I'm looking at a 1970 Cyclone GT 429CJ myself that has the ashtray! Runs but needs lots of cosmetic work. I'm wondering what are the hardest parts to find when restoring these cars???
Sorry for late response but some of the hardest pieces to find are the ram air air cleaner pieces(including the rubber seal), The ram air grill that sits on the hood(they are always broken), the rear small quarter window chrome pieces that look like a nike swoosh, everything on the center grill is extremely hard to find and in useable condition is harder to find, tail light lenses, and the wheel opening moldings that came on spoiler cars. The stuff that should be on all cyclone cars is the sheet metal and I have seen ones that should have been in the crusher that have been worked back to life through hundreds of hours and others were really rotten. No aftermarket sheet metal is available for these cars to my knowledge. Some torino stuff interchanges but I think it is limited to the deck lid, as far as sheet metal goes.
@@SteffsGarage it is, I have it on mine, but fyi you will most likely have to cut a hole in the hood for the air cleaner. Mine was done back in the 90s, so I'm not sure if there is a more low profile air cleaner available now, but my air cleaner does sit pretty low already and still doesn't clear.
Very nice..
Thanks Grant, I'm still working on it. I am working on making some cash to get the pistons I need for the build then it will start coming together.
@@SteffsGarage Looking forward to another update!

Try Wesleys bleach white on plastic and vinal. Try on an inconspicuous area first
Ok I'll give it a shot. Is that similar to a Mr Clean eraser?
Have you ever ran that stealth intake on a Cyclone before?
I haven't. It was on another guys engine during his break in process then I bought it, I've heard it's pretty good.
