    THE BEST red velvet cupcake recipe EVER!!!! I make the mini size though (I like the ratio of frosting to cake better in the mini size), and I put them in the oven for around 12 minutes for a pan of 24 minis :)

    Beet juice: I would take a can of beats, separate beets from liquid and cook down so water is evaporated. Then you have beet juice which is better for you by far then red food coloring. Love your cooking, and you are just so cute. Love the Italian humor!

    • @r3d0c
      @r3d0c 10 ปีที่แล้ว

      there's nothing bad about red food coloring, this isn't the 60s, FDA food regulations exist and are followed rigorously ... the only efficient thing about the government

    • @haleenewilliams6446
      @haleenewilliams6446 10 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      rhn94
      LOL The FDA, doesn't even conduct the test, they have the person or Co. who represents the products do it (with their guide lines) and turn in their findings to the FDA. Allot like the police policing themselves or congress deciding if they should give themselves a raise or not. LOL
      Followed rigorously. Sorry to burst your bubble, but government isn't efficient in any dept.

    • @r3d0c
      @r3d0c 10 ปีที่แล้ว

      Haleene Williams If you're a tin foil hatter then everything's a conspiracy; if you're a objectively rational person, then you would see that most food coloring is made using plant products, it's a little different in the US but if the evidence presented itself it would be banned but no such evidence exists.
      North America has become a nanny state which is a good thing in certain areas since everything needs to be regulated/inspected.
      If you have proof of food coloring being bad for you, then why don't you go to the media/government, present it, and then set the wheels in motion to get it removed?
      Oh wait, you don't, you're just one of those morons who thinks they know everything / one of those natural type people who think everything from the ground/earth is better for you.

    Hello Laura! Hahahaha back in 2013, you were the one I have been watching when I was just starting to bake. Back in that time, I watch this video a lot of times that I have memorized what you say here and the way you speak! Hahaha I mimic this while making the red velvet cupcakes that time as if I were you. Now, I enjoy making new baking stuffs then I also had a chance to make it as a small business out of my hobby. I'm really thankful for having to learn baking because of you!

    To substitute buttermilk, just take 1 cup of regular milk and 1 tablespoon of lemon or vinegar and that's it.
    I used lemon and I could taste a veeeerrrryyy faint taste of lemon in the cupcake and it tastes great.

      The vinegar and buttermilk react with the cake's cocoa. Cocoa powder traditionally has anthocyanins; these are compounds that are also found in foods like red cabbage (which also features in many elementary school science projects). Red cabbage leaves can be used as pH indicators, getting redder in the presence of strong acids. It's the anthocyanins that change color in the cabbage, and they do the same in the cocoa, giving it a red finish.

      to have a moist cupcake, u need to watch out for the 'dry ingridients' (the cocoa, flour, sugar, salt etc) so that they put in the last step during mixing. mix them well, not to long, just enough too mix them all together and hopefully that helps u with the moistness. :D

    i know butter milk is hard to find in some countries but you can make it at home just add a bit of vinegar to the milk about half a tea spoon depends on how much milk you are using:) hope that helped :)

    I have those moments before of when you get to taste the frosting to test it out for the sweetness and then immediately when I find out it tastes so good, I always have the need to just eat the whole bowl of the frosting lol!! I love you Laura! 💖😊

    Omg I had forgotten how good these cupcakes tasted. I had created another velvet recipe and they were so dry and a bit hard. These came out fluffy and soo moist. Not to mention, not that sweet! Which is why I don't eat bakery or store bought cupcakes, cakes, etc. I fell like I'm going to get a diabetes attack (btw I'm not diabetic). These were great to make especially because the recipes makes a small batch. *suggestions* fill cupcakes about half way. And Laura please make a lemon cupcake!
