake.
Note also my father who owns the car had 37 years in GM before he retired. My grandfather who was a quality engineer for 25 years retired from Chevy.
As for Miles, as was addressed to some, I understand role back; however the car apart from age looks great inside and out. With very little work, he ran after 28 years.

@@TheSoulMan11 confidently incorrect. Its a 210 model, not a bel air. Its an inline 6, not a v6. You have a nice car there, but get your facts straight before correcting others.

i got a 50 chevy in 67 with 12000 miles on it it was a night mare had to replace everything on it all the brake lines master cylinder valves at 18000 miles starter at 20000 lots of batteries voltage regulators and a generator points spark plugs leaky gas tank replace fuel lines fuel pump points, vacuum pump for windshield wipers, tubes in the radio, i took it to k mart for a grease job a couple of times with the book on where the 45 or 50 fittings were and the guy said don't bring that car here any more also the muffler and two times to replace the tailpipe and a brake job then all brake cylinder started leaking plus the tires were worn out about 18000 miles ( although the original super balloon whitewall was in the trunk when i junked it) it sucked gas & oil like mad about a quart of oil 800 to 1000 miles i can't remember what the gas milage was because nobody worried about it . it was built like a tank two door hard top real soft seats a guy hit me in the back at my speed of 25 miles an hour and his about 50 0r 60 with a rambler he was drunk the radiator was touching the pavement it broke the front seat back and my head broke that little rear window on the side he was trying to start his car (ha ha) i had two hundred and fifty dollars damage to that old chevy he said he couldn't see those little taillights i continued to use the car for about a year or so but i kept the license plate lights and sold those in 2012 for 20 bucks was the guy happy to find them oh the best part that i remember was when i took the head off there was a machine shop chip shaped in a perfect six 5/8 of an inch in size well thats about it . i junked the car with 24000 miles on it i think i got 20 bucks for it in 1970 . oh i drove it home after the accident . they scraped the rambler off the ground .

    • @TheSoulMan11

originally stock, its 6 volt but many people convert to 12 volts. Currently we still have it 6 and probably will keep it that way

Dude it is not a 16K car. At least 116K and probably more than that. Come on 16K would be about 255 miles per year average. No way that is accurate. You have a lot to learn about cars, it is a nice car but try to do some research if you don't even know the difference between an inline 6 and a v6. Good luck and not trying to piss you off but be realistic.
