Never met him but will remember him forever, for exactly who he was and with the powers of music who he “is”. And trust me I’m still getting to know him more as I myself grow older down here lol.

I never got to see him live so I'll bow to your expertise. This may be the first time I've seen or noticed them. The oddest thing on a clip I've seen was him using a big ass brass slide on one song. Can't recall which one... "Willie the Wimp" maybe.
