    You can really improve the belt life with the removal of the filter from the belt housing cooler intake. That filter is very restrictive. The heat and belt dust itself is more destructive than any dust that makes it in

    I changed the gearing on my 150cc by dropping the tooth count on the drive sprocket. got it from hammerhead performance. that way i was able to use the stock chain. not much adjustment left but enough. just another option.

    The easiest way it to REMOVE the clutch, squeeze it open with both hands, loop the belt between the sheaves, then reinstall the clutch and belt. Gives plenty of slack to get it over the drive boss on the variator.

    Hey Greg, all the best for you & yours in '21. Gonna switch gears here but wanted to catch you after your most recent vids. Just watched (again) when you got that Kohler 25 and haven't seen any others that followed where you would have used it. I have one for a project I'm about to start and would very much appreciate If you'd take a moment and touch base. I have a few tech questions. Won't be dressing it out with "Ti" stacks however, I'd like to grab all the HP & torque I can . . . have a plan for 4X and don't have the budget for a new Predator or Duromax. Thanks in advance and always stay safe . . . JJFIII

    Hey Red Beard,
    I hav an Ace Striker Buggy with a Carter motor. And aside from some minor maintenance I can’t find anything out about it? I got it from a guy for 700 bucks that his grandkids wrote it for a bit. I’ve had it for four years now and the other day at the bottom of the hill and just quit going with my son driving it the motor revs up from the gas pedal but it won’t drive. If it needs a belt or a clutch or a CVT I’m not sure what belt or clutch or CVT set up I need for it can you provide me with any help? I would love to bring it to you to work on but I live in new Berlin Wisconsin which is just outside of Milwaukee.

  • @dodgeme1986truck
    @dodgeme1986truck 4 ปีที่แล้ว

    I'm surprised he didn't replace that cooked cvt clutch it was visibly discolored from excessive heat more than likely from too little throttle when trying to start moving on a hill with the wrong gearing for that tire size... That entire cvt & clutch should be recalibrated to engage at a higher engine rpm and slow the cvt ramp rate via a heavier driven spring and lighter rollers in the drive pulley the clutch itself needs to be recalibrated with heavier return springs and heavier clutch shoes which will firm & harshen up the clutch engagement while slightly increasing the engagement rpm

    • @SportbikerNZ
      @SportbikerNZ 4 ปีที่แล้ว

      Why did you just repeat what he said in the vid re hill starts and tire size?
      It would be a shameful waste to replace that perfectly serviceable clutch and nothing needs recalibration given they change in gearing. You could certainly learn a thing or two from the RBG master by watching his CVT calibration vid where he talks about the springs and weights.

    • @dodgeme1986truck
      @dodgeme1986truck 4 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      @@SportbikerNZ I didn't repeat anyone I stated a fact about damage he ignored and didn't bother to correct he only stated the belt had been damaged and eventually destroyed by the improper gearing he however didn't fix the cvt tuning nor the overheated cvt parts thus leaving it ripe to fail again

    • @SportbikerNZ
      @SportbikerNZ 4 ปีที่แล้ว

      @@dodgeme1986truck False. You parroted RBG's analyses in the vid "excessive heat more than likely from too little throttle when trying to start moving on a hill with the wrong gearing for that tire size... " see timestamp 1:37 and 1:57 why would you just parrot what he's already said as if it's your own analyses?
      Incorrect on your CVT analyses. The gearing change specifically addresses the problem without the completely unnecessary and wasteful changing of weights and springs.

    • @dodgeme1986truck
      @dodgeme1986truck 4 ปีที่แล้ว +3

      @@SportbikerNZ no the cvt tuning is completely necessary even though the chain drive ratio was changed it still doesn't address the fact that the cvt clutch is fried and the tuning will address the secondary causes of the failure...He stated the reason the belt failed but not the cvt... I stated why the cvt failed as the cvt is cooked... The blue color of that clutch drum means the steel was overheated enough to loose it's tempering and will now wear very unevenly and fail to fully engage properly the cvt shift curve needs recalibrated for the new gearing and tire size, also the clutch to prevent overheating needs retuned to engage with more force (changing of the springs) and needs better friction materials (changing of the shoes)... I have built these engines to their structural limits and have retuned the cvts to their limits and based on what I've seen he is a novice at best with this style of cvt (and I'm being nice) for this cart he should start with a full set of yellow springs (stock are black or unpainted) then tune the drive (engine) pulley the rear clutch should get a set of yellow springs (stock are black or unpainted) as well as the rear cvt pulley main spring with a set of performance clutch drum shoes and a new clutch drum (due to having been overheated)

    • @SportbikerNZ
      @SportbikerNZ 4 ปีที่แล้ว

      @@dodgeme1986truck I couldn't disagree more, and hope he doesn't take such bad advice. There is nothing wrong with the CVT. The CVT never "failed" other than clearly being hammered on without a belt, not what's it's designed for. The discoloration indicating the steel is now ruined is bunk. It'd take vastly more heat, repeatedly, to the point of glowing, to even start to permanently compromise the steel in this application. Neither the springs nor the shoes need replacing as evidenced by the suitable engagement clearly exhibited during test drive. After you repeated exactly what RBG said in your first comment, it seems more than evident you should be taking his advice, not vice versa.

    ACCEPT THE BEST GIFT YOU CAN RECEIVE: THE GRACE OF SALVATION THROUGH FAITH IN JESUS CHRIST
    John 14: 6
    Jesus saith unto him, I am the way, the truth, and the life: no man cometh unto the Father, but by me.
    --------------
    If you read this text and you are going through difficult times in life, I want to tell you that you are not alone.
    God is with you.
    We are in the midst of a spiritual war for our souls and the final battles have already begun to rage.
    Ephesians 6:12
    For we wrestle not against flesh and blood, but against principalities, against powers, against the rulers of the darkness of this world, against spiritual wickedness in high places.
    ----------------
    SAVE YOUR SOUL
    We can only be saved by the GRACE of God and through FAITH in Christ.
    This is the gospel:
    1 Corinthians 15:1-4
    1 Moreover, brethren, I declare unto you the gospel which I preached unto you, which also ye have received, and wherein ye stand;
    2 By which also ye are saved, if ye keep in memory what I preached unto you, unless ye have believed in vain.
    3 For I delivered unto you first of all that which I also received, how that Christ died for our sins according to the scriptures;
    4 And that he was buried, and that he rose again the third day according to the scriptures:
    We are all sinners and do not deserve to be saved by our so-called "good works."
    God sent his only son to give His life for you.
    And for those who believe, God offers eternal life.
    John 3:16
    For God so loved the world, that he gave his only begotten Son, that whosoever believeth in him should not perish, but have everlasting life.
    ---------------
    And this is the fate of those who do not believe:
    John 3:36
    36 He that believeth on the Son hath everlasting life: and he that believeth not the Son shall not see life; but the wrath of God abideth on him.
    ------------------
    Christians are not better than others, we simply choose to live for Jesus in our daily lives, trusting His words.
    You don't have to go to church, follow a pastor, priest, guru, pope, or anyone else. Not even keeping the Sabbath, going to mass, going on pilgrimage, paying tithing, baptizing in water, speaking tonges, repeating prayers, worshiping saints, paying for courses, or doing anything.
    What must you do to be saved?
    1- recognize that you are a sinner and are condemned to eternal death and ask God for forgiveness.
    2- Accept, in your heart and by Faith, that Jesus Christ is your only Savior and that He sacrificed himself on the cross for you and rose again on the third day.
    3- declare to God with using your own words that you recognize yourself as a sinner and accept Jesus as your only Savior.
    ----------
    It doesn't matter how serious were the sins you have committed.
    If you repent in your heart and give your life to God, God will forgive you.
    Mark 2:17
    When Jesus heard it, he saith unto them, They that are whole have no need of the physician, but they that are sick: I came not to call the righteous, but sinners to repentance.
    -----------------
    Start talking to God and study the Bible.
    Accept Jesus.
    There is no other way to save your soul than through FAITH in Christ.
    Romans 10: 9-11
    9 That if thou shalt confess with thy mouth the Lord Jesus, and shalt believe in thine heart that God hath raised him from the dead, thou shalt be saved.
    10 For with the heart man believeth unto righteousness; and with the mouth confession is made unto salvation.
    11 For the scripture saith, Whosoever believeth on him shall not be ashamed.
    Ephesians 2: 8-9
    8 For by grace are ye saved through faith; and that not of yourselves: it is the gift of God:
    9 Not of works, lest any man should boast.
    Romans 3: 23-26
    23 For all have sinned, and come short of the glory of God;
    24 Being justified freely by his grace through the redemption that is in Christ Jesus:
    25 Whom God hath set forth to be a propitiation through faith in his blood, to declare his righteousness for the remission of sins that are past, through the forbearance of God;
    26 To declare, I say, at this time his righteousness: that he might be just, and the justifier of him which believeth in Jesus.
    -----------------
    GOD BLESS YOU
